McCain would probably be better than Bush who wouldn't but I can't see how anybody would vote for him in a situation where the thing is one heartbeat away from the presidency. And why reward Republicans for being such utter fuckups.

Hopefully gonna stay up through the night tomorrow and watch it all unfold, I hope Obama wins, I don't profess to be an expert on current US politics but he atleast seems to have avision on the economy, which is going to affect us all at the ned of the day.

I'd vote for Obama if I could. Not that I'm particularly left of center. Though I tended to favor his policies this time. And I had a very low impression of McCain and his campaign tactics. Not that Obama is totally innocent, but McCain was something else. And then there is that whack job republican VP candidate. I particularly liked her contentions about climate change, which go massively against worldwide scientific consensus.

True enough. Here, if you watch TV or read the newspaper, you can't avoid US politics. British politics, you have to go looking for it. People in Canada are generally interested in US politics. I would imagine that Canadian politics really doesn't interest too many Americans. Just a guess.Quote:

That's a tough call. Honestly I'm not sure whether or not the majority of Canadians bend over backwards or not to keep Quebec. They certainly get lots of concessions from the federal government. It depends on the province. Ontario would fight to keep Quebec, Alberta and to a lesser extent BC don't care that much. Myself, I think the French/English duality is one of the best parts of the country, but I can understand why the hard core separatists feel the need to have their own country in order to maintain their identity.Quote:

Ontario is cool. Toronto is cosmopolitan city that has just about everything you could want in a city, and there is alo good scenery around the Great Lakes. But my heart is still in British Columbia, it can't be beat for variety and great scenery.

We'd also have to pay an annual sky tax for the use of air and worse of all seeing as they wouldn't be able to rip us off with ridiculous fuel prices for our cars any more we would probably have to pay a massive extra tax for the right to fly at all instead of using our cars.
