Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
Does Pacquiao deserve a 60% share in a fight against Hatton?
-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
Not at all. He is a quality fighter facing another hugely popular fighter. That other fighter is top of the pile at 140 where Pac wants to fight though, its a 50:50 split.
-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
I don't think he deserves 60-40. It should be 50-50. Hatton is the kingpin at 140. Pacquiao is coming to 140. Pacquiao is P4P #1, but in terms of fans, I think they're equal. Hatton did 850,000 with Mayweather. Pacquiao hasn't done more than 400,000 without ODLH. I don't understand how he feels he deserves 50-50. If I were Hatton, I wouldn't take the fight unless it's 50-50 just on principle.

And Pac wouldnt get a bigger fight elsewhere. I hope its just accountants talk we are dealing with and it gets settled soon. Ive been to the Philipines and its pretty cheap out there, god knows what Pac needs the 60% for! Its just crazy talk. With UK accountancy Hatton needs the bigger share!
-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
I think Hatton needs Pac alot more than Pac needs Hatton, Hatton doesn't have any other huge fights out there(unless he moves up but don't think he will again) Pac on the other hand has alot of big options(PBF,Marquez 3) what percent did HAtton take against PBF?
-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
I can't see any reason to justify Pac claiming 60%
He's not the one with the title.
I don't believe he's the bigger draw.
He's actually more accustomed to fighting in the U.S. than Hatton.
If Pac wants 60% he should put on a championship stake, the winner walks away with 60% the loser 40%
-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
Hell yea he does....and so does hatton for that matter. What i mean is these guys after all the hard work and punches they have taken deserve whatever they can weasel their way into right or not. But in this case a 50/50 seems more than fair since both bring a ton to the table. Let's talk about baseball ..when it comes to money not deserved.
-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
50:50 split...
I wonder how many of the yes votes were from pac fan poys... If you asked them whether Pac deserved all of the world's wealth they would still say yes.
-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
Hatton's deserves a 50/50 split he is the number 1 at LW and its his belt on the line.Manny is P4P number 1 i know but Hatton will bring 1000s of fans from the UK with him then there is the PPV from the UK.
If Pacquiao tries to get a fight with Mayweather there is no way he would get a 60-40% in his favor it would be Mayweather that would get the higher pertentage,so why try this against Hatton.
-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
No Pac is making his excuses and pricing himself out.
-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
I can't see an argument why it should be anything other than 50:50. Pac is p4p no.1 & obviously doesn't deserve anything less than half of what's on offer, but the simple fact is that with ODLH probably either retired or 1 fight away from it, Hatton is now the biggest draw in the sport in terms of the numbers of fans he brings to a fight & the PPV numbers he does (in the UK at least).
Also, I don't know how it is in the States, but in the UK, Pacquiao lacks the basic name recognition that other boxers like Shane Mosley, PBF & RJJ have amongst your general sports fans who will maybe buy an event like that.
Like I say that is in the UK though. I mean I don't know the difference between Hatton & Pacquiao in the US in terms of name recognition, but I'd be interested to know if someone impartial could tell me.

This is the way I see it too. It's a question of who needs who most. This is the only winnable fight out their for Hatton (due to his size advantage) that would considerably elevate his status p4p which he's obsessed with.

Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
Who gives a fukk? Just fight so I can see one of them lose.

Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
It should be 50/50. Hatton is the bigger draw and will pull in more PPV buys, but Pac is the more accomplished boxer. Pac won't get more money fighting someone else. Hatton could prob get the same money fighting Oscar at Wembley...even after what happened on Dec 6th.
If Ricky takes less he's stupid. I honestly can't see a way in which he wins this fight and he won't be in a good position to bargain if he continues to fight on after this one.

Hatton will bring many more fans to Vegas, thus bringing Vegas more revenue.

Nope,if Jones could try to hold Hopkins up for 70-30 at one point, when Hopkins had 3 belts and Jones had none,I think Pac having all the heat on him right now gets 60-40
Im more of a Hatton fan then I am a Pac fan,but I know whose hot.
Look at how Kessler got held up at gunpoint by Calaghe, and he had more belts. Kessler went in to the ring hurt, because he was positive that if he didnt,he wouldnt get him again.

No he won't. There's a lot of flips out here in the west coast.
-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
50/50 seems fair to me.
PacMan is the P4P No.1 but Hatton is the man who will bring the fans and UK PPV buys - maybe Hattons people should argue that they keep the UK share.

They went for Morales-Pac. They went for Barrera-Pac. And they went for Marquez-Pac. The thing with flips is they handle there alcohol better and don't sing the same annoying song over and over. So there not as noticeable. But they're there.

Plus they're much smaller, so can probably be hidden by all the fat Americans in attendance ;D

Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
With out a doubt he deserves a bigger portion, but his promoter f....up! And his Lawyer is an idiot!
Such as it is... he gets what he gets.
-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
No way Pacman deserves more! 50/50 is fair.Team Hatton have let Manny have the fight in the US aswell now he wants the lions share of the money.
-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
Sure he deserves more...
hes the p4p no1 champ coming waaayyyy out of his weight group.
has alot more fans than Ricky ((just check out both guys forums ;) ))
and Pac is coming off the win of his career.
Ricky is coming off a loss and and 2 easy comeback fights
BUT... Pac should have asked from the start because to me it now looks like hes after an out on what is a losable fight and one he dosn't really need.
so 50/50 is prob the correct amount at this stage of the game IMO
-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
I'm in favor for PAC having the lion's share of the purse split, maybe not less than 55% due to these reasons:
- PAC the no. 1 P4P boxer
- PAC the "hottest" boxer right now
- PAC the early betting favorite against Hatton
- Hatton got only 30% share in the PBF fight (from what I've read)
- PAC got only 35% share in the Hoya fight
- PAC the no. 1 boxer at 140 (according to BoxRec ;D )
- PAC has huge fanbase (maybe a very close second to Hatton's)
.
-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
Absolutely not. Should be 50/50. Anything else is just disrespectful to the other guy, greedy and arogant on the part of the guy making more imo.

Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?

Let the word wars begin among fans!!!!
In the end, it will be 60:40 for Pac or else Marquez/ Juarez will be seeing action against Pac this May.
And Hatton.... will have none.;)
I'm a Hatton fan!!!:p

Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
hahaha. That's what I heard from a Philippine TV. Hehehe. I was also shocked. Team Pacquaio is doing some psy-war. :o
Anyway, I've decided not to debate about this coz negotiations are dirty. The two should fight and money should be decided later. I like C-Los suggestion.
40-40. The winner gets the remaining 20.
Btw, I've owned you more than enough VD and stop with your one-liner. hehehe.;D
edit: coz you ain't cute....

Even the most rabid Pac fans won't tolerate a Juarez match. Will they? I mean, my God... it's Rocky fucking Juarez.
-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
For a second I thought you were picking R. Juarez....to beat home boy chris John :o;D.Juarez gets more re-do's than a passed out prom queen.

Don't make me bring out the thread. Last time I checked, I destroyed you like 20-8.

Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
55-45 is fair IMO.
but
they should come up with a deal like 45% each guaranteed and the winner gets the 10%

I think (and agrees with someone) that PAC draws bigger PPV buys IN THE US than Hatton does...

In the U.S. They're fighting for the world title.

Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
No I personally believe that this should be a straight 50-50 fight and if they are fighting at 140 maybe if anyone, Hatton should have the higher share as he is "The Man" in that division!
-
Re: Poll: Does Pacquiao Deserve a 60% Share Against Hatton?
Even Bob Arum is saying Pac doesn't deserve a 60% cut ;)
"There's no way he's getting the 60-40," Arum said. "Unless he comes to his senses and his people start acting intelligently ... we'll see if we can keep it together, but the split is supposed to be 50-50. We've all agreed to it. Now, people are whispering in Pacquiao's ear. If they keep pushing for 60-40, Hatton and [his promoter Richard] Schaefer are pulling the plug."
Arum said Hatton and Schaefer would "be in the right" for pulling out of a 140-pound showdown
