Margarito Controversy : With 2 days to go
Some of us truly have tried to keep our thoughts and suspicions on the subject to a minimum. Others have gone on about how we should not discuss it at all, but tend to be the ones who generally offer their opinion and simply not want to hear others. Others have likely said nothing. Everyone handles it differently.
Let`s face it, public opinion is that...opinion. We have it and we are entitled to it. We do not have concrete facts yet, but we do have many snippits of information in the form of various inputs from those close to, and in the know. From that we can atleast speculate..be it wrong, or right.
So I`m going to make a poll to see where the general consensus is as the count down to discloser begins. I`ll leave it anonymous to allow for those who wish to stay that way, but yet vote with what they believe will happen.

I voted for the most obvious one. :)

The man is innocent until he is proven guilty. :)

Re: Margarito Controversy : With 2 days to go
Margarito has many qualities and what impressed me the most is he shown a lot of heart in his career, so if he’ll be found not guilty I’ll take of the hat but IF he’s guilty … then he’s more than a bastard.
So I will vote in a couple of days.

I second this one... we should wait, then we would have afforded Tony the respect whatever he is.
Then after disclosure day, when can spill our guts whichever way we can, if we chose to.
However, I'm tempted to choose... the third option, cause its there.
Nah, I chose not to, cause it aint the truth either!

Ok, I voted you bastard.;D
Let me tell you why...Margarito is neither guilty or innocent until the facts are straightened out.
I have not seen the plaster yet I hear about it.
So my only choice left [X] Youngblood is a bastard.:D

Same here, it's just not good for boxing. I'd hate for this to be on the news.

Re: Margarito Controversy : With 2 days to go
Once again...you'll probably notice anyone who complains, is probably a person who spoke not only often regarding Margarito, but with a fairly strong opinion. SO basically...as someone who rarely spoke about it, I think I have made maybe 5 posts total regarding his guilt or innocence...plz suck my balls and quit being a hypocrite.
And I love the bastard vote. More plz. 8)

Yea I generally include it in my polls. It helps me guage how irritating either I or my poll are. lol
One thing I know for sure, and believe, is that we should all be hoping for the sake of boxing that it is a verdict of not guilty. I know I'd like to see this be a mistake, and then just quietly go away. I just don't think it will be that way though.
And if it was, then the governing body did a great disservice to both Antonio Margarito and boxing as whole.
And if he did cheat, then I want to see some heads roll. We'll need a strong example for anyone else who ever considers such a lowly act of disgrace on the sport.

Re: Margarito Controversy : With 2 days to go
Voted not guilty, after thinking about it and talking to an ex boxer mate, I just cant see the plaster setting in a sweaty glove and the plaster would break up any way being so thin, my mate reckons the only way you could load the gloves so to speak, is to take the padding out or hold something like a bolt thread in your hand and then put the glove on, lets hope it's just an issue with the wraps being used ones.

Yeah I agree heads should roll if it's true, cheating of THIS kind is just too severe and frankly, it makes me feel sick.
I hope he is not guilty but I doubt he isn't, it's not been dismissed, the investigation has taken too long.

Re: Margarito Controversy : With 2 days to go
NOT GUILTY!
I rewatch cotto margarito and mosley margarito.
It is obvious that tony was not the same fighter in the mosley fight, he IMO was weigh drain and then after hearing about issue with his gloves became totally out of focus. Tony is a tough warrior but with those two going against you right before the first bell, you can not come in any good shape. He did not take punches as well as before, he seem to fight brainless unlike the way he stalked and hunted down his oppenents in the past.
I honesly think, the glove issue was a strategy to make tony lose focus on the fight and worry about his reputation. Brilliant from Mosleys trainer but unfair to tony. I think tony would of lost anyways even without the distration of the glove issue because he was seriously weigh drain.

Re: Margarito Controversy : With 2 days to go
Well to tell you the trith i dont think any version of Margarito would have a chance vs Mosley he is to fast and can go to body well and has a chin just as good as Margrito it not better not mention he knows when to tie up to me Mosley is better in every department and Margarito a good fight but if he cant break you down and tie him up he seems to just not know what to do about tell you the truth and not so sure how well he while do if he choose to move up because he while lose alot by doing so but who knows i was happy that Mosley put the beat down on Margarito but i just kinda said that it was taken away by all this plaster stuff no one is sure of and it kinda just all we hear about instead of what a great fight it was.
-
Re: Margarito Controversy : With 2 days to go
I refuse to make up my mind until I hear something official & the Youngblood is a bastard option was just too good to ignore ;D
I would say my gut feeling is that Margarito certainly didn't know what was going on, especially as those present at the time suggested his reaction said he didn't

Re: Margarito Controversy : With 2 days to go
In my eyes the truth will come out in the rematch. In the first fight there was to much money involved, meaning the truth can be bought $$$$. If he comes clean I still won't be satisfied so I will wait for the re-match

Re: Margarito Controversy : With 2 days to go
So im guessing we will know in 2 days. I thought its gonna take a while.

Re: Margarito Controversy : With 2 days to go
IMO i want to say that the Commission will not going suspend you if you didn't make something out of Regulation , the action was done , what they founded wasn't nothing usual , this situation of Wrapping hands they usually made it , but they even thought that somebody would going to questioned his way of wrapping hands .............
This what i think would going happen , this rematch with Cotto will going bring a really lot of money , everybody know it , theres will be a big money under the table in which Margaro will be clean and his trainer could get the guilty , that is the direction that this issue been presenting , " Capetillo is the trainer that wrap Margaros hands , Capetillo , Capetillo , Capetillo ", "Margaro doesn't know what his trainer do on his hands " all that stuff , how damn the boxer with a lot of experience doesn't know what and how his hands would be wrapped , cmon......
I don't care which results would be , if the Commission would not founded nothing out of Regulations and this issue came out to publicity i would be the ones that not giving mind this situation , but now the Credibility is playing a roll and that is a worrisome .......................

Re: Margarito Controversy : With 2 days to go
...unless one of us here were in the room when his hands were wrapped then none of us know anything....he might be he might not be, till somethings confirmed it's all speculation.

Re: Margarito Controversy : With 2 days to go
I don't think it looks that great for him personally, or at least his trainer, but we'll see.
-
Re: Margarito Controversy : With 2 days to go
great poll.
My opinion is that Margarito tried to cheat in the Mosely fight but will come out not guilty.
I think his trainer tried to load his gloves, but Margarito never got a chance to use his plaster laced fists which leads me to believe nothing will come of this.
There's no way to prove he used loaded gloves in his pasts fights so i will continue to credit his past performances fully and am content knowing that his opposition will keep a watchful eye on his wraps in the future.
