Youd have thought I would have been born a Hopkins fan,considering we're from the same neighborhood,but thats really when I became a fan. Round 7 of the 2nd Holmes-Shavers fight always puts a smile on my face. Holmes is dominating, then wham! Holmes comes within a whisker of losing his title. Say one thing about the man, he had amazing recuperative powers. The vid is not the greatest quality.

Ahh nice to see someone mentioning this fight its one of my favorites. Larry Holmes hit the canvas with a thump. A thunderous overhand right from Earnie Shavers, that would of KO'ed 90 percent of the Heavyweight's.Quote:

I have a book coming out soon and, among other things, I write about Timmy. He recently passed away after along illness. I know his former manager Beau Williford and the circumstances were sad indeed. Timmy was one sweet kid.
