Not a big fan of the Cruiser division to be honest. Not many attractive fights to be made...I'm not sure this one would have been a classic.
Any division that has Herbie Hide going for a title at 39 has to be fairly weak!
This is a joke Nicky Cook pulling out with a sniffle and now the messing with this fight the bill is turning in to a joke.
What a joke. This was just about the best fight on the card.
I was contemplating backing Banks at the odds too.
Why has he pulled out?

what started out to be a very good boxing card has turned out to be a c**p one.
It was always gona bea poor card anyway but now just the olympic failures are left .

Clinton would not take it at this short notice. Joke card. Lets hope the fights are on ITV because Cook and Enzo need that exposure, not be hidden away under Khan where no one can see them. Maybe that is their ploy. ;)
man this hs weight issue or somethign else written all over it. Banks pulled out late saturday evening UK time... not long before he was due to fly over. it took the press form then until now to get this.
Normaly if a fighter is hurt and they are out of a fight the press know within minutes.
As has been mentioned earlier, this card is quickly falling apart around Frank Warren. I'm sure they'll find someone to step in for Banks, but probably not going to be a top name, and maybe Warren can persuade the WBO to keep the title on the line....but seriously its not going to be the fight that Maccarinelli's been waiting for.
I was considering getting the PPV, but with only ODLH v Pac the remaining big attraction for me, I think I'll be joining the crew watching Carl Froch finally get his world title shot.

Enzo would most likely have beaten Banks convincingly. Now, a fight against who and at such short notice? That must be annoying.
The BBC reckons Hide is a strong candidate for the replacement. About as good that you can get on this notice, and also has the power to pose some trouble (bring back bad memories) for Enzo.

How many fights have you seen of Johnathon Banks ? because this fight IMO was pretty 50-50. Johnathon Banks can hit and he has shown heart in the past. Both men have limitations both men can be hurt, i thought either man could win at anytime IMO. But Herbie Hide is a good replacement if they can get him.Quote:

Hide has kept himself very sharp and in good shape and I could deffo see him rattling Enzo big time but whether hed want to take it on this short notice, not having time to prepare any sort of tactics for probably his last big fight (if he were to lose) is a different matter.
Hide has slowed, and is still very gung ho but this is a real fight, we all know Hide will come to knock out Enzo and he may even have Enzo a bit worried, Enzo will know Hide is a puncher and is quick and aggressive and also a fuucking fruit loop;D

Well Frank needs to hurry up and get this sorted what with Cook pulling out can't see Sky Sports swallowing the Enzo Mac fight falling through. I also think that Rogan vs Harrison will be fight of the night on Warren bill.

If Herbie Hide was going to sign, I think we'd have heard something by now, and an American, BJ Flores has said it won't be him, but states that he was offered the fight, soooo.....with less than three days to the start time of the fight, we're probably looking at some domestic competition in all honesty, unless the Hide thing comes through fairly late. Usual suspects domestically, small heavies like Mark Krence, Micky Steeds, or maybe someone from Europe.Quote:

The Puerto Rican knockout specialist, who has stopped nine of his 11 victims, has been drafted into the Judgement Night bill, live on Sky Box Office.
Sports Network have been searching for a replacement ever since Johnathon Banks pulled out after injuring an ankle in training and the 31-year-old has answered the call.
Alvarez will now get the chance of a lifetime to challenge former holder Maccarinelli for the WBO cruiserweight belt on the same bill as Amir Khan's comeback fight.
It will be by far the biggest night of his fledgling professional career - spent largely at light-heavyweight - and the first time he has boxed in Europe in 12 paid contests (11(9KO)-1-0).
But he comes to the Excel Arena with a fine knockout record having finished nine inside the distance, seven inside the first two rounds. He is also the reigning WBO Latino light-heavyweight champion.
His only loss was against rated Uzbekistani Alexander Alexeev, who was ounce touted as a possible foe for Davd Haye - the man who took the WBO belt off Maccarinelli, only to vacate it and leave it open for the Welshman to reclaim
