Who do you think the fans will support?
The people on this board seem pretty evenly split on who they like in the Hitman/Pac-man battle.
Who do you think the crowd in Las Vegas will support?
Hatton? Pacquiao? or evenly split?
I think the crowd will back Hatton (slightly). I think he has gotten a little more fanfare in his US fights than Pacquiao has, although many of Pac-man's opponents had long become household names making them appeal more to the casual fans.
Thoughts?

Re: Who do you think the fans will support?
About 60-40 in Pacs favour at the actual venue and probably about the same on these boards.
-
Re: Who do you think the fans will support?
can't see that many Hatton fans going over for this... could be wrong but with the ramped up ticket prices and the pound to dollar rate... its an expensive event for even the hard core hatton fans.
-
Re: Who do you think the fans will support?
Pac fans will be 80 % louder.
Hatton fans 82.4% drunker.
-
Re: Who do you think the fans will support?
I think Hatton will have the edge although probably only about 60-40. However, I think the sheer noise & hostility of the Hatton fans will make it seem like more. I am curious how many from this board are going to support Pac, I know that there are a few guys goin over to support Hatton, but wondering what kind of response Pacquiao is getting in ticket sales

That about says it all.
-
Re: Who do you think the fans will support?
Hatton will have the band there and enough singing fans that it'll seem like it's in Manchester. Even if the venue is majority Manny fans they'll be a lot quieter.
-
Re: Who do you think the fans will support?
I expect the Fillipino fans will support Manny. ;D

Good point. Any Pac fans going from here or are you all armchair supporters/glory supporters?

What are they all gonna chip in and buy a ferry? I doubt it would be affordable to most in his homeland.
-
Re: Who do you think the fans will support?
I will be there pulling for Hatton, but it is a short trip for me...I am already in the US.
A good point was made about the ticket prices. As recent as Wednesday ticketmaster still hadn't sold out.

Many Mexican fans supported Manny in the Hoya fight... Many Americans I think will support Manny against Hatton... Remember Sugar Ray Leonard, Winky Wright, Lennox Lewis said Manny is their favorite boxer...
So I think in the venue, (Filipinos + Mexicans + Americans) > British Hatton fans ...
.

Yeah but Ricky has a decent amount of American fans too. I do think Manny will have a lot of fans but I wont be surprised if its split down the middle.

Probably... maybe 52/48 in favor of PAC (is this the purse split or crowd split?? ;D )

It'll be interesting to see how Pac is welcomed or played up off of drubbing he put on fan friendly DelaHoya.Anyone think he'll have a 'villian' factor??

Nope... Hoya gay fans will always remember what PAC said to Hoya right after the fight...
"Whatever happened... You are still my IDOL..." LOL ;D PAC is becoming a good politician... ;D

Re: Who do you think the fans will support?
A good 7,500 flights out to vegas from the UK for that particular weekend already booked and i suspect it`ll be more like 13-15 thousand come the actual fight.
Brits will take over the MGM though i suspect it wont make a blind bit of difference as to who actually wins the fight!!
-
Re: Who do you think the fans will support?
I also think that it is more likely that the remaining tickets will be bought up by Hatton fans coming from the UK than Pac fans.
-
Re: Who do you think the fans will support?
It's not really advisable to have that many Hatton fans (80%) in the MGM arena... or else it will come out a very quite night... ;) Hatton fans will muted by the sight of PAC giving a bad beating on Hatton...
.

No problem mate... ;)
If you can't swallow a possible quite MGM arena full of Hatton fans then by all means neg rep me (you already did it ;) )...
.

Re: Who do you think the fans will support?
I'm not sure either what your goal is Saddoboxer. To antagonize I guess anyone who isn't a pacfan?
i'm going to be honest with you. I am fairly unbiased when it comes to fighters, and I root for pac. But if your goal is to turn fans to root against pac, it may be helping. I'm starting to hope Hatton beats his face in, if just to see you maybe stop.

I just told you I negged you;)
There is no such thing as a quiet Hatton fan, even after Hatton lost to Floyd they all cheered and the band played. It's called support. You off to see Manny? your obviously his biggest fan.....?

Naahhh, I'll settle for a PPV...
Yep, you're right Hatton fans are always noisy win or loss and I might be wrong in saying Hatton fans might be muted by the sight of PAC giving Hatton his worst beating... Hatton fans will still be shouting "ohhhhh", "ahhhhhh", and "ohh my goddddd" in that scenario... ;)

Re: Who do you think the fans will support?
Pac will have the mayority of the support. I don't think Hatton's fans want to spend their hard earned money watching their fighter get destroyed again only this time by a real pound for pound champion like the human buzz saw is.
;D

;D
Even in the midst of a recession and the fact it was only malignaggi a good 6000 turned out to see him fight.
35 thousand fans flocked from the UK to vegas for the mayweather fight something manny pacquiao could only dream about. If you seriously believe pacquiaos couple of hundred die hards are gonna out number the potential 10s of thousands who like myself will be over from the UK your mad.

Mate YB... this is just part of pre-fight hype and fun...
All these forum talks are nothing... what matters is the actual fight...

Forums like these are designed for fans to have opinions arent they???

Re: Who do you think the fans will support?
It's never ending and always the same.
And yea, he can do what he likes. I don't mind most of it, but it gets tiresome. Just saying my thoughts.
And trying to give a perspective from someone who actually roots for Pac on the subject, likes pac and isn't philipino, but not so much the ceaseless antagonism.

They`ll chew you up and spit you out before the 1st undercard fight is done ;D;D;D

The worse scenario would be a DRAW....No one coalition less ;D.
Think Hatton takes it

Theres 3months to go and already it seems like us brits and fillipinos are driving you yanks mad with endless predictions. If it were to end a draw after all this i think id have to give up coming on here for a while just for parity;D
Remember the mexicans and puerto ricans driving me mad last summer over cotto/margarito to the point of utter annoyance. I can now share their pain and apologise to all who we are driving mad
-
Re: Who do you think the fans will support?
I will support Hatton on this but i still think Pac will win. But i just want Hatton to win so Pac fans can STFU.
-
Re: Who do you think the fans will support?
I just wanna see a great fight. The anticipation is killing me. I like Ricky Hatton as I'm a big fan of body shots but I think Pac would win and he has my bet. Like the Filipino fans I would be yelling "money! money! money!" ;D
-
Re: Who do you think the fans will support?
I guess the Pacquiao fans are gonna ignore my question on how many of them are actually going to the fight??
Its not got some sinister undertone where I will hunt you down & kill you pre-fight, it might just gave a basic indication of the support that will be going ;D
Also Thomson Local announced that they have had nearly 10,000 bookings going out to Las Vegas from the UK during the week preceding the fight. They stated their average per week was usually at a top level of about 800, so that might give the indication that a lot of Hatton fans will be there. That's just one holiday provider & not who I booked mine through
I will be interested to see how Manny copes at the weigh-in against the hostility he will no doubt get (not from me because I ain't getting into all that booing him shit), Mayweather was able to feed of it because that's what he does, but Pacquiao is not used to not being the popular fighter (even against ODLH whose fans aren't anywhere near as agressive as Hatton's).

I don't think there are many Pac fans in this forum that will support him by going to Vegas but tell you what I am shocked by the population of Filipinos here in San Jose. There were a lot of them back in Hawaii but damn they are just everywhere. I heard there is a million of them in Califronia alone. So regarding the local support, I think Pac has a solid one.
