Oscar fought with no passion, no heart, no determination and quit on his stool.

I think there are three possible things that could have happened here:-

1) Getting down to 147 drained everything out of DLH. (unlikely since he came in two pounds under)

2) DLH was hampered by an illness or injury that we are unaware of or

3) He threw the fight.


I've been watching Oscar a long time, and tonight he was awful. He didn't throw any fucking punches. Damn hard to win a fight without throwing shots.

This fight farce was a celeb show drama from jump off.Im just glad its over frankly.

DLH was pure garbage. Absolutely agree with that.

He was bust up, exhausted after 6...and all that done by a fighter that was 3 weight classes outside what he was a year ago. That is a humiliation and schooling of the highest order.

And I loved every second of it. Thats got to be the end of the orange phoney now, surely.

Why would anybody want to pay 55 dollars to watch him again?? ;D

If ODH threw that fight I have more respect for him than ever. That's one tough bastard to take a beating like that willingly. Not to mention the embarrassment. I think he was overtrained based upon the weight and the fact he was flat from the get go. Pac looked great but ODH looked weak and slow from the start.

I don't think ODH is tough enough or thick skinned enough to take that beating on purpose. And the public humiliation to top it off.:confused:

Exactly. Pure beatdown. Nothing more, nothing less. Fighters do what they do to get fights...and the path to them. It is never an excuse, or shouldn't be...even if its true with him being drained.

And it certainly was not rigged. Oscar was genuinely messed the hell up.

I knew there would be excuses but I know the truth, Oscar's thong was on too tight and it was bothering him and that is why she looked so stiff ;D I think had he worn high heels he/she would have moved a lot more ;D

Oscar didn't give his all.

He was doing that until he tasted a two-punch combo. Right about 30 seconds into the first round.

Then the complexity of his gameplan eroded every second, and every hit he received until he was reduced to a shell of a fighter, cowering in fear.

Wondering, more than fighting... How can you overcome being hit one after another in relentless fashion, and the other hand be faced with one darn elusive target.

IT was a psychological breakdown. It is what Freddie calls, "can't pull the trigger anymore".

I haven't watached yet, but I did say all along that this would happen, the fight stunk from the moment it was signed. Not gonna take anything away from Manny, coz I'm sure he fought great as usual, but DLH was never planned to win this fight ;)

I felt that sort of frustration when he was fighting Floyd, and at some stages he was executing a winning game plan, and then without much pressure from Floyd, he would just drop the game plan and not execute anything... I felt the same with with Jones in his later fights.. If he threw some punches he could have turned the fights, as well as take something off the offense of their opponent.. But an opponent who isn't fighting back isn't hard to beat... A good defense really does need to be a good offense.. Or at least, ANY offense.. And the fact he offered little if ANY offense tonight pretty much secured his fate regardless of what Manny did...

It's frustrating as hell watching a fighter not fight back.. But obviously mentally he was done...

I think Oscar has been shot for years. That's why he fought only once or twice a year and lets face it the only guys he beat since losing to Hopkins weren't exactly top shelf material. He just became a whore and sold his ass to the highest bidder.

His footwork and balance looked terrible from the outgo, manny was able to turn and hit him while he fumbled around a 90 degree turn. He's never had the quickest footwork, but that almost looked like new guys learing footwork in there. Maybe it was just a terrible matchup for him. Either way we will never know, but it was rather dissapointing.

Haven't watched the fight so can't comment.

Pac = has the biggest fan base in the sport
Hatton = has the second biggest fan base in the sport

so a hatton match up with pac is far more sellable now after last nights win and a massive moneymaker :rolleyes:

Yeah, I heard that Oscar weighed less than Pac on fight night too but I don't believe it - Oscar looked much bigger.

I'm glad you agree with me that he didn't give everything he had. I just felt that he didn't really fire a shot. Get angry, get mean. I found his performance spiritless.

And the fight's ending was unsatisfying to me. I mean, Oscar practically bounced off his stool to go congratulate Pac Man.

That's kind of a contradiction, if Hatton and Pac have the combined biggest fan base in the sport then that fight doesn't need any selling.

All Pac had to do was prove his credentials fighting a credible interim opponent at 140 and that fight would have been just as sellable.

ODLH then wouldn't have had to humiliate himself in the process

It was the body shots in the early round followed by so many hits in the face that made DLH hesitant to attack Pac.:cool:

It's clear that Pac's speed is so much against DLH. DLH was not overtrained neither did he rigged the fight. PAc was just absolutely superior. Pac's flexibility and speed would make anybody very slow.:cool:

Oscar showed what other older fighters have shown us....when you're old and you drop weight you're no good. Chris Byrd, Roy Jones Jr., etc etc etc...because of the weight loss you're slower, your reflexes are shot, and your stamina is gone. Oscar can still sell fights and he can still win but yes of course you have to question his motivation.


Oscar could have some big paydays (which is of course what he likes) vs Margarito, Mosley, Williams, Forrest, and anyone else that will fight at 150 and up.

Manny is now set to earn HUGE money vs guys like Hatton and Floyd Mayweather (who you have to assume is waiting for Manny).
