What a joke, beaten in less than 15 seconds by a light heavyweight who stepped up at an hours notice :D
What a pussy ;D
I always wondered what would happen if Kimbo and Brock Lesnar fought, now I think Lesnar would absolutely ruin him
He didn't even get hit on the jaw or the temple, he just went down :S
Not much of an MMA fighter then.
i just wonder why Bas was hanging on to him...seems like a waste of time. he did in fairness seem to have an issuse with hi seye, i would not be surprised to hear a claim of a poke in the next couple days.wonder what his opponent got paid?
i seen the clip on espn and im still shocked happy, but shocked:o
;D
:lol: :owned::appl::appl:
Bas is the kind of person who knows what he's doing in the business and he wouldn't train someone.
He will probably chalk this loss up as taking the fight on an hour notice against a more experienced fighter then Kimbo when he was preparing for shamrock.
14 second loss is embarassing. But if he bounces back it would be better for the sport.
It doesn't prove someone is legit then if he comes back from a loss.
That said Kimbo seemed to be there for ratings mainly. I'd like for him to bounce back with Bas but i think the TV has done what they wanted with him. Like they did with charles bennett
anyone ragging on kimbo for that loss knows nothing about mma.
every guy in the history of the sport has been caught with a shot like that. for kimbo, it just so happened to come at 14 seconds.
4 oz gloves make those types of losses a very real possibility.
kimbo got caught. big deal.
I do agree pretty much, MMA is nothing like boxing where one loss can end a career.
It's rare in MMA for a fighter to go even 5 fights undefeated let alone build protected records of 30-0 like in boxing.
Hell the next UFC event is headlined by Bisping who lost a couple fights ago versus Chris Leben who must have lost 3 of his 5 or something.
I personally think it's all the better for that, you want to fight in MMA you have to fight the best fast, no padding records and I'm sure Kimbo will bounce back.
At the end of the day he destroyed former heavyweight champ Ray Mercer and former favourite Tank Abbot, plus got a credible win over the dangerous (but notoriously chinny) James Thompson.
Still not bad for a street fighter.
Kimbo really needs to step it up now, he can't just come forward the way he does in street fights. now that his been ko'ed his going to be a lot more easy to be ko'ed. Von is right it happens to anyone and anyone can get caught, but its also true once you get ko'ed your easier to be ko'ed next time around. Kimbo needs to really learn MMA now. His career is on the line, it would be sad for him to have to go back where he was before the youtube discovery.
Yep, he just got caught BUT Seth is not can. To be honest he is a very solid fighter and has been around. To anyone who knows MMA it would have been kinda surprising if Kimbo would have won.
I thought Kimbo looked nervous and uneasy (rightly so...i doubt he had any choice but to take the fight). Didn't want to touch gloves, maybe trying to un nerve his opponent. In all honesty though he did get caught BUT Seth Petruzelli is a solid fighter...he is no Ken Shamrock (who is now shot to bits)
Well done to Seth for stepping up at such short notice.
Oh come now,the guy was 2-2 since getting dropped by UFC wasnt even scheduled for a televised fight that night, was Outweighed by 30 and got talked in to the fight an hour before it happened
Its been an entire year of Kimbo this, and Kimbo that, well after losing Ken and Frank Shamrock theyre forced to scrape somebody off of the bottom of their own undercard, and he sparks Slice in 14 seconds
He got beat by submission against Wilson Gouveia and before that lost a decision against Matt Hamill. Seth has some skills and is a solid karate fighter. He was a legit MMA opponent rather than what Kimbo has been fed in the past and he carries great power.
True that, Seth is actually a step up for Kimbo when you look at kimbo's past oppenent.
I had no idea ken pulled out and didn't even watch the fight, when i heard kimbo lost I was thinking who the hell beat him. Then I saw Seths name, i was like oh why did they put kimbo with him in short notice. i knew before seeing the fight, kimbo was caught coming forward and it was exactly as I thought.
I do think Kimbo will come back though...not sure he will be as marketable as he was before. Elite XC will suffer financially probably.
He will come back, he dont seem like the guy to be mentally broken after a defeate. plus that was not kimbo's first lost. they can try to continue to make him out to be a street fighter monster. They can even say it was a fluke that he lost to seth, but imo kimbo needs to really learn MMA if his going to last any longer.
again, LOTS of guys have been dropped by that one punch. It's an mma thing.
The outcome of this fight serves no purpose. Not only does it NOT detract from kimbo's skill or development, but it also fails to prove seth's ability.
kimbo got caught. plain and simple. happens to the best of 'em.
Is there video of this ??? PLEEEEEEASE ;D. This is very funny and refreshing.
it proves that kimbo is not superhuman occasional mma fans and internet nerds thinks that he is. i read in some forum that he was poked in the eye or he was not rocked but slipped instead. what a bunch of bull!
he was caught by a short punch when he was charging forward. i can see kimbos head snap to the right. i know right away that he was hurt, yes seth is a class b fighter. a class b light heavy with a 90% ko stat. :)
I think it was an early stoppage, considering his size and strength kimbo could have come back from that
lol at the commentator going on about dreams coming true and shit.... the guy beat Kimbo Slice for fucks sake... he's had 3 bouts leading up to this and knocked out a punch of tomato cans in back alleys...
Is it really that easy to build up a profile?!
I'd heard than they wanted Frank Shamrock to fight Kimbo at some point, but the officials wouldn't allow it.
But anyway, this Kimbo fight proved that you get can get caught off guard and lost in a heartbeat. Hell, you almost the entire fight and hold your own, and may even be on the winning end, but if you let your guard down just one time, that one surprise attack is all it takes to wipe you out.
