Tyson-Holyfield 3 In October! Please Let this Be Wrong!
According to this sorurce it looks like it may really happen. I was so hopeful with Mike weighing more now, he had moved on from boxing for good. Obviously its a payday for both. This is very bad news and I hope it turns out to be incorrect.

Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3! Please Let this Be Wrong!
I hate to say it but I would be excited to see this. I know both men are way way past their prime's. But if they are talking bigger than 34 million dollars. That would solve both of their money problems. I for one know I would buy this a PPV. Yes just for the names and who the hell cares. I would like to hear who wouldn't want to see this when it is sign and sealed for Oct.

I must admit I'd pay for this fight. But IMO there is no other way it will end other than Holyfield making it 3-0.

Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3! Please Let this Be Wrong!
Its just sad to me. I can understand Holyfield wanting the fight. Hes been active and it would be a decent payday and a very winnable fight for him. But, Tyson has said that he doesnt have the heart for it anymore. He is no longer a fighter, and doesnt want to be. Hes 20 years past his prime and as he said his career ended after he fought Douglas. Since then its been about the money and publicity. Obviously with the weight gain, he wasnt planning a return, but maybe he needs the money and this is the easiest way to get it. Just sad that it may have came to this.

Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3 In October! Please Let this Be Wrong!

Personally the dirtiest fighter I've ever seen was some guy who's name slips my mind. Anyway I have seen him do some vulgar things but one time he even went as far as to bite his opponents ear not once but twice in a fight!
Oh yes that's right his name is Mike Tyson.

Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3 In October! Please Let this Be Wrong!
I would pay $50 to see this, two of my alltime favorite fighters who have entertained me most of my life, and are in need of a donation for money problems.. sure I can do that

Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3 In October! Please Let this Be Wrong!
I saw a headline of this fight on a boxing website and just scrolled right past it. I know Sugar Ray Leonard and Thomas Hearns aren't so busy lately, maybe we could get them to fight again. While we're at it, Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier are still around, how about they lace 'em up and get it on one more time...
-
Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3 In October! Please Let this Be Wrong!
It'll take more then ArabianBusiness.com to get me to believe this. There are more Tyson-Holyfield 3 reports then there are Naz Is Returning reports.

Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3 In October! Please Let this Be Wrong!
As a fan of Mike Tyson, I dont really care if Mike loses this fight, hes a long way past being competetive, if it does happen, id be glad hes earning some cash, he doesnt need to train, he can turn up, sit down after the first round and walk away, earning the same amount, then everyone who predictably paid for it will bitch;D;D

Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3 In October! Please Let this Be Wrong!
Would be a good fight on the cards but in reality it would be a huge snooze fest. Neither men can 'pull the trigger' anymore and none of them are particularly agile either...
Judging by the recent size we saw Tyson in.. would it be physically possible to lose enough weight by oct? This would kind of make sense though.. tyson got engaged to a english girl this week, maybe he's looking for the funds to fund his wedding?
One more thing... if they were to make a fight between these two, why would it be in Abu Dhabi? Someone please explain this one to me.

hell might as well make it a 2 on 1 match , Ali and Frazier Vs. George Foreman ;D

Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3 In October! Please Let this Be Wrong!
Why don't these two just stand on the corner and beg for our money?
You know like other bums.
-
Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3 In October! Please Let this Be Wrong!
Tyson's hungry for another ear.

Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3 In October! Please Let this Be Wrong!
Im going to soubnd like the most cheesy predictable cliched Tyson fan but who wouldnt have a bit of morbid curiosity to see what Mike could do under Rooney for 6 months;D
If HBO were to get this and I cant see why not, it would sell, and do a 24/7 type programme following Mike and showing a reunion between him Kevin and Steve, then watching Mike gradually get back in shape and maybe even those exhibitions against the armed forces around the world that Steve mentioned.
Between now and October Mike could be boxings biggest star whithout even having a match.
Ive never understood why a tv company hasnt tried this idea already, proposing the reunion thing to Mike, its about all there is left for him to try.
Who wouldnt want to see just a few of those Damato combinations rattled off on Holyfield?
Hands up who would be interested to see Mike if Rooney was training him again?
Like I said, morbid curiosity;)

As part of the contract agreement Holyfield has requested that Mike's dentures be removed for the fight. And the winners next opponent is George Foreman.

It should be a 3 round fight anyway.:)

Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3 In October! Please Let this Be Wrong!
Holyfield ought to pursue a rematch with Valuev instead. If he can get that title then maybe a goodbye payday versus Tyson would be worth a nice payday for both. At this point I really don't worry about either fighter. They are in no condition any more to inflict serious harm on each other.
-
Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3 In October! Please Let this Be Wrong!
Tysons been doing his training at A Shoneys buffet as of late, just dont see this happening.Holyfield should retire knowing he was screwed vs.Valuev,As high a note that he can hope for right now sadly.
-
Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3 In October! Please Let this Be Wrong!
Holyfield would do it. He needs the money. The question is would Tyson's creditors let Mike keep enough of his earnings from the fight to persuade Tyson to fight again.
-
Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3 In October! Please Let this Be Wrong!
Tyson has made a statement that it is just a rumor, and so is the rumor about his getting engaged to a girl from England. Just read it on fightnews.com. Happy its untrue.
-
Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3 In October! Please Let this Be Wrong!
the reason this is happening in Abu Dhabi is because Mike Tyson has essentially been kicked from boxing in the United States. I'm pretty sure he is totally barred right now.

I agree Holyfield is pretty dirty. At least he somehow tries to get away with it (and does) as opposed to Tyson's way of doing it so everyone sees it. Then again that elbow that blew open the nose of Ruiz years ago was pretty blatant and for all to see.

Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3 In October! Please Let this Be Wrong!
This fight will never happen. I don't know what else to say. I would not buy it. I was just mulling over the fact that all of these great fighters today are impossible to identify with because they are on PPVs.
Why would you want to watch two "has beens" scuffle it out? You think you are going to get Rocky 8 or something? Granted they are almost better than the cheeze we have in their division today.

Just tape the fight and put it on fast foward. Might look like something other than a granny fight then.

Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3 In October! Please Let this Be Wrong!
Tyson doesn't want to be in the spotlight anymore, he has stated such numerous numerous times and is happy with how he is living his life right now. So I very seriously doubt he is going to ever fight again. Just let the man live in peace with his family, that's all he wants.
-
Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3 In October! Please Let this Be Wrong!
This is not happeneing...Tyson is trying to get as far away from boxing and the public eye he can....He has stated it publicly several times over the last few months.....

Re: Tyson-Holyfield 3 In October! Please Let this Be Wrong!
I started this thread in january, not sure why it was dug out of the archives, but its never gonna happy...as for Holy, anyone hear anything about his fight that was supposed to happen in Africa?
