its on Dan Rafael's notebook on ESPN, apparently HBO loves the fight. Gary Shaw is interested but there's no real response from Don King, apparently right now they are talking with Mayorga's manager/lawyer who's interested.
I think it would be fun. Angulo's managers are not idiots, they are staying away from boxer/movers like the plague, keeping him in exciting fights and building his name.
they are looking at Feb 09 by the way.
This could be too soon for Angulo but I have a feeling that it won't go that way. If it comes off of course.
Angulo should fight Kirkland :fight:.Mayorga is apparently good for guys looking to rebound impressively and rekindle life in career's.Angulo's future is ahead in a big way.
Mayorga looked good against Mosley and better then I think people thought he would. I'll give him a shot.
Angulo should take the WBC belt from Vernon Forrest. Mayorga just got KTFO and it wouldnt prove much for Angulo. Forrest is the man Angulo should be after because of that belt. Its only a matter of time to see Angulo take on top rank fighters, maybe even Margarito down the road.
I think Forrest would box his ears off to be honest, but it would be a good matchup if this one doesn't come off. Don't really see the need for Angulo to step it up any further than he would already be doing in fighting Mayorga next though, that's a total pick em for me even though Mayorga is coming off the KO loss.Quote:

It may not be a big step in terms of class from Mayorga to Forrest at this point, generally speaking.... However from Angulos standpoint there is a massive difference. Stylistically Mayorga is a much better opponent for him than anyone who can move well. I would consider a Forrest matchup MUCH more dangerous for Angulo, even though I think Mayorga would have a good shot to. I don't think Angulo could beat Forrest at all.Quote:

Like above, could be too early for the prospect but on the other hand, too late for Mayorga.
Not sure whether Ricardo is taking this as a genuine chance to earn his way back to the top or just for the cash, I wouldnt have thought the money would be much so hopefully he does himself a favour and trains well and puts up a hard fight.
Felt sorry for him with Mosely, he looked to be set to get the nod only to be stopped in the last second, then when the scores were announced he was well behind anyway:o
I bet Mosely was full of epo again to find the energy that late:rolleyes:

I can't stand Forrest but I think he'd probably beat Angulo.
Angulo will break Mayorga down though IMO. We'll see.
Been in the back of my head when the mentions of this one started.I cannot explain it but I just do not like this match for Angulo ???Mayorga's humungous,hard in head and body and is as unpredictable as all helz.Angulo is on his way up,but he follows with feet....solid hitter and varies to head and body but this will be his initial major event with a deep experienced big show fighter with a fugly,very physical style.This might turn into a head on collision and a real acid test for Angulo.Then again, has Mayorga become too comfortable with loosing,ecspecially off devistating last second KO in very last fight?
Takes alot of kahonas for a guy with 14 pro fights to take on someone like Mayorga, especially since he just gave Mosley all he could handle, which proves he still has something in the tank.....Mayorga has an awkward style and heavy hands so this ought to be interesting.....
They have been moving Angulo along pretty quickly...3 of his last 4 opponents were pretty decent names for a young fighter...
