So I guess Al Franken is 225 votes in front of Norm Coleman and barring a lawsuit (as if) it looks like he will be a Minnesota senator??? WTF?
I haven't been following this much but Minnesota actually voted Al Franken into office? I think it's official Minnesota has the best sense of humor into the entire nation.
In other news, Caroline Kennedy was "surprised" by her own voting record and glad that it was brought to her attention that she like never actually votes in elections. Ok Caroline.
And Jeb Bush would be an excellent president, so says Bush.

I turned off politics for a while after the election, I had just watched too much CNN and MSNBC for too long. So honestly I don't know all the particulars about this as I'm just getting back into being informed. I've said as much a few times in reference to Quebec separation from Canada, there's been several votes over the years and the separatists have lost every one of them. Some of them have been extremely close. But they'll keep having their votes, whenever they manage to gain the balance of power in their province, until they finally win one. You can't make the argument that Gore would have been much better without considering what could have happened if he was President.
Do you remember hearing about Al Gore laughing at Ollie North for being scared of Osama Bin Laden? How would that have gone over after 9/11? It's difficult to really figure out how the American people would have reacted to that when you look back at it....maybe people pay no attention to it and maybe Al Gore is seen as a giant buffoon who dropped the ball BIG TIME. It's a legitimate thought if 9/11 would have happened no matter who was President....because who knows maybe it wouldn't have but that's something that really sticks out to me as something Al Gore would have gotten skewered by.
And after the scandals Bill Clinton had, (Lewinsky, White Water, Travelgate, Troopergate, Sandy Berger, etc.) could Al Gore have survived 1 term without a major scandal and if he did have a scandal would he still have been a viable candidate for a second term?

Yes he was, if Gore did invade Iraq that would have been a mistake. It doesn't matter how many troops we sent in, what the hell are we doing there? What's the goal? It's like Vietnam there is no mission plan we're just there to keep it from caving in on itself. You can't make an argument any other way to because that's true. If the goal was to rescue Iraq from the Baath party then the goal has been accomplished right? So what are we doing?

The guy at 538.com is some baseball saber stat whiz who built a math model for predicting election results and predicted the 2008 State/national/presidential elections exactly right. He predicted a narrow GOP win in Indiana and it went narrow Dem, but other than that he predicted everything right down to electoral votes/percentage point wins etc. A first-time baseball guy put the pollsters to shame. He's almost as Infallible as I am. Anyway, he explains why the WSJ is as usual full of it. Franken won fair and square. \read the link, it's full of facts and evidence.
