Just seeing what kind of combinations some of you guys like to throw, might give me some new ideas. As for myself, my favorite combinations are very basic Outside Fighting:
Jab, Cross
Jab, Jab, Cross
Jab, Left Head Hook, Right Overhand
Jab, Cross, Left Head Hook, Cross
What are your favorite combos?
Well it depends for me cuz im small for my weight so if im sparring someone taller i normally use;
If im sparring someone the same height then i normally use;
- Fake jab, Jab, straight right, and then that sets me up for my best shot the left hook to the body and cuz im smaller i can get right into the lower ribs ;D
Them styles seem to suit me at the minute but im 16 and 110kg so it may not appeal to a lightweight or flyweight.;)
- Double jab, straight right, left hook to the head, then straight right near the middle of the chest (may wind your opponent if u catch em right)

I'm currently working on my infighting and trying to perfect my 5-3-2 and my 1 or 1-1-4-3 for working my way inside.
the 6-9 is pretty good in tight too. ah shit, wrong subject.
This may sound stupid. I guess I may need to look it up. I throw nearly every kind of punch there is. Work them all in combinations...even counted as high as a 12-13 punch combo in one recent fight.
But I have no idea what these numbers represent. Can anyone link me with a guide for them?

Some people made a couple of changes to delineate where a punch is thrown to, (e.g. 1b=jab to the body) and in Tyson's case he had some representing punches such as a left hook to the liver for instance.
The combinations with numbers idea never really interested me, I think it's shit unless you know how to land them.
Thanks Chris...yea I figured the 1-2 out, as seemed common sense.
Still I see 5 and so on. People use them a lot and I've never really responded because I felt sorta dumb. :p
Would like to have an official guide maybe too...does one exist? I can probably look this up myself and will but am multi tasking max. out atm with homework and things.
Here's what I use...and I blatantly steal from other fighters ;)
Jab, Jab (swat down guard), right cross.....from Wladimir Klitschko...works basically anywhere anytime
Left hook body, right hook body, left hook head (you can add a right uppercut in there if you like).....ala Mike Tyson, works best if your opponent is on the ropes and on the uppercut if you like to throw it, turn your body on the follow through of that last hook to give yourself a better angle.
Jab, Jab, left hook body, left hook head, right cross, left hook head
Left hook body, left hook body, left uppercut
5 is a left uppercut, 4 is a right uppercut. So a 5-3 is left-uppercut-left hook combo, like you see Hatton throw sometimes.Quote:

I like to trick my opponents by using a classic tactic. Basically I hit them with soft shots and let them get used to feeling that. Then I smash them with a hard blow that wakes them up.
To be specific, I'll try only throwing straight punches using only 40% of my power, letting them get used to that power and straight angle. Then my favorite is to watch their face when I hit them with a 100% power left hook. The straight punches get their guard in front of their face, which opens them up for a very powerful left hook. If I stun them I follow up with a 100% straight right.
Play the fool to catch a fool, make them think you're a one dimensional fighter, and then let it all hang when they least expect it!
i like ur philosophy. i have a similar one where i kind of fight lazy and take some shots and let my opponent in to a false sense of security,as in them thinkin im a walkover, then when i see them gettin cocky or sloppy with there gaurd ill rip the the combos to head and body. i cold work on my in fighting tho,it aint that stongQuote:
