Who cares about Margarito when ............
It's AUSTRALIA day!
:o:banana::clap::cowboy::crowd:
Really why bother rattling on about him when there is far greater news to be had! ;D
It is the day of beaches, BBQs and beer!
Happy Australia day to all my fellow Aussies and I encourage everyone who's not an Aussie to feel free to celebrate with us in the traditional manner - beer or a BBQed meat portion of some variety.

Thanks Mick,
Also since youngblood thought I was making up the whole Australia day thing to diffuse tension on the board (not that smart honestly) I have a link explaining part of what Australia day means to those who are not vegetarian.....

Don't you have a Canada day?
Why is it so hard to believe we'd have an Australia day?
-
Re: Who cares about Margarito when ............
No we don't have a Canada day. We wanted one but the queen said "No...bow to me!"
So now when the USA celebrates July 4th, we go to the river (we're a border city) with our picnic baskets and watch their fireworks and pretend it is ours.
It's really quite sad, actually. :-\

Re: Who cares about Margarito when ............
What is Australia day? When we first populated the spider and snake infested land and shark infested waters with crims or when you admitted the abbo's lived there first?
Only joking. I have no idea what it is.

Re: Who cares about Margarito when ............
Cheers for the heads up:cool:
I'm in Central London later so will be sure to swing by the Walkabout bar with me mates and rob the tits as they come out...
"Empty ya rucksack!!! - or i'll rape ya missus" usually does the trick;D

You are quite possibly the coolest person in your world.

Re: Who cares about Margarito when ............
Okay Sharla, I will admit I was just messing with you not believing the Aussie holiday thingy, and also that, yes, we do in fact have a national holiday.
It was probably wrong for me to assume you all eat the animal we (the rest of the world) equate with Australia (the kangaroo) on your holiday.
Just so you know, Canada's holiday is on July 1st. We call it Canada Day.
This year I plan to eat a beaver.

It's strange how that city is actually SOUTH of Detroit.

A chill just went through me. As cold as it is around here. You're way up there by the UP?

Re: Who cares about Margarito when ............

Ha ya...it's been nasty, huh. I was showing boozeboxer an article from mid MI where a town asked all their citizens to each keep a tap flowing in their houses because the towns water was frozen solid. They wanted every house to keep it running...until March. I see much flooding in their futures, and yes...it is much colder here.
So you are in Detroit area? We'll like be heading that way, well Grand Rapids and PBFs old gym for sure, for fights some time this year.

That's nuts!
Here thsi arvo many of the train lines were out of action because our current heat wave is so bad all the tracks were warped by the heat!
Don't know how long it'll take to repair but a lot of people are not happy because they're stranded in the city unable to get home and workers are having to hand out free cold water and break the news to people gently!
This heat wave is expected to last the whole week too! :-\

Oh, that's still 3-4 hours away. They have some good wineries on the West side, though. Not that you'll be imbibing.

So do you guys have a day off for the Queens birthday?
We do but we bludge for anything.
I dont think England has a day off for her birthday? which I think is even funnier.
Big let down here for Australia day is that the Aboriginals look at it as if we are celebrating the date of their rape and murder then their kids being stolen.
Another thing is happenig that you wot hear about and thats some groups of young fellas on the piss are going around beating up ethnics with Aussie flags drapped over their shoulders etc.

I am pretty sure we do celebrate the queens birthday. I don't know if it is a holiday or not or if we get a day off. Maybe CFH or Dean or CGM can answer that one...as I don't work and apparantly beggers are not privy to such things.
No worries on the aboriginal deal and the guilt associated with it and Canadians. We pretty much drove all of ours onto reserves to live in dire poverty, stealing their land and having our way with their wives and daughters, while calling them dirty savages...and still today hold them in disrespect/regard.

Re: Who cares about Margarito when ............
I hope Kel celebrated Australia Day, seeing as he's apparently an Aussie and all.
