Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
Good, hopefully this makes him get his ass back in the right for a showdown with one of the many deserving opponents in line to face him.
-
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
Yeah, he will most likely get in the ring now.
-
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
...And he still calls himself "money"?
-
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
Just cos he owes the tax i doubt hes broke, guys who earn millions pay their taxes as late as possible so the money gains intrest so unless he has legal fees he's doing a standard thing

But that's still 6.2 million dollars he had to pay.

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
And people ask why he is so unlikeable.

$6.2 million is probably shrapnel to mayweather!

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
lets see him face the winner of pac-hatton. I will tell you this, if floyd think he could beat paul williams at 154, hes got another thing coming !!!

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
No surprise here. Floyd throws money around like a fool. He has no clue how to manage his money and will end up broke. Floyd's always tried to impress everyone he comes in contact with. Now he hangs with other millionaires so to impress them he has to throw away some serious coin.
He needs to grow up and become comfortable with himself as a man. He has so much to be proud of, but he thinks its all about the money. Floyd, you are one of the best fighters of our generation and have some great kids who love you. Who the hell cares who is or isn't impressed with you. Get back in the Ring and set things straight by beating Margarito and then Pacman and then save your money so you don't go broke again and have to come out of retirement when you're in your late 30s and no longer the best.

Exactly. What I found more ridiculous is that he trash talked about all the money he had while standing besides Oscar De La Hoya . ODLH will make more money than ANY boxer out there even when he's retired.
"Money" Mayweather? Maybe sooner or later he will change his nickname to "Debt" Mayweather.

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
The kicker is,depending on how late he is....they'll likely get him double that in penalties & interest:-X.

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
PBF better not tinker tanker with this situation. His best interest is to settle this and soon! He can ask many a celebrity and they will point to the IRS and back taxes as one terrifying bind to be in, and an imminent doom awaiting if not treated with the right perspective/respect, and settle.
The Brown Bomber got to fighting bears (extreme) in the ring just to pay off tax debts. In the end, it is (taxes) what got him humbled and left a shell of the man most people know as Joe Louis, the legendary former heavyweight champion of the world. His last employment as I recall or one of his last, was as a greeter at MSG, sad indeed!
Taxes, is no laughing matter. It is what brought down Al Capone down (tax evasion) when everything else cannot, and failed!
So the "money" better get the fights while relevant to his career, if needed be, to settle this hiccup, otherwise as mentioined, when the back interests and etc. snowballs, he will likewise find himself in a boxing match with bears in his old age.

As my Mother told me, it takes money to Swank ;D
-
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
I dont think he cant afford it,he made 20 million just for that WWE stunt, let a lone what PBF Productions and the record company makes, let alone interest on all the money he's allready banked.
I somehow doubt we'll see Floyd having to be a greeter in Vegas

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
I am sure the "Money" is fine. From the little birdy...

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
Floyd doesnt even know what the word tax means. Sure, he can cover it. But he is hardly the type of person you would ever expect to make astute financial decisions.

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
I have long predicted PBF will be broke if he doesn't grow up. "Money" doesn't go as far as you think. Maintaining the lifestyle has a huge cost, taxes is a big part of that.
You buy a million dollar home and have to pay taxes on it for the rest of your life. Celebs think cause they bought the house they don't have to budget. You have to make your "mortgage" payment to IRS or else they will gestapo your ass.

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
Well although I doubt very much that this will come anywhere close to bankrupting him it may drag him out of retirement and back into the ring, which to me is the best place for him because love him or hate him he is the best fighter in the world at the minute.

Record companies are notorious for losing money faster than they make it. I don't think PBF productions has survived long enough to be considered a viable company.
He didn't make 20 million from WWE.
Banks pay interest???? How much these days? Aside from that doesn't he keep his money in a backpack under his bed?
I think PBF will be coming out of retirement cause he'll see how fast that money goes. His earnings are small compared to Tyson, Holyfield, etc. Not door greeter but he'll be fighting again.

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
For once I agree with Dan here... Standard procedure.. You guys would jump on anything Floyd does... If he helped an old lady across the road you would complain he wasnt walking fast enough:rolleyes:

not being a jerk to you guys... But none of us have a clue about what Floyd really does with his money and who manages it and how viable he is... No one knows what his investments are and what his debt to income is... Believe me just cause you see him throwing $100's around for publicity stunts is the same as someone throwing $1's around when your making $200,000 a year its just a drop in the bucket

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
The way Floyd talks about all the money he has blah blah blah I am sure he would mention all his investments and stuff. Tyson had lots of yes-men around him and when his money dissapeared in a puff of smoke so did all his yes-men.

The first part is true, but throwing around hundreds when you're making 200k a year won't last long. In reality he's a small fish when it comes to making money. He's WAY down the totem pole on the list of big makers that went broke.
I don't want to see him broke, but seriously he had 2 good years, he doesn't even make the top 500 list for net worth. 2 good years to make it and 6 or 7 dumb years and it's gone. I think everyone can agree that he seems to be living the lifestyle of the guys that end up broke.

He made approximately one million dollars for his WWE appearance. The $20 million dollar payday was part of the angle(script).

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
:-\ I hate the tax office, just a bit more than Floyds ego.
-
Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
When ever you owe the IRS millions of dollars, you can consider yourself broke arleady.
Floyd made good with the fights, oscar and hatton. Thats it. That wont last him a life time, and it definitely wont last him 10 years the way his going.
The WWE thing he did, paid him nothing close to 20 million. more like 2 million.
His Record label? doesn't exist.
Fruad Gayfeathers shouldn't be called "money"
Thats now reserve for Money Pacquiao ;) biotch! ;D

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
I think you guys are missing the point.
He's being charged Income tax. Th high rate of tax is 21% is it not?
If 6.2 mill is 21% of his earnings he has little to worry about.

Re: Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes $6.2 million in federal income taxes
frankly the funniest thing on the article is the fact that the site is a boxing site, 'now boxing' but they manage to spell bout as bought..
