If Hatton beats Pac:
1. JMM
2. Hatton
3. Calzaghe
IMO anyway. I ain't sure.
For me and I am a Hatton Fan it gets him in the top ten but that's it
No way would he be P4P number 1
P4P has to be earned over a number of fights to show its more than just a average boxer having a great night
Hatton's last fights have done nothing for his P4P status
Beating Pac doesn't mean Hatton is P4P better than him.
For starters - Hatton would NEVER beat Calzaghe if they fought 1000 times. Fact.

Nice point! I think He cracks top 10 but not top 3. Beating the P4P King doesn't automatically make you the best. You have to consistently win against tough competition. He'll be in around #4-#6 if he beats Pac making Juan Manuel Marquez #1 P4P!Quote:

Number of things must be taken into account, one such thing is dominance and how they would fair (predictively) against others, just beating a high ranked guy suited to your style AND naturally much smaller doesn't do it, after all would anyone seriously consider ODLH no .1 if he pulled off against Pac what he was expected to do.
If he beats Pac then he would comfortably be top 10, especially seeing as everyone seems to be beating everyone at the moment.
I think with what he has done recently across the weights, Pac could still be P4P number one even if he loses
If he takes Hatton to a split decision in a war, I wouldn't be knocking him off the top spot

I'd say 4, but he would get a chance at number 1 if he took on JMM immediately at the end of the year.
U dont deserve P4P #1 if u beat two fighters in a row that are naturally much smaller than u. Only way Hatton gets #1 is if he beats a top 4 Welter. Mosely, Cotto, Mayweather, Williams etc....Quote:

Definately top 5, that would be a huge win for Hatton.
Sneaks in to the top 5 for me but if he can follow it up with a win over JMM and then move up and fight Cotto and win you could argue the case. As a Ricky fan, it is a bit annoying when he comes out with I will pfp1 after beating Manny which in most fans eyes he won't be untill he takes on a couple more pfp fighters and wins.
Ill put him pound / pound number one if he beats pac then jmm then wins rematch with mayweather, although it could also depend on whats happend else where in that time.
