Michael Jennings thread!

Ok they folks!With the Jenning vs Cotto fight coming up soon i thought id make a thread based on Jennings chances of causing a upset on the awesome Miguel Cotto.Its obviously Jennings will be the clear underdog in this fight but i think he'll fair as much as people are giving him.Apprently he is having loads more fan rooting for him as the fight draws near.Could he cause a BIG upset?Im looking forward to this fight and YES i have a feeling that Cotto will be too hard for Jennings,but Jennings has nothing to loose and everything to gain.For me this fight could well be a great slug fest as the fight draws on.Jennings can take a decent hard shot and does'nt mind going toe to toe.Im having a little bet on Jennings,just a little one!

Has anyone else noticed Setanta are not advertising this fight? They keep showing Pavlik-Rubio but not Cotto-Jennings :-\

Thought it was meant to be a double header? :-\

its like you said yvonne, jennings has nothing to lose and everything to gain and that can make any fighter a threat.

I think this thing with Margarito's handwraps may have killed any doubt Cotto had inside at his own abilities. IMO he destroys Jennings. I dunno why Setanta are hyping the Pavlik fight more, maybe because he's the more marketable name?

I don't think it's because Pavlik is bigger. Surely MORE Brits will be interested in Jennings-Cotto than Pavlik? It must have something to do with the spat Frank Warren has had (is having?) with Setanta :rolleyes:

A few weeks back, on Buncey's show, they were saying the fight will be shown but now nothing.

What makes it worse is the undercard is miles better than the Pavlik-Rubio bill.

Well on Bunce's boxing hour the other day, they were talkin to jennings & talkin about the fight bein live on setanta so I'm pretty confident its on, & they said it would be on actually at the start. Check it out on the Setanta webpage

Cotto is just somethin else...I hope that Jennings has that 1hit KO power or else he is gonig down like the rest of them.

I didn't think they said it would be shown even with/after Jennings appearance? They are only advertising Pavlik-Rubio.

Someone sent in a question asking Bunce if the Jennings fight was on Setanta & he said yes, I remember because it was the only question sent in that he could give a yes or no to. Unless I'm high on this flu medicine I'm takin & dreamt it all ;)

Is anyone having a bet on Jennings causing a upset at the Bookmakers?I seen at one bookmakers that Jennings is something like 8-1 to win.Worth a fiver for me!!And before you all start thinking i've lost me mind,i do know Cotto is surely in a different level of pedigree than Jennings,but Jennings is really humble and will fight with his heart on his sleave.Im really looking forward to see both of them fight it out!

Jennings has a lot of respect for Cotto which is noble to hear,i just hope he does'nt respect him too much and go into this own shell.Im sure he want though.Im looking forward to this whatever the out come may be.

I hope Jennings wins but even the 8/1 doesn't look tempting to me. I make Jennings about a 20/1 shot.

I'm afraid all this talk about "he's only human" means he really believes he's facing the hulk.

Cotto's chin isn't great though. Be good if Jennings Jimmy Vincents him (100/1) :cool:

I was just watching Setanta and it was showing all the stuff that was going to be on this weekend. Pavlik, Man U, some golf. It didn't mention Cotto Jennings, but it did a few weeks ago.
I've looked on sky and ITV but it's not there either.
You can't trust the Setanta web site, last year it said it was showing Dela Hoya Paciquio.
I was really looking ford to this fight as well.

It is on Setanta its just on Sunday night for some reason. Maybe it clashes with the Pavlik fight, who knows, but it is on albeit a delayed broadcast. Just have to avoid seeing the outcome and watch it like its live Sunday night. They did it before with another fight, think it was Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, it was just on the next day not live.

When Williams fought Tyson I won good money on that and I could see the outcome coming.

Cotto had been beaten by a monster, Margaritto. Apart from that he is world class. If you want to win money on this fight bet on Cotto to win within rds 1-4, any other outcome is money down the drain, Jennings will get destroyed.

Ok boys, I phoned up Setanta today to check about the fight & they told me that BOTH the Pavlik & Cotto-Jennings fight will DEFINITELY be shown on the night. We should also get John Duddy vs Matt Vanda, although they weren't a 100% on this one, & they had no idea about the Anthony Peterson fight.

Good work Jaz I guess they just havent listed it yet then. Bit sloppy that. It actually says nothing at all about the Jennings fight on the skyplanner either night now, weird.

The Pavlik fight programme is on 3AM-6.30AM Sunday morning (UK time), maybe theyll just stick it in with that? Hopefully Bunceys show can clarify for us tomorrow when its on, youd expect them too.

So pissed off dunno what's changed in a couple of days, but the rumour mill seems to be that its a money issue with Warren or something.

It hasn't been cancelled but it also now hasn't been confirmed. I think mass emails to Bunce's Boxing Hour might be in order to ask WTF is goin on, because this is unbelievably shoddy just a few days before a world title fight with a British boxer
