Concerts/Bands you wish you would have seen?
The concerts you have been to thread inspired this. Only realistic posts though, IE I couldn't say The Beatles because they broke up long before I was born.
Here's a short list of mine:
Nirvana
At The Drive In
Refused
Sepultura w/Max (if they reunite, I will fly to Brazil to see them if I have to.)
Soundgarden
The Libertines
Pink Floyd
Tha Alkaholiks
-
Re: Concerts/Bands you wish you would have seen?
Ones that I had an opportunity to see but didn't ...
Pink Floyd
Santana
Willie Nelson
Johnny Cash (major regrets here )
Steely Dan
The Who
Miles Davis
Van Morrison
U2
Elvis Costello
Pretenders
Crosby Still Nash Young
Frank Zappa
Dire Straits
Eric Burdon
There's also one particular Neil Young concert I missed, also a Jeff Beck, but I've seen both these guys many times.
That's all I can think of for now.

Re: Concerts/Bands you wish you would have seen?
Some people seem to be missing the question, but that's ok, this is just for fun.
Of course everyone would say The Beatles, but the question was regarding the bands that you realistic chance to see, IE you can't say The Beatles if you weren't alive when they were touring.
-
Re: Concerts/Bands you wish you would have seen?
Guns N Roses in there prime.
There prime is a bit like Mike Tysons.Short and destructive. But kept going way past the sell by date.

I love CCR I was raised on it, not much in the way of rhythm change, but Fogerty has the most distinct voice.

Music taste is funny ,I like most of what others like including you Lyle but I think of Billy Joel like you think of Ian Anderson of Tull.
I could handle being at a beach party in California with the Beach boys playing and then the B52's once things got swinging.

Re: Concerts/Bands you wish you would have seen?
Mac Dre died in 04, I still wish I could have seen him at 13 or 14.

Billy Joel was married to Christie Brinkley the hot (yet mental) super model of the 1980's and his music isn't annoying unlike Ian Anderson.
What songs of Billy Joel do you not like? Innocent Man was a great album, I grew up on that stuff.
Huey Lewis and The News would have been great to see in their prime

Nothing personal like Tull its a style all of its own.I usually like different stuff but for me Billys stuff just falls flat for some reason.
Although I can appreciate the effort that goes onto the writing and skill to bring it out personally by him, the style just doesnt do it for me and i get bored with it all so fast.
I cant stand piano man either if i was the last one in an old wild west bar drunk on straight wiskey and he started up with that stuff I would have to shoot him or me, :-\ probably me straight through both ears ;D.
Just different taste in stuff mate thats all,Unlike Bruce Springsteen who sh!ts me to tears for other reasons, not so much his music but the massive ego the man has and its effects on everything he does; stands out way too much for my liking. Aside from what those poor bastards who have to work in with him have to put up with.
