This Friday on Showbox. Predictions?
- Were you aware that while they are the same height, both stand 6'2, Andrade has an 8" reach advantage over Bute(78" to 70")?
i have no idea who's going to win this one... but i'll be watching.
Lucian Bute by clear cut UD it will be an easier fight for Lucian Bute than people think.
I was gonna say pretty much what ICB did. Bute might shine in there.
I agree with ICB and Oumafan. Bute is going to outclassed Andrade in a big way, not unlike Kessler. I think it will be a wide UD, but I wouldn't be all together shocked if Bute stopped Andrade, in spite of his iron chin.
Admittedly, I am not too familiar with Bute. I will be rooting for Andrade.
bute should win but andrade can catch him
Bute will win. I have a gut feeling he stops Andrade.
I like Andrade when/if Bute go's inside.Bute is skilled southpaw, tricky but I think Andrade's volume & resilience will take it down the stretch.
I wish I can find the thread where I gave my thoughts on Bute. If I'm not mistaken I've seen him twice, versus Berrio and I can't get a picture in my head other then a really average fighter so this confuses me a bit. I remember in one fight the comment that my head assosciates with Bute that in the first half he was a poor man's Kessler before becoming a poor man's Calzaghe and that the poor man's Calzaghe was a lot better then the other guy.
Youtube seems to have a bit of a collection I will watch them before explaining my vote.
It's shocking how much bigger, better and more relevant of a fight this is then Froch-Pascal yet no one seems to care half as much about htis one.
Um, OK Bute isn't as average as I remembered him to be, this will be quite the fight and Bute looks like quite the fighter especially with that southpaw uppercut inside that is very nice and Andrade just seems a perfect target. This is interesting, very interesting. I think Andrade is talented enough to catch Bute squared up with the right hand down but will likely have to take a lot to give which is no problem for him but damn, Bute is a nice fighter just crammed about 20 minutes of Youtube including the Bika fight which brought back everything to me as well as others. Interesting fight, I think I'll go with Bute by decision, now way by KO imo.
No way he stops Andrade.
Put your house on a Bute UD.
I haven't seen much of Bute, and it seems he is quite a good boxer going from what I've heard on here and alot of people are picking him; but I am going to say my boy Andrade by ko, right or wrongly. I agree with Markus, no way Bute ko's Andrade unless he drives a truck in the ring and runs over Librado. Really looking forward to this one.
Well I went with Bute by decision. He has more sound skills than Andrade, but Andrade's work rate should keep this interesting.
I don't see Bute knocking out Andrade though. Andrade has one hell of chin, and I don't think that he even knows how to bruise. His face always seems to come out of a fight with no marks on it.
pretty shocked to see that people have andrade as the underdog..
I have never considered that andrade would lose this fight..
Should be interesting.
Librado Andrade is limited thats why he is the underdog, yes his defense has improved. But facts are facts he has a good chin a big heart, but what much else is there ? he is an exciting fighter and im not trying to diss him he is great for the sport.
But he is just a come forward fighter with not alot of skill sets, and relies on his strength and chin to win him fights. Lucian Bute has beaten tough fighters like Sakio Bika, Kabary Salem, with no real trouble. If you have followed or watched Lucian Butes fights, its not hard to see why he is the favorite.
Andrade by a hard fought decision...
I think this fight will show Butes potential and also what Andrade has learned from the Kessler fight, I think that Bute and Kessler have the same style.
I hope for Andrade, he is a true boxer with a lot of heart.
Voted Andrade by KO ..... we will give the big boot to Bute:-X
PS please somebody upload this fight ASAP, so I can watch it.....
My head says bute and my heart says andrade.
Steve Farhood on Bute:
Fightnews
I didn't know he was so popular in Canada!
Like most I expect a relatively routine victory for Bute
In response to Amat who says this is a far bigger than Pascal Froch I disagree.
With Andrade we know exactly what we will get and I think the outcome of this fight is pretty predictable, i.e Bute easily outboxes him.
We may be wrong and Andrade may suprise us but I'm not certainly not expecting the unexpected in this fight.
In the case of Froch Pascal however, we have two unbeaten fighters going at it and I don't think many of us have any idea how this fight will go down.
I think Froch Pascal is a true 50/50 fight and I can't wait to see it.
I'm going with a Froch KO in the late rounds to finally put him on the world map but it is possible that Pascal boxes his head off as well imo. Should be a great fight though.
I see Bute controlling Andrade pretty much however and winning with relative ease.
Well..to be fair Andrade did improve since the Kessler fight, but not by much...I think Bute looks like the perfect sneaky southpaw...and like most here already said Bute should outbox Andrade more or less easily...
Your post was a little confusing (I think you meant to say Bute in the first sentence), but I agree with the prediction.
The reason why this fight is more relevant than Froch v. Pascal is because this fights pits Ring Magazine # 3 v. # 4 fighters and Pascal is unranked and unknown, for the most part, outside of Montreal, Canada.
As far as excitement, I will be more excited for the Froch fight if Jermain beats Lacy because then we'll have a chance to see Jermain fight Carl, which will be a huge test for both.
I think Andrade will win because of his workrate, chin and unlike Salem and Berrio, he keeps his hands up.
I think Bute will look dazzling for the first half of the fight, fast jabs and footwork - but Andrade will show huge improvements since the kessler fight and it will be a war of attrition from the 7th round onwards.
I expect Bute to steal the fight on early rounds, based on his southpaw stance and speed.
Im going to go with Bute by unaminous dec. I dont know what to expect from Adrande because i havnt seen him fight
Excited about this one. Is the guy Hearns is fighting any good?

I am so excited for this fight, I expect this to be much more competitive than ICB
MODS, can you sticky this thread for tonight?
Did you see Paschal on ESPN 2 last time? I think the people who did are not quite as excited for this fight since he looked pretty crappy and kind of chinny. Also came off as a bit scared of his own shadow with the Miranda thing.
I don't think that highly of Froch (understatement) but he probably gets to Paschal's chin.
twas not that hard after all
forgot this was on Shobox, greatness.
Here's where the trash talk happened (right after the KO of Banks)

What I meant by that comment was that this fight is more relevant to the division because really, neither Pascal nor Froch are going to rule this division or even come close. The winner of this one, with Kessler and Taylor's absense and guys like Ward and Dirrell's time still a bit in the distance, will pretty much be the man in the division at least for the time being. Froch-Pascal probably gets one of them in the top 10, and then they won't last much longer from there either of them. Maybe Pascal but I doubt it.
Miranda's ko was pretty badass. I can understand having a few second thoughts.
I don't know Bute, but the one thing I'll say for certain is there will be no kayoing of Andrade.
