Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
I've just seen Tyson Fury is lined up to fight Marcell Zeller in his second pro fight. He's currently 21-3 with 20 KO's :o
Tyson Fury
It's great that he's confindent and all but I don't know any fighter, even the current greats that started their career against such opponents.
21-3 with 20 KO's that's the kind of opponent you might be risked against after 15 fights or something, but for a second pro fight seems like they are playing roulette with Tyson's career.
Any thoughts?

Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
I saw him (Tyson Fury) in his pro debut and was not all that impressed with his abilities if I'm honest. This fella he is fighting really does not seem all that looking at who he has fought.
-
Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
He outweighed his opponent by 70 pounds aswell... I don't know how much stock they should be putting into his debut but it looks like too much ;)

Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
I wouldn't worry about Zeller too much, his record is the definition of padded.

I just had a look at his record and it is completely padded the best name is Cengic Kog who he lost to early in his career.
He's coming off a 2 round loss so it is probably safe to say he'll get Ko'd by Fury.
Fury's 1st opponent didn't offer anything offensively maybe this guy will.
The main thing with Fury is that he looks like he needs to tone-up - his stomach looks soft - hopefully now he is a Pro the training regime will step up.

Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
Tyson Fury plainly lacks the athletic ability to get to the top, he is too slow.
-
Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
I didnt see much power in his punches , Fury will not go to the very top
-
Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
his record seems quite padded, and hasnt he taken the fight on 1 days notice ?? i dont remember hearing bout zeller before yesterday in regards to fighting fury

Like most really big guys, he doesn't seem to have the coordination or speed to get much leverage or body movement into his punches.

Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
For a giant i think his speed is surprisingly impressive.
Mick Hennessy is generally pretty brave with the matchmaking.. fearless compared with FW ;)
-
Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
Tyson is a good prospect, and a nice Kid with it. He will do well.

What do you think of the decision to put him in with a banger so early Scrap?
I'm sure this Zellar is no world beater but he's still 21-3 with 20 KO's that seems an unnessesary risk for a second pro fight. I know they originally wanted Lee Swaby for his debut as well.
It just seems like they are matchmaking him as if he's a proven amatuer world champ on a fast track to a world title or something.
I mean at the very least this Zeller is likely to be a decent journeyman with a good punch, not someone I'd put my fighter in until he'd had 6 or 7 fights at least.
I just wonder what the hurry is with him seeing as he's only 21 and heavyweights generally don't peak until about 30 anyway
-
Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
For a 21 year old He has experience, Boxed at a good level as an Amatuer. The other guy has been Boxing Plums, I would think its a 3 round job for Tyson probably sooner.

Very true about Hennesey.
He sounds like Warren but is a pretty level headed guy.
I have a stream if anyone wants it.;)

Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
The German guy is wearing a kilt......to fight in!!!
Bizarre shit
-
Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
That was a Premature stoppage.
-
Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
When I heard the name I expected him to look good but he didnt . He certainly doesnt live up to the name Tyson cuz how many times did he land his best shots flush and yet he could never drop the guy

The guy could take a good shot though.

Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
to anyone watching the fight on itv 4 , is thaxton pissed ? or does he always tlak in that stop, start manner
-
Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
Yeah, I think if the fight had gone on, Fury doesnt train very hard, which is plain to see and he was puffing but then so was the German.
Hennessy telling the camera that hes going to shake up the world;D:rolleyes:
As for comparing him to Foreman:o Its all arm punches;)

Agreed, he only dropped his hands to complain about ANOTHER low blow. Seriously I started this fight supporting Fury, but the amount of low blows he was doing was, frankly, taking the piss. He was about 5 or 6 inches bigger than Zeller & yet he kept hitting him below the belt. I mean I don't think Zeller was going to win, but it seemed like the ref was just looking for an excuse to stop it
-
Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
WOW tough crowd ;D
i think for his second fight he done well... stamina might be his downfall but as of now hes a breath of fresh air to the UK heavies.
with the right training and path he could become a big star IMO
Deffo one to watch ;)

Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
He won and they were right the Germain was rubbish
-
Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
Look how may fighters Marcell Zeller fought with 0 wins. I think Ty Fields...er...I mean Tyson Fury will be ok.

Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
any stick he gets before his 8th or 9th fight as long as he wins is a fucking joke, look at who mayweather fought when he was at this stage, fighters with LOSING RECORDS. the only person never to ov fought a guy with a losing record who became a champ is de la hoya i think
no stick for the big man who came early from his honeymoon to get his first fight on tv, go tyson!
-
Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
I hope he is the real deal. To me he looks to be carrying about 10lbs too much weight but if he can trim down I think he could be ok. Also with the weight loss and some heavy roadwork I fancy his stamina to improve.

Yeah I think he needs to slim down and tone up a bit, he was about 8lbs lighter than he was on his pro debut and looked better for it, he looked much sharper and faster to me.
-
Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
What do you want,He had about 22 bouts in the Amatuers mostly at International Level. I thought He looked Okay, plus the other guy came to win
-
Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
The real Tyson onlly had 20 odd amature bouts and I reckon hed have flattened the German in the first.
Fair enough its early days but dont boast your shaking up the world when clearly he aint.
I had to laugh when the German said in the prefight dressing room interview that hes a "knockouter"
He will go quite far until he fights someone with a touch of class that can find that chin because at the mo he doesnt defend well and isnt gonna learn how to till its too late.

Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
Furys not paying £10,000 aweek for sparring Partners and having His arse wiped is He ;D

It's too early to say he's going to fail. He didn't blast the guy out in one round becuase unsuprisingly like practically every other heavyweight who has ever lived he doesn't have the devastating one punch knockout power that Tyson had.
What he does has is a high workrate, tremendous speed for such a big guy and a real desire to fight. His lack of one punch ko power won't matter if he has a chin which we obviously can't tell yet.
Watching him reminded me of watching Paul Williams a couple years ago, non stop punches, not much power behind them but he just keeps throwing.
Once he gets his cardio and conditioning right with some more experience he could be really exciting to watch.
I was impressed. For a 21 year old kid in his second fight he looked great. And fighting a guy 21-3 with 20 KO's is more impressive a second fight than just about anyone I can think of.
I just hope they don't rush him too soon as an early loss would really harm his career momentum.

Damn i thought i had u on DLH being the only guy to not fight someone with a losing record with Kostya Tszyu. KT only ever fought one guy with a losing record in his second fight. Nedrick simmons 8-19-1. He fought Juan LAporte in his 4th fight Livingstone Bramble in his 10th and Hector Lopez in his 11th. In fact the combined record of his opponents before coming champ is
269-66-12 a 78% win record. Not bad. Proves if your good enough u can be moved along quickly.

Yeah but Tszyu and ODLH were beasts and I would have paid a fortune to see that fight.

Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
He has quite a bit going for him, but still has a lot to learn on the way to the top, as long as he's not too thick to realise that (which his dad seems to be) then he might make a decent career for himself.
-
Re: Tyson Fury, what's the rush?
He should ask the Klitschkos, and Lewis for advice on how best to use his size as an advantage. They are also good role models for him when it comes to conditioning.
