GUESS: High Profile fight that will end in a one sided beatdown
Recently 2 high profile fights that were perceived as competitive fights ended in a one sided beatdown.
First, the Vitali-Peter fight, who had predicted correctly that Peter would quit?
Second, the Hopkins-Pavlik fight, Pavlik was installed as the favorite here but was totally schooled by B-Hop...
Which upcoming high profile fight (perceived as competitive) do you think will again result in a one sided beatdown?
Show your guessing expertise guys... ;D

How can it not be Jones vs Calzaghe? I would say Oscar vs Pac but the size differential is so great that it should not even count

Are you guessing Calzaghe schooling RRJ? Or the other way around?

Hatton Malignaggi looks a liklihood.

Re: GUESS: High Profile fight that will end in a one sided beatdown

Does Darchinyan remind you of Daniel Ponce De Leon at all?

I think Vic may be a little better technically, but I see them in a similar light.

They are similiar in the fact that they both look ugly, both seem to struggle against slick fighters, but both can put an opponents lights out very quickly.

Re: GUESS: High Profile fight that will end in a one sided beatdown
Calzaghe will own Roy big time. That said i still think Roy has enough left to make Joe eat a few hard right hands.

Re: GUESS: High Profile fight that will end in a one sided beatdown
Pacquiao-De la Hoya....something tells me it's going to be a beat down, who gets beat down is the question

Calzaghe fighting Jones is no more honorable then Oscar fighting Pacman, IMO Calzaghe should be a larger betting favorite against JOnes then Oscar should be in December.

Re: GUESS: High Profile fight that will end in a one sided beatdown
Honestly i think that Wald will give Povetkin a onesided beatdown mainly because of his inexperience

Joe is going to school Roy

Not terribly "high profile" but I think Williams will dismantle and shutdown respectable Phillips.

Re: GUESS: High Profile fight that will end in a one sided beatdown
Had you ask this question a week ago most would be saying hopkins vs pavlik, and looked how that turned out. :D I feel Roy vs Joe will suprise most, the one fight i see that will end one sided is ODLH vs PAC

In ODLH vs. PAC, who do you think will get beat, the older guy or the faster guy?

i have to go with the stronger guy.and right now its too early to tell.i think oscar is too big for pacquiao but hes losing muscles.while pac is gaining.that is true until the weigh-in is over.time to bulk up again for oscar while pac tries to maintain his weight for him not to lose speed.

I really can't see the faster but much smaller guy doing anything with the size differential

This fight is getting interesting day by day... We'll wait until weigh-in time...

Re: GUESS: High Profile fight that will end in a one sided beatdown
RJJ Vs Joe - Joe will blow him away wish this fight was a few years ago
Hatton Vs Malignaggi - very one sided Hatton outing
I can see stoppages for both here even Joe :o

Re: GUESS: High Profile fight that will end in a one sided beatdown
I think what with Ricky changing trainers and all that Malinaggi is going to take Ricky to school. I don't like Paulie at all but Ricky is going to have a very fast decline just because of what kind of fighter he is.

Good point Oscar is no Hopkins and with age he has decline, but i believe the weight, and Oscars power is still a mismatch over Pac. His power will have small effect at that weight and oscar can take a punch. I belive Oscar will match his speed, he was on par with Mayweather, and with Pac moving up... :)

Good question, but unfortunately I don't have a good answer.
The biggest fights of the Fall are Calzaghe v. Jones and Pacman v. ODLH, but I don't think either of them will be competitive.
Calzaghe v. Jones doesn't qualify because it is my belief all the cards favor Calzaghe. I would be HUGELY surprised if the fight was even close. Maybe Jones pulls out a round or two. I'll be rooting for Jones and happily surprised if he wins, but it appears he/they are in this one for the coin.
Pacman doesn't stand a chance against ODLH. Boxing experts don't believe it will becompetitive and either do I. To be sure, if Pacman won this one or even keeps it close, the guy solidifies himself as a boxing great.
Cunningham v. Adamek maybe? I just don't know who wins.

I don't see it. Paulie is feather-fisted. Paulie has better-than-good boxing skills, but if Hatton gets inside...well, that's all folks.

Re: GUESS: High Profile fight that will end in a one sided beatdown
Maybe I'm wrong on the lack of competitiveness in the upcoming Calzaghe v. Jones fight. Check Dundee's opinion here: DUNDEE, The Socrates Of Boxing | TheSweetScience.com Boxing.
Does anyone know how much money each fighter is making on this fight?
Is there a way in general to find out what the purse is for each fight?

Not that high-profile, but I wouldn't be surprised if Haye lives up to the hype and beats the snot out of Barrett.

Of course you can't give a good answer... this is to guess the unexpected...
Like my 2 examples, who among us predicted that Peter will quit and B-Hop will totally school Pavlik?
In the fights you've mentioned, the wild guesses are RRJ dominating Calzaghe and PAC beating Oscar... Cunningham vs. Adamek, got no clue about this fight...

Hatton v Paulie. Hatton really will make Paulie look like the fool he is. Trust me.
