Fighter A Beats Fighter B Who Beats Fighter C Who Beats Fighter A
Anyone know of any of these 'rock, paper, scissors' scenarios in boxing? I think the most recent one is of course Shane Mosley losing to Vernon Forrest, who in turn loses to Ricardo Mayorga, who in turn loses to Shane Mosley.

Re: Fighter A Beats Fighter B Who Beats Fighter C Who Beats Fighter A
Great Post. This is the classic styles make fights. I think Roy Jones beats Bernard because of his fast hand, fast feet workrate style which does not work on Tarver because Tarver stands in the Pocket and delivers punches harder then Hopkins. Tarvers slow feet and awkward movement becomes a liability against Bernard but not Jones because Hopkins is aways on balance. To make it simple- Tarver beats Jones most of the times, Jones beats Bernard most of the times and Hopkins beats Tarver all of the Times. Just because your attributes work against 1 fighter does not mean the work against all fighters, Just ask Pavlik. Jones will be much more comfortable fighting calzaghe then Hopkins was because he understands Joe does not have that 1 punch KO power like Tarver. Jones will take more chances, he is not scared of Joe's power. He fears Joe's boxing ability and speed so he believes nobody who does not have a Physical advantage over him can win. To beat Roy U need a Physical advantage as well as the ability to use it in the fight. Tarver seemed like he was fighting down hill on Roy and he seemed bigger. Styles and Attributes make fights.

Re: Fighter A Beats Fighter B Who Beats Fighter C Who Beats Fighter A
Going into Ali-Foreman, Ali had 2 career losses, one to Frazier and one to Norton. Foreman had KO'd both Frazier and Norton in the 2nd round. Then Ali beats Foreman. That's the most famous one.
And how about.... Duran gets KO'd in 2 rounds by Hearns, Hearns gets beaten twice by Barkley, then Barkley loses to Duran.
