Joel Julio v. Sergei Dzinziruk
Potential to be a great fight, outside of Quintana, Julio's first real test.
Who do you pick to win?
Re: Joel Julio v. Sergei Dzinziruk
i go with julio in this one he kod Jose Varela who went 12 rounds with Edison Miranda who hits very hard. but didnt dzinziruk beat santos:confused:. hhmmm kinda hard to chose but i still pick julio to win by ko.

You nailed it! At 1st I thought Julio but now Santos starching Alcine in July impressed me too.

Right. That was a good point. Sergei can bang, no doubt.
At times when I've watched Julio, he looks like he'd be an elite fighter if he improved his D.
Re: Joel Julio v. Sergei Dzinziruk
Don't think I've ever seen Sergei fight so know nothing about him.
Julio isn't especially exciting or exceptional imo but he's got fairly heavy hands and a decent workrate so unless Sergei is borderline world class I'd take Julio to win in the usual manner.
He doesn't excite me at all though. He kind of reminds me of Andre Berto, another talented boxer who for some reason I find as exciting as watching snails mate.
They both just win by attrition, stronger, physically better than their opponents they just wear them down over several rounds rather than put on any exceptional boxing displays.
Re: Joel Julio v. Sergei Dzinziruk
Dzinziruk is a quality operator who should outbox Julio over 12.
Shame he's stuck in Germany fighting bums the rest of his career though.
Re: Joel Julio v. Sergei Dzinziruk
At 1st I didn't understand why Juliod wouldn't want to fight "Maravilla" Martinez on HBO here in the states. Then after being ringside and witnessing Martinez's wrath I quickly realized why his team opted to go over to Sergeis place and fight him instead.
Martinez would have shread Julio to pieces...
I still think Sergeis gonna give Julio problems, Sergeis too ackward and just has a weird style. Julio needs to bring his A game and be ready.
I voted Sergei by Decision.

It will be a big win for either man. If Sergei wins, he should take bigger fights outside of Germany like he has talked about.
Re: Joel Julio v. Sergei Dzinziruk
I haven't seen a whole lot of Sergei but from what I have seen I'd pick him.

I think it would be bigger for Julio if he wins, however a win for Sergei should def. open his mind up to coming over to the states to fight.
Re: Joel Julio v. Sergei Dzinziruk
I think Sergei will be to polished for Julio & will take a wide decision.
I wouldn't mind seeing Dzindziruk/ Santos 2
Re: Joel Julio v. Sergei Dzinziruk
How wrong I was - Dzinziruk schooled Julio. I guess this means that Julio will always have trouble with a highly skilled technical boxer. Does anyone have footage of the fight? I would love to see it.
Re: Joel Julio v. Sergei Dzinziruk
I pick Dzinziruk by UD Julio should start off good but about round 4 Dzinziruk should have him figured out and should cruise. :p

Sorry no vid...german tv showed not all the rounds, but most of them...and let me tell you Dzinziruk took some bombs in the early rnds, but weathered the storm showing a great chin...after that he started picking Julio apart with his shotgun jab using his longer reach very well...was a great display off skill by Sergei...
Re: Joel Julio v. Sergei Dzinziruk
Dan rafeal's golden child lost ??!! No way.

Yes, looks like boxers will always give him problems. I agree that a Sergei should fight Santos in a rematch. Then the winner of that fight becomes a super champ so the WBA has a regular champ - those are always special.
