Showtime "Announce" FROCH v TAYLOR in April
Looks like Taylor has discovered hills balls and Froch's slating of him seems to have worked;D
Fully expect the Cobra to blast him out.. let's hope he's not going into battle with a cracked rib and a f*cked eardrum this time;)
Froch stops him imo

Re: Showtime "Announce" FROCH v TAYLOR in April
Taylor by lopsided UD.
Froch may not go into this fight with a cracked rib and burst eardrum but will probably come out of it with those ailments...
-
Re: Showtime "Announce" FROCH v TAYLOR in April
Would have said Froch by KO, but to be honest the difference in ability & Froch being unable to KO Pascal means I think Taylor by UD, probably 116-112
-
Re: Showtime "Announce" FROCH v TAYLOR in April
Im not sold on Froch, and Taylor is a let down more often than not. They match up well, could be a very decent fight.

This is how I see it as well. Taylor ha s a confidence problem, and he's lazy enough for Froch to have some moments during the fight. IMO the question is how many of these moments will Froch get, and will Taylor get disheartened as the fight progresses. Ability wise Taylor is way ahead for me, but Froch is definitely hungrier.
-
Re: Showtime "Announce" FROCH v TAYLOR in April
Froch will stop him...gaurantee it;)
He wants it more and Taylor is blatantly scared of him already and wanted nothing to do with this fight and tried everything to not fight him.
Carls on a mission and will crush him inside the distance:cool:
-
Re: Showtime "Announce" FROCH v TAYLOR in April
Looking forward to this one, Taylor has more class but Froch will be on him all night, 50/50 fight for me with a slight leaning to Froch because of the hunger and will to walk through any thing that Taylor brings.
-
Re: Showtime "Announce" FROCH v TAYLOR in April
Taylor can't hurt Froch and he'll simply walk though JT's offerings and smash him to the floor:)
-
Re: Showtime "Announce" FROCH v TAYLOR in April
Taylor beats Froch, UD. Probably 116-112 or 115-113. Taylor's handspeed advantage will be the difference. Froch talks way too much trash. Someone needs to shut him up. ;D
-
Re: Showtime "Announce" FROCH v TAYLOR in April
unless taylor is able to engage froch in a complete war froch will take a comfortable decision and break america much earlier than calzaghe did.
As already said on here im not entirely sold on froch, but as always jermain taylor being american is rated to the hills when he really is no more than an ordinary fighter who struck it lucky against an old guy that was shot at that particular weight.
Froch to take a 117-111 decision
-
Re: Showtime "Announce" FROCH v TAYLOR in April
I like Froch. But he's getting took to school here. Unless he seriousley tightens up that defense.
-
Re: Showtime "Announce" FROCH v TAYLOR in April
Gotta go with Jermaine to rip Froch up on the outside. To much skill and class IMO.
I can see Froch getting a little to trigger happy and taking some big counters wich will wear him down for the later rounds. He's got a good chin so can't see a knockout but I see the fight starting off well for both boxers but Jermaine pulling away with his Boxing skills as it goes on.
-
Re: Showtime "Announce" FROCH v TAYLOR in April
froch just seems like the kind of guy that`ll always be able to raise his game the better the opponents get.
He isnt gonna blow taylor or any world class opponent out but what he does possess is the ability to tactically manoeveure an opponent and fight it at his own pace.
Remember most giving a certain joe calzaghe no chance of beating jeff lacy many years back and well all know what happened there!

Re: Showtime "Announce" FROCH v TAYLOR in April
Froch wont win if it goes to the judges.
Taylor has backyard home advantage plus is the "star" in the fight. Taylor's not a huge puncher but is far from a powderpuff. With Froch being so easy to hit, whether Taylor hurts him or not he will be landing plenty of eye catching bombs.
Froch best hope Taylor fades badly and swallows.

i dunno fenster..its been a good while since ive seen a dodgy decision stateside in a big fight.
Even if it isnt nevada led judging im still pretty confident with the attention the fight will draw whichever state its in will employ the very best people to score the fight fairly.
now had this of been kessler vs froch in germany......i would now be an extremely worried man for the "corba" as a WWF style screwjob would definitely be in the works ;D;D;D

It doesn't have to be dodgy/corrupt judging.
Taylor will have the crowd support. The crowd will be whooping/cheering/gasping everytime a bomb lands - hence influencing the judges.
Plus Froch is a nobody in America. Taylor got tight decision over Hopkins, Winky, Spinks.. no way Froch gets it on the cards.

I see what you mean. Frosh's defense is too awful for him to win the rounds clearly.

If he can't dominate Pascal or even Brian Magee he'll have to show huge improvement to totally outclass Taylor. The close rounds will go to Taylor.
Froch isn't even a one-punch KO guy.
I think he can win. But he's a BIG underdog in my book.
-
Re: Showtime "Announce" FROCH v TAYLOR in April
can see at least 1000 odd from nottingham traveling to the US for the fight, they`ll make a hell of a lot noise every time froch trades.
Froch is a hell of an awkward guy to score because he does fight in spurts and though in control for many of the rounds you can get the perception he isnt doing enough to actually win them!!

How do you know? Froch has never been in with anybody who can punch. I promise you that he won't take Taylor's shots like he took Pascal's.
Taylor is going to beat Froch silly. This is going to be Calzaghe/Lacy in reverse.
-
Re: Showtime "Announce" FROCH v TAYLOR in April
I like Froch and his fight with Pascal was a barn burner but he has 0 defence and I spend all my time watching his fights yelling at the screen to keep his front arm up. I think Taylor has too much speed for Froch and yes Froch has a punch but Taylors defence was so much better in his rematch with Pavlik so I cant see Froch landing too many clean shots.
Taylor by points win over 12 but will be cheering for The Cobra ;D
-
Re: Showtime "Announce" FROCH v TAYLOR in April
Hats off to Froch for making the fight, I didn't think he would. He's definitely the hungrier of the two fighters but I think Taylor will outbox him for a close decision.

Are you comparing Froch to Calzaghe? Froch is no Calzaghe and Taylor is no Lacy.
When has Froch shown he adjusts and outsmarts opponents? What are you going on here? It sounds like you see a lot of potential in Froch, what is it about him that he does on an elite level?
Kudos to Froch, however, for taking the fight and coming to the states to do it.

Good Post. I agree.
Pavlik has a chin and Taylor put him on the canvas and I would argue Froch is easier to hit than Pavlik because Froch lets his left hand hang low.
Taylor has a tendancy to fade down the stretch. To win, Froch has to steal a few of the opening rounds so as to not let Taylor build an insurmountable lead and then capitalize on Taylor tiring toward the end of the fight.
At a certain point earlier in his career, I feel Taylor lacked the desire and dedication to be a champ, but it appears the proverbial fire is lit once more.
-
Re: Showtime "Announce" FROCH v TAYLOR in April
Well Froch has still alot to do to prove he is anywhere near Taylors level, sneaking a decision against a fellow unproven prospect doesnt give me much confidence, but saying that Taylor hasnt been doing the business either in the last couple of years, hard one to call if im honest.
I'll go with Taylor by comfortable decison.

I've heard this before, but I've yet to hear a reasonable explanation why Taylor, who fought Hopkins x2; Wright; and Pavlik x2, would be scared of fighting a defensively deficient, mostly untested fighter who struggled against Pascal, the only semi-decent fighter he had been in the ring with.
Network interest/money is a legitimate excuse for not fighting a largely unheralded fighter like Froch. Taylor's at the stage in his career where he's trying to maximize his earnings and set himself up for big fights in the future. He's already got name recognition.
I would imagine a fight with someone like Allan Green would bring in a comprable amount of money, with a lower risk, and more American interest, so him persuing that fight is not indicitive of being afraid of Froch. Is Froch a better challenge? No doubt, but he's largely unknown in the States.

I think when people throw around he is scared etc etc its over rated in this case maybe Taylor is scared to what a defeat against a hungry bigger untested guy would do to his carreer, not for one moment a guy like Taylor who has entered the ring against guys like Hopkins Winky and Pavlik scared of facing Froch id say him and his team are aware that if they were to get beat his career would be damaged in a big way.

Duon't know Skel mate... Taylor found himself as mandatory and (i suspect) an awkward place for himself that he didn't want to be in.
I think he'd have jumped straight in if Pascal would have won and think he genuinely fears the Cobra.
Carls done a great job baiting him and doubting his manhood and i think JT just had enough.
Froch is on the Verge of being a Stadium filler if he beats Taylor in style (I think he has to go all out and win by KO to be honest) and the fact that Froch could well step into Pavliks shoes as "The Great White Hope" potentially earns him a fortune.
Froch is riding high and full of Confidence and i think he'll stun a lot of people.
Hate to bang on about it but he did fight Pascal with a cracked rib and a perforated ear drum and still went to war.
Really hope he does it and it's a brilliant matchup and fair play Cobra for going to the US no problem to fight:cool:
Really looking forward to this one and i think Froch could be in another FOTY again!!!!

Oh I have no doubts that once Fraud gets obliterated you will hear about a broken rib, busted ear drum, cracked nail or some other lame ass excuse.

Re: Showtime "Announce" FROCH v TAYLOR in April
I like Froch but I only see a UD for Taylor here unfortunately. Or maybe if he leaves himself as open as he did vs Pascal maybe a KO for Jermain. Hope I'm wrong though!
