Khan gets the BETTER of Pac sparring. Fact.
Well.. not quite (sorry).
From Freddy Roach..
'Manny appreciates the quality of the sparring, and there's a little bit of an ego thing, always in boxing. Amir usually gets the best of Manny at the beginning, and Manny usually gets the best at the end, because he wears him down a little bit. But Manny's learning how to deal with the speed of the jab - and this is the important part for Manny - and Amir is holding his own with the world champion and doing well with him.'
This is a good article.

What was Amir Khan wearing American Football headgear ?
Re: Khan gets the BETTER of Pac sparring. Fact.
Pac couldn't handle the speed...'Too fast!' he says of Khan's left lead. 'He is going to be a great fighter, believe me.'
Re: Khan gets the BETTER of Pac sparring. Fact.
Thought it was a great read.
It's amazing where confidence can come from and what it can do to a fighter or person.
Hopefully, Amir IS what some of us think he is.

been saying the same for a while.
Re: Khan gets the BETTER of Pac sparring. Fact.
I still feel Kahns a future world champ, and his attitude since his defeat only goes on to enhance what I believe..

just imagin if kahn had a chin like margarito, the boy would be unstopable....
Re: Khan gets the BETTER of Pac sparring. Fact.
Khan just needs to work on his defense, worry about things he can control. Its an underrated problem for him, all the talk is about his chin but he's too easy to hit, and easy to hit with big wide shots that he doesn't see. He gets too wild, he comes unglued too easily. A lot of nervous energy.

And if i had SRR skills i would never lose too many if's in this thread.
Re: Khan gets the BETTER of Pac sparring. Fact.
Great article Fenster, it sounds like Amir has got the best possible set up now, I mean being the chief sparring partner for Manny Pacquaio as he trains for the biggest fight of the year has got to be good for his game.
I didn't know Gary stretch worked for Roach, it will be interesting to see him in Amir's corner when he fights Fagin.
Will SOB be in Fagin's corner? If so will Andrew be holding the spittoon and will SOB be chomping on his cigar?
I'd love to see that. :D
Re: Khan gets the BETTER of Pac sparring. Fact.
im just stating the point that Amir has some of the best Skills in boxing right now..

Re: Khan gets the BETTER of Pac sparring. Fact.
Khan has amazing boxing skills but unfortunately you're not allowed to fight for a world championship with a headguard on. Frank Warren is scared to put him in with lightweights and Khan is already tight at 135. There's no way he can handle light-welters' power so he's got trouble ahead. If he ever does get in the ring with an elite lightweight his chin is going to get tested again and I think we all know what the result of the test will be.
Re: Khan gets the BETTER of Pac sparring. Fact.
Can't learn a chin. Either have one or you don't.
Is a shame really, because I have followed Khan for a while and he is loaded with skill and speed and I'd like to see him succeed.
Hope he's proves me wrong, but I doubt it.
Re: Khan gets the BETTER of Pac sparring. Fact.
In a full on fight Pac would spark out Khan inside of 20 seconds.
Re: Khan gets the BETTER of Pac sparring. Fact.
I've already said this, you put a helmet and big gloves on Amir Khan beats almost every champion out there. He beat one of the best amateur fighters ever in Kindelan. Take off the helmet his one weakness, his chin is exposed.
Of course this is biased shit that is likely miswording what is actually happening the media always does that to better suit their purposes, and this being a Brittish website/whatever the point is to make Amir Khan look good, and all that being said take away Pacquaio power with protective gear on and AMir Khan would of course cause troubles, I think he probably the best pure technical fighter Pacquaio ever been in with sparring or otherwise(sorry JMM but your easier to hit and not quite as fast or accurate). Also Khan is very tall at 5'9 or 5'10, and like I said the fastest guy Pacquaio probably has ever been in there with, and if Pacquiao is slightly faster, then that is negated by the straighter punching of Amir Khan and the fact that Khan is so much taller.
Also why are people giving Khan so much heat for getting knocked out, did it not happen to David Haye as well?

yeah and like we'll ever let that go
Re: Khan gets the BETTER of Pac sparring. Fact.
Taeth are you on drugs? Are you kidding me? Khan harder to hit then JMM are you shitting me right now or did I read that wrong? Hopefully I just read it wrong.
Re: Khan gets the BETTER of Pac sparring. Fact.
He will be a world champion. Simple as.
It's no surprise he handled Pac well. His chin and his defence are poor but i'm sure he's working on his defence.
A KO loss was always likely to happen when you're fighting infront of massive crowds on prime time tv in the fights where you are supposed to be learning. Learning tends to go out of the window when you are expected to put on a show. You take more risks. He did, and look what happened.
I'm sure he'll bounce back.

I'm sure he'll bounce too. Just a matter of how high, largely depending on the spring of the ring he is in. :-X

Just not hearing ya on this. The guy literally has NO chin, zero ability to absorb a flush shot from anyone capable of breaking eggs. There is always going to be pressure on him to succeed yes, and big crowds can be tough on a young fighter, but if he hasn't gotten used to it yet he never will. I don't doubt it has a lot to do with nerves and he could be harder to hit if he just relaxed... But still not hard enough I reckon. He really has the sort of chin no style can compensate for imo.
