Julio Cesar Chavez: "All the Mexicans are backing up Pacquiao"
From FightNews:
link: All the Mexicans are backing up Pacquiao
Following his dominating win over Matt Vanda last night at the Mandalay Bay, Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. gave his take on the upcoming De La Hoya-Pacquiao fight, Dec. 6: “People say it’s a crazy fight, but, honestly, from a fighter’s point-of-view, I think De La Hoya is going to have a very tough time with Pacquiao. He can win the fight, but my money is on Pacquiao. All the Mexicans are backing up Pacquiao.”
I'm expecting Oscar Dela Hoya getting the LOUDEST BOOO of his life when he enters the ring on December 6 ... :lolhaha:

HAH ok lets just see if Pacman can handle that lefthook that put down Vargas and Mayorga. His little head might explode when he tastes that.

This is old news.
He came out and stated this when the fight was first announced.

PAC probably can't handle that... but what I'm looking if grandpa Oscar can land that left hook cleanly and if old Oscar can handle PAC speed, stamina (youth) and heart (guts)...

that can be the only way pacman wins to me. is by punchin more being the agresser (idk how) and having great stamina which he does. so that can pretty much be the only way pacman can win, and judging from oscars last performance (which he looked awful in) he could basically give pacman a chance to take it and if does he will be the laughing stock of boxing.

Uh, Jr said it back then too. As usual, he was just following daddy's lead.
And how do you get that it's true? Because two Mexicans who don't like Oscar said it was true?

Maybe but not publicly and not openly published in a boxing website like FightNews... Well, it's two well known Mexican boxers who said that then it must be true... ;)
Seriously, I think it's not ALL Mexicans but MOST Mexican boxing fans are backing up Pacquiao...

Again, 2 well known Mexican boxers already said ALL Mexicans but I have some doubt in that since even in this board, I think there are Mexicans who are not backing up Pacquiao...
I have some doubts so I downgraded the "ALL" to "MOST"... And there's no denying that Oscar is not well loved in Mexico... It's a fact... I guess Mexicans hate grandpa crossdressers... :lolhaha:

Re: Julio Cesar Chavez: "All the Mexicans are backing up Pacquiao"
The real fight would be Oscar / Margaritto that whats Mexico really wants.
That is why they want Pac to beat up on his ass, Mexico is backing the underdog not saying he will win; but hoping for justices sake. Me too. Go Pac.

Re: Julio Cesar Chavez: "All the Mexicans are backing up Pacquiao"
I'm guessing MOST Mexican boxing fans are practicing/singing along with this MTV tribute song of Manny Pacquiao for the Hoya December 6 fight... ;)

Re: Julio Cesar Chavez: "All the Mexicans are backing up Pacquiao"
JCC Jr says that the mexican fans are behind Pacquiao? The same Mexican fans that he managed to get to boo his dad, that's pretty bad. If Barrera or Morales said this it would mean more or maybe JCC Sr.

Of course it won't matter much... ;) I'm just saying that Hoya will probably get his loudest BOO come December 6 because of the huge Mexican support for Pacquiao... ;)

Re: Julio Cesar Chavez: "All the Mexicans are backing up Pacquiao"
I highly doubt that lol. Mexicans aren't going to root for Pacquiao over De La Hoya that's garbage. Really think about every fight you've seen before.

;D LOL, yeah Manny's a tough guy but nobody he's faced @ 135 or lower has a left hook with the power of Oscar. I think Roach is banking on Manny being able to avoid it - we'll soon see.

Re: Julio Cesar Chavez: "All the Mexicans are backing up Pacquiao"
Its pretty sad that Chavez is still bitter about losing twice to Oscar and now he has imposed his bitterness on his son to brainwash him .
Reminds me abit of Holmes, he was always very bitter.
This has obvioulsy come from Chavez snr and I think its sad that all these years later hes still not over it. He wouldnt even admit he quit in the 2nd Oscar fight

Re: Julio Cesar Chavez: "All the Mexicans are backing up Pacquiao"
Im not even going to discuss this topic because it looks like Pac fans will never understand. This topic was already voiced when Sr said it so now that JR is saying it what changes? Nothing, they are just bitter on the ass wooping DLH gave SR. As to Pac this is exactly why I hate him, his idiot fans. Im mexican-american, I go to mexico.. Pac is very DISLIKE! MOST mexicans are viewing this as a REVENGE fight for them. They don't root for someone who has been giving a MEXicutioner name... Get a fucking clue...

Re: Julio Cesar Chavez: "All the Mexicans are backing up Pacquiao"
Pac can kiss my mexirican @$$. love to watch him fight and win just not against Mexican fighters.

You want some fucking clue, here's an article by a Mexican writer talking about Pacquiao:
The Mexican Point of View
by Hessiquio Balderas
Pacquiao here in México is an icon. Despite he has beaten a large list of mexican fighters. i´ve gone to cover many fights here in mexico (all over the country) and its amazing to see how the ring is the dirt floor, no ropes, no real referi, just two guys beating each other without boxing trunks, without boxing shoes, just their daily outfit. Wether its boots and pants. But they want to be Pacquiao. You would hear the introducctions as Juan Antonio “El Pacquiao“ Martinez. Or in other venues the crowd would scream to the fighter who is agressive “lets go Pacquiao“ this gives you an idea of how big Pacquiao is here in Mexico.
For his fight against David Diaz, Paquiao was a big, or i should said a huge favorite to win. I conducted a poll in the street here in mexico and 90 % of the people wanted Pacman to win. They didnt know who Diaz was in the first place. Pacquiao brings that plus that Mike Tyson used to bring to his fights and that is exciment, he comes to fight and that is what people all over the World like, México is no exception.
http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/j...y-pacquiao.jpg
The other fighter that is as popular as Manny here in Mexico is Jorge “Travieso“ Arce, obviously De La Hoya, and Julio Cesar Chavez jr.
You would mention the names of many other mexican fighters here in Mexico, such as Terra Garcia, Cochulito Montiel, Edgar Sosa, Christian Mijares, etc. And they are known to the hardcore boeing fans, but sadly the general public doesn´t know who they are, but they know who Manny Pacquiao is, its like asking who Bruce Lee was and everybody knows that. When you reach that level, its when you know you´re a superstar World wide and that is the result of one thing. Dedication and hard work.
De La Hoya vs Pacquiao: its a mismatch, everyone says that. i believe that to a certain point, but i also believe that Roach is right about oscar not pulling the trigger anymore. Look at his bout with Floyd jr. There were moments where Oscar would just stand in front of Floyd without punching, but recieving punches from all angles. When that happens and you stay in front of an oponent like that its not only that you are tired is that you cant pull the trigger. i think oscar is very strong for the first few rounds, but pacquiao its very strong for 12 rounds. And lets not forget that Steve Forbes can´t punch and is a small fighter and if he was able to do some damage to oscar, pacquiao should and will cause a lot of damage, speed is power and speed kills and pacquiao has that and a punch, he should take the fight get that huge payday and move on and probably begin to search for a few more fights and then retire.
The people in Mexico are still a bit angry with Oscar because he beat Julio Cesar Chavez twice.
I wouldn´t be surprise if Manny is the favorite here in Mexico over De La Hoya.

Here's some more fucking clue:
MEXICANS FAVOR PACQUIAO
By Hesiquio Alejandro Balderas Olivio
Tue, 21 Oct 2008
Tuxtepec, Oaxaca, Mexico:- Mexicans fighters have a unique quality when they step inside the ring, and that is pride. Throughout the years, fans have witnessed this unique passion in every Mexican fighter. These fighters are known for their trade mark determination, heart, and ever going forward style.
It is hunger that drives these individuals to try to reach for their goals and become world champions so that they can provide their families with food to survive and a better life in the future.
A few good ones such as Raton Macias, Ruben Olivares, Julio Cesar Chavez, Salvador Sanchez and Oscar de la Hoya have reached their goals. Many others are still trying.
In the Philippines, many fighters exhibit the same qualities as Mexican fighters. They too have huge hearts and plenty of determination that makes them difficult to beat. When we see Mexicans battle Filipinos, be it a 4 rounder or a 12 round championship fight, we are always sure to see a war. There will blood and guts involved.
It is for these reasons that we in Mexico have high regards for every single Filipino fighter be it Gabriel Elorde, Luisito Espinosa or any fighter from the Philippines.
But the person that captures our imagination the most is Manny Pacquiao.
“El Paquiau”, as people would call him in the streets of Mexico is a brawler with similar fighting style as Mexicans. He has a huge heart and more importantly he always fights for his country. This is the reason why he is loved by our people.
I recently conducted a poll in the streets of my hood Tuxtepec in Oaxaca, Mexico about the coming fight between Pacquiao and De La Hoya. I was amazed to see that those from my area favor Pacquiao by 72%.
One would think that de la Hoya would be the over-whelming favorite as he is a Mexican-American. But the fact is Pacquiao is their choice because he is the underdog. And he has a pleasant Mexican style and the bravado of Mexican fighters.
Pacquiao is the choice of not only the people in the streets but also of big named Mexican boxing legends like Julio Cesar Chavez, a former boxing great and now, a TV broadcaster. Chavez actually stated that Pacquiao will win!
Chavez also said that Pacquiao has the Mexican “guts” which De La Hoya does not.
It is comments like these that increase the Mexican support for Pacquiao and I would not be surprised if a lot of Mexicans will bet for Pacquiao to win.
Many of my Mexican colleagues in the media and boxing fans in the streets would love to see Pacquiao walk to the ring on December 6th in the company of Mexican legends like Chavez and Eric Morales. That for sure will further endear Pacquiao to the Mexican boxing fans.
On December 6th, if Pacquiao will fight with determination, hunger and pride, as he always does, I have no doubt that he will end up not only as a Philippine icon but a Mexican icon as well.

WOW! What a great source quoting Chavez and a bogus poll with 74 % of the people choosing Pac... lmao! That just proves what i said that Chavez is still bitter about his lost to DLH. Listen you fuc**ing idiot you are not mexican, you do not live in a mexican community, you do not visit mexico monthly. Don't f**king tell me what my people think and then have the nerve to neg rep me because you have some idiot sources! I don't have sources I AM THE SOURCE!! You say mexican people are still bitter because DLH beat chavez? Yeah so it makes alot of sense that they root for "mexicutioner" pac who beat a Barrera, Morales, and rob a Marquez. Btw who was rooting for Oscar when he fought Trinidad?.... baboso no sabes de lo que hablas mama bicho.

I want Pacquiao to win just cause he's my favorite fighter. But I really have a hard time seeing how Oscar will not win this one.
Anyway, who do you guys think the Russians, the Germans the English, the Australians, the Americans, oh hell why not, how about the Arabs are backing? This thread just got interesting...
