the people who stay in on friday nights...

Ok, so i had the day off, figured i'd go out early and have a cracking night, town must be heaving now this close to x mass, my bank account is very healthy - it was looking to be a cracking night.

however, my best friend and his wife are in the hospital and are expecting their first child, beens tuck there since like 9 this morning, so i get the call asking to go down theirs to look after their pooch, walk it feed etc...

So i'm wondering, what the hell do people do when they stay in on a friday night? the only time i ever stay in is if i have been working late, and by then i have normaly stopped off or had a drink around town first before coming home so the night is pretty much over...

Checked the Tv guide and well, it's shit lol - so what do people do?

couldn't do that lol, enjoy dinrking and partying way to much man

I done a favour to the guy who run my local once and worked the bar on a saturday night.

He was short staffed, and being my local i had been in my fair few share of lockins there, and you know how they go, you end up putting it through the till your self, so knowing that i knew he asked me to work a shift.

fuck, i spent more money drinking while working then i did on a normal night, not just that everyone was buying me one with their ones, i don;t know how many pints and sambukas i went thorugh that night but it was close to an all time record for me lol, and i do enjoy a drink lol


i must of been fucked coz i woke up with one of the bar girls at her place the next day, nice body but, well lets just say a brown paper bag would come in handy for her fi you know what i mean:P

The same way some look forward to going out on friday's i look forward to being in the house and kicking it with my family. You pretty much need a vest and pistol to go out around here these days, i got too much too loose. We stay plenty entertained and then when they go to sleep i get to play with momma.

Stayed in last night (at work now and can't handle the no sleep then straight to work business like i used to) chilled out, poled the missus then chilled out some more then bed.
House is all done now and looking wicked so it's cool to just lounge about and my flash spacious pad... and after 12 odd years of dj'ing every weekend it's nice to just go out once a month and hit it hard...

Spent pretty much the every weekend from 1994 to 2006 in a dj booth then on to after parties till silly o'clock on monday or tues morning and took so many pills,nearly turned into a hoover etc that i'm cool just chilling with my missus!!

I don't like being hassled by strange dunk people blowing smoke around me. I train to be fit and i try to look after my lungs - i don't need someone leering over me spilling their drink on me, slurring their words and puffing their smoke into my face.

When i spend time with friends I like to be able to hear them talk and have a laugh - not struggle to lip-read and signal each other over music. A bit of a dance is ok but I wouldn't want it to be the main event.

If I do go out I prefer to go out for dinner or lunch - good food and good conversation with good people always makes me happy :) Especially if there's something chocolate-like for desert! ;D

I dont really go out so much these days. I used to go out a lot on the weekends and stay up all night, but I just cant be bothered these days. I will go to the local sometimes if Im really at a loose end but otherwise I stay home a lot. Im probably getting old.

B works Saturdays early so Jenna and I scour Youtube for fights.
She's the only one that can tolerate my habit, at 6 months I think she's fond of Mayweather, Whittaker and McCallum;D
She'll be in bed by 9 and I might make a run to the shop for some Chocolate milk:)

My Mam and Dad will be winding down with a bottle of wine and I usually throw on some Johnny Cash for them on the laptop. Play some cards then with my simpletons siblings and maybe one more fight on the tube before bed

Mate last few weeks ive been BANG AT IT!! Must of lost about stone and half with the amount of drugs/alcohol i have been doing, im taking it easy till crimbo now i need to bulk up for the crimbo/new year sessions that lie ahead.

I play indoor football Friday night and Sunday out door. The rest of the time I am with the kids. Weekend goes way too fast.

I always felt boring compared to uni friends when i turned down invites to pub crawls.

The difference for me was that I was spending my spare cash on training expenses and enjoying it and for me a night out was really expensive.

I would have to pay about $25 for the shirt, $40 odd on drinks and food, $25 on a taxi home and i earnt all my own money working part time. i paid board to live at home or my own rent out of home.

Most of my uni friends did not have any sport to be obsessed with and were fully supported by their parents with no need to work. They were richer in time and money and didn't come up with anything else they wanted to fill their time with.

Back then i felt left out but in reality i think we all have to learn to wipe our own bums eventually and having a bit of a head start has probably been good for me in the long run.

Also having an interest in sport has had a lot of other pay offs too - friends, experiences, challenges, better health etc

I have an obsessive personality - I needed sport as an outlet everyday rather than just a binge on the weekend.

Ultimately i have stories to tell about meeting elite Kenyan runners, running in Brunei, boxing in Japan, meeting Scrap etc etc etc. Wouldn't trade that for all the pub crawls in the world now :)
