Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
RJJ is fuming about this fight with Tarver, RJJ has never been this angry and he has said the famous Ali quote "I have never wanted to whup somebody's a$$ so bad!" He is crazed with anger and I think it'll be a very very very short fight for Tarver.
Roy Jones Junior is the best fighter ever and ever AMEN!
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
i live in hope that one day i'll see jones jr get knocked out cold, flat on his pompous back with his little black booties twitching.
is tarver a big puncher? lol ... think i'll have to wait a bit longer for some humbled pussy pie.
along with hopkins, this guy's gotta go.
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
RRJ has taken steriods and god knows what else between fights which is what I heard. No wonder he keeps winning.
:jabbing:
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
Haters dont believe everything you read
Tarver can punch but hes not been in the same class as RJJ and has nowhere near his skills........Couple it to a serious dislike of each other Tarver is going down (for fight buffs check the RJJ v Griffin 2 KO...dirrty) Serves him right for calling himself Magic Man ;D
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
do any of you know how the amateur fight went down between him and mclellan? ... was jones beaten conclusively, or was it just one of those things, coulda gone either way?
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
Dude seriously BiggHog is right on you have to stop hating, Roy Jones Jr is a freak of nature, he doesn't need any steroids or anything....dude you can test positive for lots of things without ever doing them. Roy Jones is the best and he'll make Tarver look worse than Glen Kelly (the fighter Roy KO'd with his hands behind his back)
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
YES lyle!!!!!! big up yourself son....I genuinely believe RJJ never took those roids, he's just like you say a genetic freak and a hugely gifted athlete
Ive said it before and Im sure I'll have to say it again, RJ doesnt fight bad opponents he just makes them look ridiculous because hes so bloody good. Tarver wont last long hes nowhere near as good as he thinks he is and he got taken 12 rounds by Griffin who was humiliated in both fights with RJ (winning the title on a DQ is proper lame my friends)

Yeah I think I remember him being a bit "cross" with Montell Griffin. ;D
The good thing about this is if RJJR is mad, he will humiliate him, & that means some good ol' comical taunting.
I can't wait! :thumb:
Roy would probably test positive on is cracked corn, or whatever his "game birds" eat.
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
RJJ taunts are fantastic.....I love the little dances he does, it reminds me of brads lil banana friend (RIP)
but when hes just straight up arrogant like when he put his glove right down his boot and did a horsey giddy up and socked Clinton Woods in the mouth that was boxing genius!!!!!
Tarver will get dealt with, he should know people who bait and taunt RJJ always get hammered ;)
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
I liked Roy's double head feint which the other guy copied one too many times and got rocked and knocked the FUNK out
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
I tell you losing 45lbs, is not the smartest thing to do in a coupe of months, even for someone as talented as RJJ. And Tarver is as good as anyone RJJ has met at 175, so maybe, just maybe :o Tarver WS12
If this happens i will be able to live of this for the rest of my life ;)
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
Well since RJJ only weighed 197lb fully clothed for his fight with Ruiz I would doubt taking off 20 or so pounds which he will have been doing for a while anyway would be all that hard for him fella ;)
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
Thanks for the correction Bighogg, but I stand by my prediction. I have some inside info; my new mate on the ward 'Big Frank' told me ;)
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
Roy I think will win but hes getting older and I wasnt all that impressed with his win over ruiz, Whoever the idiot was who said roy would ko holyfiled when he was a cruzerweight or when he was fighting as a heavyweight at 205 pounds was a little crazy. Roy wasnt all that much faster than holyfield at those weights and holyfield used to have a great jab and theres no way roy could of hurt him, sorry dreamers evander would have destroyed him at either weight. People make a big deal of chris byrd beating evander but even chris byrd would have been outboxed by holy he was just as fast or faster than chris when he was young and he comiteed to his punches a million times moreWith the exception of Toney which is his biggest win I never remember getting excited about any of his opponents because honestly none of them were all that great. Mcallum was an old man and roy dint look to impressive in that fight, I dont belive the hype and that max kelerman is a little nuts

I loved it when Roy did the chicken move on Toney and when Toney copied him BOOM on his ass
You can test positive for steroids from using a nasal decongestant spray-they have it in them- but roy was using ripped fuel- iguess it has somthing in it you can't take- the two other tests the did on the same sample came back ok.

Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
Don't expect Tarver to just roll over and die just because RJJ is standing across the ring from him.
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
He might as well I mean it's just delaying the inevitable RJJ will pick him apart all night long and Mr. Tarver will be nothing more than a greasy spot on the canvas come the end of the night.
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
Tarver has a decent punch and he's not going to stand there and try to figure out Roy (I can't be done) but work the jab instead. I'm not looking for an easy Roy shutout.
Tarver isn't that spectacular but he may be the best fighter that Roy has taken on in years!
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
RJ won't give him enough time to set anything up, RJ ain't never skeered boy....Tarver will get KO'd very brutally and very fast...don't blink!!!!
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
I think early to mid. I'll say round 5,6,7. I'm kinda hoping roy'll give us a bit of a show.
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
They should lift doping restrictions...left Tarver have a toot on his glass pipe before the scrap...get himself charged up on crack....let RJJ pump himself full of gear and then there will be a great scrap!
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
He will, hes not making any predictions hes just said Tarver will be stopped
He also said hes scared about how "RJ" is bubbling really close to the surface.....Tarver is going to be in a world of hurt ;)
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
Roy wins in one, no joke.
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
I'm guessing that Tarver will get knocked down a couple times in the early to middle rounds, and then he will get KO'ed in the 8th
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
Jones will end this one quick a total mismatch but a typical Jones opponent
I hate to see the young Tarver go down like this but he is out of his league
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
I'd hardly say "young" Tarver (who is actually the same age as RJ) is a typical RJ opponent....youve been moaning about his opponents and Tarver is the only credible opponent at 175lb Olympic silver medallist only lost 1 fight 17 out of 21 stopped....what more do you need????
Oh I forgot, Hopkins
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
Well genius I was talking in relation to boxing experieince. Roy has a 48-1 record Tarver has a 21-1. So get out your calculator or ask your teacher if you can borrow one. There is a huge difference in ring experience
(Bernard Hopkins has a 41-2 record.)
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
ooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
Jerry! jerry! Jerry! jerry!
For once it ain't me in the middle of a feud.
Mannish i'll give you a little advice. Don't be antonio tarver. Your pickin a fight with someone with supirior skills. your outta your depth.
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
Well genius, if YOU knew your boxing then you would know that Tarver was an amateur champion for a long time in fact hes one of the best amateur fighter the US have produced and hes only been a pro for 6 years compared to RJs 15 or so.....so in 6 years getting to be the best 175lb fighter in the world aside for RJ is a bit of an achievement isnt it ???
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
Its not even a feud bro, a feud would entail similar skills or knowledge on both sides......I am clearly outmatched by Mannish's bizarre misunderstood genius on the topic of pugilism ;)
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
Whatever, I am not arrogant enough to think I know everything. I do not think this is a amateur fight. I think there is a difference between amateur and pro. I am not feuding with anyone. I got on here to talk about boxing not feud with anyone. I thought I could voice opinions but apparently only if they agree with Boss Hog
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
voice your oppinions for sure. but you gotta know when to stop diggin. fine disagree with someone. but when the majority of the forum (who believe it or not aren't RJ sycophants) come up with very good arguements , good enough to make your arguement leakier than a siv you gotta know when to give it up and move on. i'm all for extreme oppinions got a lot of em myself, but you gotta be big enough to listen and take on bored other peoples arguments and be prepared to have your mind changed. Heck the people on here have changed my thinking on alot of fighters i thought were good or shit.
the argument is Jones is that good, Tarvers pro years and fight numbers are alot lower but he probably IS the best light heavy out there at the moment.
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
Tarver may be the best out there at the moment but do you not agree he is no where close to being in Jones league. That was my point another useless Roy Jones fight to me. It beefs his record up and gives Tarver some spending money but I do not see it as a very competitive fight.
I am not knocking Roy Jones I am only telling how I see the fight, If you disagree and think Tarver has a good chance then fine. I think it's just another Roy Jones win.
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
Yeah tarvers the best out there but not in his league thats obvious. but hardly roy's fault. The question we're all asking you is, who's he meant to fight? Hopkins isn't an answer because of the weight divide.
Answer the question if jones is fighting bums who from 175 upwards should he be fighting?
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
Dude peep this.....I aint beefing with you (you should see the barneys me and HF had when he was a rookie) My point was that......you dont know as much about certain aspects of boxing as some others on the forum and as a result your arguments were pretty silly.....Im all about coolness baby ask anyone, I just get the hump with people who dont listen to reason (which you werent)
Theres no drama, everyones got an opinion and if you dont like RJ thats cool my point is you cant rightly critisise a fighter for not fighting the best when he IS fighting the best opposition available to him in many cases he is just head and shoulder above them in terms of ability....that isnt his fault surely ???
Can we kiss and make up now ;D

Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
As Ms. Garret would say "GIRLS, GIRLS, GIIIIIRLS"
Everyone just settle down, I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that mannish thinks RJJ's opponents are not the best ....well I should rephrase that, "not the best competition that Roy COULD face" and I think I can include all of the RJJ supporters when I say that OUR arguement is ...
"The opponents RJJ has faced have been considered the best in Roy's respective weight class at the time and it's only RJJ's superior boxing skill that makes them look like he's fighting amatures. RJJ could (have) fight a lot of guys that are considered to be the BEST in the world but he would more than likely make them look the same way. For example, Dariuz, he's always blabbed about fighting RJJ and much like Hopkins, Dariuz wants it on his terms (maybe because it'll take enough off of RJJ's game to let him upset the great Roy) and RJJ will not fight anywhere but the US on account of the 1988 Olympic disaster. Roy is by far the guy who makes the fights with Hopkins and Ruiz worth watching, who wants to watch Hopkins fight some little punk who isn't worth his time, if anyone needs to step up it's the guys who want to fight Roy like Toney, Byrd, Hopkins....Tarver stepped up and he got his fight why don't they do the same, RJJ is boxing royalty right now he doesn't need a belt to be consdered a champion. Roy is a very smart guy right now he's looking after his future and seeing how he probably won't want a job after he retires from boxing he wants more money and you know what he's earned it he's the best boxer of this era hands down and yes I believe everything should be handed to him the way it was handed to Tyson...that's the way boxing is, if you're THE DOMINANT Champ you're king of the hill til someone throws your @ss off!"
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
I like Roy Jones never said I didn't. I only said I wish he would fight Hopkins, now I'll change to say wish he COULD fight Hopkins.
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
OK understood, I just thought that you didn't think RJJ's competition was the best in the world and you wish he would have some "challenging" fights when to me "challenging" for RJJ is being able to go to the scorecards
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
Roy within 5.
He WILL do the chicken move shortly after knock down #1 luring a groggy Tarver into the kayo
:knock_out:
-
Re:Roy Jones - Antonio Tarver
If he is really mad, & is gonna release "RJ" his evil alter ego, it might even be funnier than the "chicken move."
We'll see tomorrow. ;D
