So you are saying that it was about Money? If it was all about the money, why did Floyd not do ODLH II in Dec? You know why? Because Cotto and Margarito were getting it on in July and Floyd shortly after that annoucement of Cotto/Margarito, retired. He knew that if he to fight in Dec and won against ODLH, he would have to fight Margarito or Cotto and we all know Floyd wanted nothing with either. Why is Oscar fighting a little chihuahua in Pacquiao in Dec? Since when is Pac a Welter weight? Why are all these so called great jumping in and out of the 147 with out facing fighters like Cotto/Williams/Margarito? The facts are that there was a linear welterweight title, and your full of shit, and plain ignorant. Margarito was a sparring partner for Oscar for years, a sparring partner that Oscar easily handled. Mayweather beat Oscar convincingly, but when he came back down to welterweight, guess what? Margarito had to rebuild his career because Paul Williams took him to school. Sure he came on strong for the last three or four rounds, but before that Paul outworked him, outboxed him, outmaneuvered him. Who is Manuel Baldomierda, his first name is Carlos. Mayweather only left the welterweight division to face Oscar, why do you call it jumping in and out of the divison? Why isn't MArgarito fighting Paul Williams who plainly beat him? Is he scared to get beaten again? Mayweather could have easily foughten Oscar and retired afterwards, hell he retired to before beating Oscar again. It was a different time in Mayweather's career, he had made money from his fights with Baldomir, De La Hoya, and Hatton.
My question is if Mayweather is such a pussy, then why did He take on Corrales who p4p was a way bigger threat than Margarito is right now. Why did he rematch the toughest opponent in his career in Castillo? Why did he risk fighting Judah who's style was very bad for Mayweather, why did he go up to 154 when he is a natural 130-135 pounder to fight the best fighter in his entire career?
The point is that Margarito offered him shit, at the same time Margarito was a valid opponent, Carlos Baldomir offered him way more, in terms of money, belts, noteriety. Read the ring magazine leading into that fight, one of the two guys analyzing the fight thought Carlos would break Mayweather down, it wasn't considered that onesided at the time. Carlos had beaten the quick Judah, he had withstood the power of Gatti, people thought his size and persistance would wear the much smaller Mayweather down.
In the mean time, like I said Paul Williams called out Margarito, then beat him convincingly. Now its Margarito who won't fight him. Margarito was just fortunate to find the right opponent in Cotto who was warrior without the physical toughness or quickness of foot to beat him.
