Maybe they could fight at heavyweight :lickish:
Not wishing to state the obvious but Hamed gets taken apart... remember those hilarious haymakers he was trying to throw at Marco out of desperation? ;D

Re: nassem hammed v mayweather at featherweight
Hamed was great very powerful and Awkward but Mayweather is way too skilled for him.
-
Re: nassem hammed v mayweather at featherweight
This wouldn't even be competitive Floyd Mayweather Jr by one sided UD. This topic seems to pop up every few months.
-
Re: nassem hammed v mayweather at featherweight
Floyd might even stop him, Floyd hit considerably harder then Barrera down at 130.
Floyd is faster, more skilled. Its interesting that he also had limited difficulties with Emmanuel Augustus, but I think Floyd was trying to make a crowd pleasing fight as opposed to fighting his style. And if Corrales or Castillo who were two huge punchers at 135 couldn't dent Floyd, then Naseem wouldn't be able to either IMO. Floyd had a great chin.
-
Re: nassem hammed v mayweather at featherweight
Allah deserted him against Barrera and he would take the night off in any fight with Mayweather too!
-
Re: nassem hammed v mayweather at featherweight
Hamed may be fighting Diabetes if he is not careful.Whatever the "what if" weight,I think Mayweather (ugh) takes Hameds awkward and turns it into normal.Knocking him Out.

One is a GREAT fighter , the other is Hamed.
Mayweather hammers him to tko defeat inside 9

Re: nassem hammed v mayweather at featherweight
I remember Hamed's site (where a few of us met for the first time ;))
On the front page he used to have his predictions for all the other contenders at the time - Junior Jones, Kelley, Barrera, Mayweather, Morales etc..
He had himself to KO Mayweather in the second.
I believe Hamed would have been stopped around the 10th similar to Hatton - probably with a check hook
-
Re: nassem hammed v mayweather at featherweight
Mayweather would have dominated Hamed, just as he would have dominated guys like Morales or Barrera. Floyd was bigger, stronger, and faster than the featherweights of that era.
-
Re: nassem hammed v mayweather at featherweight
Floyd would have a MASSIVE height and reach advantage.
Naz - KO 4. Fact.

Now to the question I have to go with Mayweather jr but at 130 there is no way floyd jr could of went down to 126 without being drained badly.
Naseem was scared to move up to 130 he already had trouble making weight at 126 and when floyd jr called him out he told him come down to 126.

Bad opinion?
Naz knocked out EVERY 5'8 fighter he ever faced. Couple that with his 85% overall KO record.. statistics tell us Naz by KO. Fact.
You can't dispute the facts. Fact.
;)

Floyd Mayweather has beaten short asses like Naseem Hamed easy Fact ;D
-
Re: nassem hammed v mayweather at featherweight
The only first class fighter Prince Toadface ever fought was Marco Antonio Barrera and he was comprehensively beaten, so much so the Prince turned back into a toad! Mayweather would have embarrassed him in any match up.
-
Re: nassem hammed v mayweather at featherweight
floyd by ko and embarrassment :p

lol. Floyd aint never seen a fighter like Naz.
Naz style is OBVIOUSLY Floyd's worst nightmare. Lightning speed, lightning angles, lightning power, lightning unpredictable leaps and funny face expressions.
Naz hit much harder than middleweights. Fact.
Floyd was made for Naz. Fact.
-
Re: nassem hammed v mayweather at featherweight
I'm surprised people think Floyd would beat Naz with ease. When Naz was with Ingle he was amazingly fast and powerful, awkward as hell, huge confidence and stronger than any featherweight I have ever seen.
I know Barrera beat him and humiliated him but his style was messed about with at that point Emanuel Stewart tried to turn him into a boxer and it was just all wrong for Naz.

It would have been an interesting fight but Mayweather always came into the ring with a plan and he always had more than a plan A. I am sure that Hamhead would have given Mayweather a few problems being that he was a southpaw and all but Mayweather would have picked Hamhead apart in the later rounds. Hamhead was always getting caught and dropped by lesser fighters. Mayweather was a great finisher and although Hamhead hits hard, Floyd's chin is not made of china. Floyd by late stoppage and or UD of course.

Re: nassem hammed v mayweather at featherweight
I'm shocked people are thinking Nas. Mayweather at 130 was AWESOME, like awesome it's to bad he didn't stick around longer. At the time he had one of the better jabs in boxing too, something he abandoned later on in his career. I think it's a bit silly all these topics about mythical matchups but this one screams Mayweather so much it just seems odd.

Ok we'll leave the joking out now and lets try and have a proper debate now mate ;)
Firstly Floyd Mayweather at 130 like Amat said was amazing, his speed was inhuman and his punching power was very good. Check out what he did to Angel Manfredy who was one of the toughest challengers at that time.
Floyd Mayweather is a textbook fighter and he's all wrong for someone like Naseem Hamed. Who does mostly everything wrong, it would be more competitive than i thought at first. Just remembering how unorthdox/slick Naseem Hamed was.
But he still can't adapt and i see Floyd Mayweather winning down the stretch, finding a perfect gameplan of countering Naseem Hamed's wild punches. I could see Naseem Hamed going down a few times just because his balance was all over the place at times, and Floyd Mayweather no matter what position he is in is always ready to counter punch.

Re: nassem hammed v mayweather at featherweight
This is Floyd all the way for me, with too many reasons to mention but handspeed, adaptability, the right style as well as mental and physical toughness comes straight to mind..

OK.
Floyd is far to big - as i already said - he never even fought as low as featherweight.
Naz would have no chance.
There you go. Boring as fuck now though aint it? Nothing to argue about. ;)

Yes, after the Corrales fight, Floyd said in his interview that he'd like to fight Hamed at 130. Merchant laughed and said something to the effect of, "Come on Floyd, after watching you destroy Corrales, Hamed wants no part of you!"
