I was just thinking about good ole Kermit, yesterday. I think he may rebound big time if he pulls this off. Now you got a shadow cast over the Margarito wins over him. If he wins he should be in great shape, what a turn around from people saying he's a quitter and all that about a year or so ago. I think it will be a good fight, Martinez may be riding a little hype from that Bunema fight. I still don't rate him too high, not yet.
He didnt do much to help himself that fight, needs to show more desire to win.
I was rooting for Cintron, but Martinez got robbed.
He's gone as far as he's going for sure. Its written all over his output and actions. physical attributes for sure, but like they say,Its 75% mental.
Cintron and his lack of heart are done
Cintron is a pussy!! :p
I"m so tired of his biatch'n and crying to the ref, and him constantly ducking down, causing his opponents to hit him in the back of the head, and they get penalized for it.
Fuk Cintron. :furious2:
Looked awful tonight. Guy can't box.
OMG Cintron actually thinks that he got robbed!!! :o
I was just floating around on boxing websites reading news, and there is already an interview with Cintron on BoxingTalk.com, but it's for members only, but they posted one question to read on the home page.
GL; Congrats on a solid fight, can you give us some thoughts on your performance?
"I think it was a great fight. It was a close fight, but I know I did enough to win the fight and I know it did enough for more than a draw. I came and showed that I belong with the big boys. I feel that I fought the best 154 pounder and I know that I beat him, they just called it a draw!"
WTF is that idiot Greg Leon congratulating him for? And how the hell could he call that a solid performance? :headscratch:
Cintron is done he wasnt even trying.
Sergio Martinez did a good job. He got robbed.
His best move would have been not boxing for a while. Obviously everyone has plaster in their gloves!
only fight i've seen where the guy gets counted out, the fight is waved off, and then cause the dude cries to the ref he get literally an immediate rematch, and still is given a gift draw, then has the nerve to bitch about it!!!!:o:rolleyes::o:rolleyes:, the fight wasn't even close i had it 11 to 1 for Martinez plus the knockdown which basically balanced the bullshit point deduction, and on that note, HBO needs to get rid of Lewis, he's utter crap as a commentator
Cintron is a guy with overrated power and no heart.....I cant stand him....As soon as he takes a hard shot he is looking for the referee to help him.....BE A MAN for God's sake.....
I think Sergio KO's Kermit by round 7 in a rematch.............
What is with the refs??? They need more training, they have been making some horrible mistakes lately......
Post Fight Quote: “Hell yeah I did enough to win. I clearly won it. I thought he hit me with a headbutt in round seven. Nobody hits that hard.”
HAHAHAHA is this guy f@ckin serious!? Nobody hits that hard so it must have been a headbutt?! There was no hedbut, and if he cant take Martinez punches, whos not a big puncher, hes got no place at light middleweight. What an @ss.
Kermit will end up as a stepping stone for the new up and comers, he lacks the guts to exert himself when things get tough in ring, I think the two defeats against Margarito took it out of him. There is no way the fight was a draw. I am a bit disapointed with Martinez as well, I though he should have gone after Cintron and knock him out, but no doubt he was robbed last night.
I've always given Kermit Cintron the benefit of the doubt but last night he showed his true colors....he's a whiney little cry baby and I can't wait to see him KO'd again.
Martinez whipped his ass, there is NO WAY that was a draw
I would like to see John Duddy whip him but then again Duddy likes to take too many shots so it would be a dangerous fight.
Maybe Kirkland or Angulo would fancy ending Cintron's career ;D
I'm kinda glad he got the draw even though he didn't deserve it coz Martinez is an arrogant dick.
Cintron lost that fight. I was kind of pissed because I felt he did not try enough to get control of the fight. I would like to see a rematch and see Kermit adjusting his strategy. I believe he was not prepared for the speed.
PRP, I lost a lot of respect for Kermit in that fight last night. He whined like a baby about a "head butt" that was actually a punch, and he didn't seem like he wanted it enough. And... he had the nerve to argue he had won the fight. He better get his act together, or his days as a top fighter are numbered.
Even though he comes off as cocky and arrogant in the ring, I kinda like watching the guy and he seems like a nice enough guy outside the ring. Hes definately a interesting fighter which is always good for boxing. Hes good an akward style and goos skills too. Too bad he just making a name at 34 years old though.
I agree, Cintron kind of disappointed me last night. He could be KO at the seventh when the referee count 10. It was amazing how protected he was, and still complaint. His eye cut was considered a headbutt when it was a punch, a point was deducted to Martinez in the 12. I am hoping our boxing is better represented in the near future.
Sorry folks. I just dislike arrogant people,...
...and cry babies like Cintron. That's why I have no problem with the draw.
That's my personal perspective.
I get the feeling that Martinez really could have repeated the KO/KD.He sort of settles on cruise control, hate the hands down at knees lol.Did you see Cintron even lobbying Martinez while both were standing between the 7th and 8th....Martinez touches his head and smiles ear to ear, waving his hand "Noo,No" at Cintron.
Cintron is a head case. He cries; he complains; he rolls on the floor; he goes bazooka after the fight! WTF!
Cintron is the biggest baby I have ever seen in the boxing ring....As soon as things get rough he looks to the ref for ways to help him out.... The reason he threw the fit after the fight is I think he realized the wheels just came off his boxing career...
The funniest thing I saw was before Tony/Kermit 2 when Kermit did a neck slash at Tony and Tony pretended to cry like a baby (mocking kermit after the first fight)....HAHAHA
I never saw Cintron as a good boxer. I was never saw his talent and ranking even close to equal. He looks like a guy who doesn't have a thorough boxing foundation. Very flawed and somewhat sloppy. He is a confident guy but he is only banking on his power against the top guys. I'm surprised he made it this far without being used as a journeyman for better upcoming fighters. I like the guy but he is not much more than a puncher's chance threat against good fighters. How he got a draw against Martinez is atrocious. Even worse, he says he really won. Thats either denial or overconfidence which will get him in against someone who will expose and end his name in the talk with the big boys.
