IMO, it's recruiters. These cock suckers don't have enough common courtesy to respond even when you're qualified, and MOST of the time they don't even understand the jobs they're recruiting for.

There was a job recently in business development promoting a custom synthesis division of a major chemical supplier. They wanted someone with a background in chemistry or business. I have graduate degrees in both. I even hand delivered my resume right to the front door of the company. No sales experience? Bullshit. I did that very job at Pfizer, and dealt with custom synthesis CROs all over the world and detemrined efficiency and cost effectiveness models. I know that industry like the back of my hand. I'd be a chemist dealing with other chemists, explaining our sysnthesis capabilities. Yet I didn't even get a call. So explain that one to me.
The main issue here is that the industry for which I'm most suited (pharma) has fuck all going on in Canada. I can't even get a job as a chemist, and that's what I was for 8 years. It's all generic bullshit, sales and marketing. And again, I lack big enough tits for sales. Plus they can pay some kid straight out of school a lot less money. But fuck, I'd TAKE that money forthe sake of having a job.
Basically, it's come to tyhe point whre I'm applying to job that pay less than half of what I'm worth on paper. No calls. I suspect that B is rather perverse in my job hunting efforts in general. I've even taken education off my resume. How's that for swallowing pride. You work your ass off to open doors, then they close in your face becaus of it. Ironic, eh?
At this point I've started to consider throwing my education i the toilet and tryig to get an apprenticeship as an electrician or bricklayer.
i know we've talked about this before, and i don't remember your situation as far as family and what not goes, but you need to relocate.. To ease your mind, if you havne't done so already, apply to jobs on the east coast, near new england, and even in NY, and in southern california.. i bet you'll get a million hits..Quote:

All i know is that there were no "apple bottom jeans" lyrics back in the day.. at least the fruit references were a bit more subtle, "really love your peaches, wanna shake your tree"..
I also hate cops.. To find a cop who fits the mold of what a police man actually stands for is rare.. Most just want the badge and the power, and overuse it.. Others sleep/visit friends/etc.. on the job and don't care.. To find a cop that actually cares about citizens and doesn't overuse power is nearly impossible.. because they would have become a fireman..

I'd happily go back to the US. We really enjoyed our time in SE Mi. But American markets of all sorts are drying up. There's a recession on, and there's no way in hell an American company will pay for my work auth. and relo right now.

My biggest beef with them is that they never truly understand what they are recruiting for. Thus, they can't possibly identify a qualified candidate unless it's spelled out for them. no time now, but I can offer a story to prove my point.

You should see me when I go shopping. Im evil in the supermarkets, everything pisses me off. My wife doesnt let me go now, so I stay at home. Its easier for me. In contrast I absolutely love going shopping in the UK, and I find it a delightful experience.
I hate bathroom attendants, I don't need someone to hand me a paper towel or spray cologne on me, when I take a piss I want to do it with privacy. Tow truck drivers, these assholes will take your car 30 miles from where they towed it from and charge you an additional 100 bucks for having the car over an hour
