Anyone know of elite/former elite/future elite fighters getting KO'd in sparring? I heard something about Tyson once, but that may have just been a knock down.

Im pretty sure I heard Mcclellan had real rough sparring leading up to the Benn fight, not sure if he was KO'D though
I'm pretty sure Scrap said it was Montel Griffin that KO'd McClellan in sparring.
Oliver McCall floored Tyson.. so he says
Tyson got dropped by Greg Page prior to the Douglas fight. They even aired it during the fight.
I kinda remember that. They were talking about all of Tyson's recent woes. His break up with Robin Givens, the car crash and I specifically remember Tyson being loaded into the ambulance.Quote:

Not long ago people used to claim Jeremy Williams sparked Lennox Lewis in sparring until the video was posted on the net - It turned out to be a throw.
Danny Willaims, Michael Sprott and just about every heavyweight in Britain seems to have sparked Audley Harrison in sparring.
Chris Eubank sparked Herol Graham (after being stood on his head for a few days). Howard Eastman sparked Steve Collins.

I heard David Tua "beat up " Holyfield in sparring but never knocked him out .
Before the first Tyson fight Holyfield freely admitted his sparring partners were beating him up.
I got confirmation from Andre Dirrell's trainer/grandfather that he was handing Chad Dawson's hat to him, but Dirrell was a little more... diplomatic about it. I think we all remember what Floyd Mayweather Sr. had to say about that.
ODLH sparred with J.C. Chavez before and Oscar got floored. This footage was shown when all the hype was going on when they faced each other.
I saw the footage on youtube. A perfectly timed punch put Oscar on his ass. It was a good sparring session though. Oscar wasnt hurt bad or anything but he did go down.Quote:

Well to be fair to Larry Holmes he was pretty green when he was sparing with Ali not like he was prime or anything also i never heard the man brag about beating up on Ali i watch the fight he was taking it easy on the guy i dont get what people hate about Holmes so much many fighters that were less in the talent department have gave Ali problems but we while never know how the fight would of gone because they never fought when both were in prime so kinda up in the air.
