Why PACQUIAO is always criticized with his actions?
Before the Hoya fight, PAC was criticized for going after the Hoya fight where majority feel that he has no chance at all against the bigger Hoya... He was criticized of going only for the huge money the Hoya fight will generate for him... PAC was also criticized for demanding 40% of the purse split with Hoya saying PAC doesn't deserved that... Hoya was offering PAC only 30% of the purse split...
After PAC dealt Hoya the worst beating in Hoya's whole life, everything is silent... PAC becomes the current man of boxing... No. 1 P4P no doubt...
Now with the Hatton fight failed negotiation, PAC was again heavily criticized for demanding 55% of the purse split saying PAC is greedy and selfish... And many criticized PAC as an idiot for NOT going after the biggest payday out there, a $11 million guaranteed purse against Hatton... Many criticized PAC for considering those $2 million to $5 million fights which pales in comparison to the Hatton fight...
Why PAC is always criticized both ways?? Criticized for going after the money in the Hoya fight then and now criticized for backing out from another mega million dollars payday??

People will always find a reason to hate ANY fighter. Its ridiculous. If there isn't a valid reason hate somebody, people will create one.

Re: Why PACQUIAO is always criticized with his actions?
Manny doesnt deserve to be criticised much at all, and i think generally he is a respected fighter. You'll probably find the guys criticising him now are Hatton fans and PBF fans. Hatton fans cos it makes their man look better if they can convince ppl that Manny is scared of Ricky. PBF fans because there is a constant argument about who has the better resume between Pacman and Floyd, if Manny is made out to look scared to fight a guy PBF KO'd then it benefits Mayweather fans.
Another reason Pac gets criticism is due to his Rabid fans. Pacfans just go on and on about how Manny is the best, the most fearless, strongest most skilled, bla bla bla. They then attack in numbers anyone who dares to say anything negative about Manny. It turns ppl off him very quickly.
-
Re: Why PACQUIAO is always criticized with his actions?
People are now criticizing PAC because of the same reasons people criticized PBF at this point in his career.
PAC has some amazing names on his resume, he is always exciting, but now that his legacy is secured he (or perhaps it's his handlers)
are looking strictly to cash in now.

Re: Why PACQUIAO is always criticized with his actions?
People criticized De La Hoya for going after a payday with a much smaller fighter. I hang around boxing clubs everyday and watch many fights on TV and Pac was getting credit for taking on a bigger guy. And for this Hatton deal, well its hard to credit Pac when he was offered 52% from the champ at 140 and all Pac's people agreed but when the deadline hour came Pac was nowhere to be found and didn't even return calls. How do you justify that? It doesn't matter how great people think a fighter is no fighter is immuned to being criticized and this criticism is very much warranted. Remember, if Hatton would've said no to the 50/50 split and let the deadline hour pass and never return even his own people's phone calls then he would have been called everthing in the book. Pac is getting off lightly. People are even creating excuses like he is looking for PBF instead. Well, Freddie Roach hasn't even been informed on that one but I hope a PBF fight comes out of this. And if the excuse is Pac couldn't negotiate with Hatton he has no chance with PBF.

and why not? people would want to see this fight more than hatton-pac. and pac would settle 50-50 split on this one coz it will be more than he will get with 60-40 split against hatton. pac knows that the mayweather is the draw when that fight should happen. pac knows dela hoya was the draw when their fight happened. and pac knows he is the draw if he fights hatton. thats business. thats it. and pac is not getting off lightly. even here on this board he gets bashed how much more on other boards. and you said you hang around other boxing clubs. why dont you read the other threads on this board.

Re: Why PACQUIAO is always criticized with his actions?
If a poster ain't sucking Pac's dikk. Than his groupies say he's being criticized or bad mouthed. Hatton groupies are the same way.

I'm the bigget Floyd fan on here, and you won't find me comparing Floyd's resume to Pac's its not even in the same league, I think its a toss up fight, maybe slihgly favoring PBF, but I definitely think Pacman is a special fighter.

Re: Why PACQUIAO is always criticized with his actions?
I mean in just 2 months period, Pacquiao was first criticized for going after a huge money fight and then criticized again (in the opposite way) for backing out from a huge money fight... Pacquiao has nowhere to go...

Re: Why PACQUIAO is always criticized with his actions?
its apart of the sport.
Pac took on mab in his first fight at 126 for only $30,000.
and continued on to take on quality fighters one division above the next.
he took a 35% against a guy 4 division above him and now he wants a REAL Lion Share not a pussy 2% more against another bigger guy. he doesn't get it and he gets critized. Pac earns his paycheck, so anybody calling him scared and comparing what his doint to what floyd was doing is a straight hater or plain moronic. Floyd is a safe fighter and pac is a warrior, not comparison.
Pac wanted the fight in England and Bob denied him of that dream. So fuck Bob, he can't even give a simple demand in favor of pac. Now pac is no longer the yes men they adopted from a poverty infested country. Pac is the man now, his on top of the sport. his the most exciting fighter worldwide, he doesn't hit and hug like hatton or do rough tactic he straights fight you. Pac deserves what he wants, throghout his career he aint been listen to and he just continuously went out there and risk his life all the while having his country on his shoulders.
Hatton wont give in to what pac wants? then so be, theres no fight. AND NOBODY GETS PAID. think what you guys want and enjoy yourselves. Most of you can just speculate anyway but I know my boy. ;)

Re: Why PACQUIAO is always criticized with his actions?
Why is Pac criticised?
The real reason?
Well, its because he's fans are among the least popular groups in boxing.
Honestly, thats the reason.

It is the truth though.
OPacquiao would be far more popular with thegeneral boxing public if it weren't for the disdain the boxing public have for his fans.

Are you serious?? What does Pacquiao fans had particularly done to the boxing public to get that disdain??

Re: Why PACQUIAO is always criticized with his actions?
He deserves to be criticised here. All boxing fans were looking forward to a great match-up.
His GREED has stumped the fight.
His own promoter and trainer have criticised his "bizarre" actions and question whether he ever really wanted the fight. Pac clearly funked up, unless he didn't fancy facing Hatton of course ;)

Just like PBF biggest detractors were Hatton and Pac fans... Go figure, they harassed Floyd and his fans incessantly now they cant take hearing it back.. We'll turn abouts fair play people.. Now you deal with it
Karma sure is a bitch isin't she;)

I agree, which is why I don't completely understand why he didn't take the $12M and 52/48 split in a depressed economy. Who else can make him that kind of money?
I am critical of the decision to not fight Hatton, but I am not critical of Pac as a fighter.

Re: Why PACQUIAO is always criticized with his actions?
Im more of a Hatton fan then a Pac fan,but in the states Pac has all the heat marketing wise right now. United States=bigger market. Bigger market=bigger PPV buys
If theyre mainly buying to see Pac, he should get the bigger cut,and right now thats who would be really selling it.
-
Re: Why PACQUIAO is always criticized with his actions?
I criticize Pacquiao because he is being unreasonable and/or a giant pussy, and unilaterally stopping this fight from happening.

If that's the case - how come Pac's own promoter (Arum) and trainer (Roach) believe 50/50 is a great deal?
-
Re: Why PACQUIAO is always criticized with his actions?
Because they would make a shit ton of money out of it ;D
Hitman Donny is right for the most part. Not everybody is like that but a lot of people have turned against him because of his fans, which might seem illogical but gains more momentum after reading their posts.
He is making a mistake, even though I think he does have every right to get 60/40. Nevertheless, I think the idea that Manny Pacquaio is scared of Ricky Hatton is get the fuck out of here hilarious.

Re: Why PACQUIAO is always criticized with his actions?
BTW what was the split between Hatton and Mayweather?

Not sure, but I think when all was said and done total revenues equalled about 50/50.
-
Re: Why PACQUIAO is always criticized with his actions?
Hatton had ALL the UK PPV rights against Mayweather - it did about 1.3 million buys.
Lucky fat funker ended up with $35-40 million
-
Re: Why PACQUIAO is always criticized with his actions?
softens the blow a bit
Actually I wouldn't be shocked if this ended up getting made at some point. I haven't been following this as closely and maybe Hatton has totally moved on but Pacquaio thought he could strong arm the negotiations, at some point he's gonna realize his options are limited (or maybe there not, I guess it depends on Floyd) and swallow his pride and take the split. Or maybe he won't.
Irrational in some ways, business wise obviously, but I see his point, he's fought everybody, come up from 112 to 147, he is THE man, Hatton's simply not, he's borderline P4P top ten.

His greed? What about Hatton's greed? If Hatton is only in there for a payday IMO, or he would do anything to regain his legacy. Its not Pacquiao who's legacy is in question, It was like 10 years ago the last time Pacquiao was knocked out, Hatton just got knocked out at the end 2007 against Mayweather. Pacquiao has everything to lose, Hatton has absolutely nothing to lose. For once Pacman deserves the lions share, and you think its just him? You don't think Arum has anything to do with it? Or Roach?

For sure.. in an ideal world Hatton would say "fuck it, i'm a multi-gazillionaire, i don't mind giving him some extra dough" but it's the boxing business. Things don't work like that.
Pac is the betting favourite not Hatton. Pac is the greedy one because he refuses to fight for what they originally agreed.

Re: Why PACQUIAO is always criticized with his actions?
I wouldn't be shocked by that, or the Pac-Hatton fight going through. Either way I suspect everyone talking about Pacquaio having no balls, being scared, bottling it, are going to look fairly silly. A guy willing to fight anybody, Barrera at his peak in his first fight at 126, JMM right after that, a fight that most elite fighters would have never made, he didn't have to fight JMM, he could have just said "Who has JMM beat". All this time and suddenly he becomes a coward, LOL.
This whole thing is turning me into a Pac fan, I may start a thread on here about how great Pacquio is and ban everyone but me and Saddoboxer from it.

Re: Why PACQUIAO is always criticized with his actions?
Who is in Pacquiao's ear? Roach would be right there telling him, Pacquiao you need to think about your future, you need to make more money to look after yourself. Arum makes more money if Pacquiao makes more money. Guys like Pacquiao and Cotto aren't lawyers, they go along with what Arum wants as long as they like the sound of it. WHy would anyone in Pacquiao's camp want him to fight for less money than he could potentially make? They have strong arguements for why the fight should be 60/40 in his favor, and its hard to disagree with that when your putting your life on the line.
The fact that Hatton has recently been knocked out, the fact that he hasn't foughten the level of guys that warant him this type of fight, the fact that there are better fighers out htere with potentially the celebrity to make Pacquiao more money(like Mayweather, Margarito, Cotto), guys who are more deserving to fight him.
You guys should realize that Hatton is lucky his name is even considered as an opponent for Pacquiao. He is lucky that his fame outweighs his ability, as good as he is.

ANd Pacquiao doesn't come to fight? I'm just curious because Pacquiao is most exciting fighter in the sport, and puts it all on the line, and often has disregarded defense to land that hard punch.
