Sylvia is 6'8 and has a good straight right, kind of lazy jab. He can punch, but not box. Who knows. Mercer is so old though, it's sad.
Mercer must need money and doesn't mind embarassing himself and being the fall guy for MMA fighters.

Well Mercer is coming off a win over some unknown 30-3 Swedish fighter, so his confidence is probably boosted. Sylvia has never fought in a boxing ring before to my knowledge so hes going to be fighting in Mercers house. I hope Mercer can pull it off cause I know how much everybody wants to see Holyfield-Mercer II :-X

This is the freak show dimension of boxing--right up there with Morrison vs. Williams. Disgraceful stuff.
Meh - hate to see Ray stoop to this. Nevertheless, the crafty old man should handle Silva quite easily, as Silva is a rather slow, plodding fighter - doubt he'll land much more than the jab and it won't be enough to keep Ray from getting inside and roughing him up.
I'll be most interested in seeing if Silva can keep his feet on the ground and resist the urge to clinch and knee Ray in the heat of battle, lol.

Of all the MMA fighters Tim Sylvia is one of the guys I hate the most.....goofy ass mother fucker. I hope Ray Mercer sparks him out although I figure Sylvia should win.

Although MMA just loks like pub car park stuff to me there's obviously a degree of skill involved in the rolling around on the ground bit. So it doesn't matter how good you are at boxing, if you put somebody like Manny for instance in with MMA fighters at some point it's going to come down to how good manny is on the ground, and although he may be the world's second best boxer he may be rubbish at the ground bit. And you may have a guy like say Rocky Juarez who is not the greatest boxer but may be able to do the ground bit more effectively. Basically I wish MMA would just fuck off and die.
When Kirkland and I agree on something it's scary but it also means MMA really sucks.

Me too I think most TOP boxers could adapt to MMA but I'm not sure the other way around! I mean could you imagine if it was someone like Brock Lesnar vs Vitali in a boxing ring? 2 minute fight. Whereas the other way around I think Vitali's striking (as he is also a great kickboxer) would cause Lesnar hell in a cage too!Quote:

GBP responded and said there was no fee for the appearance. Why would you pay 5Mil for someone to sit at a show? Seriously ODH makes bank but why fight, he gets 10-20 for fighting and 5 for showing up to a fight. Sign me up. That's a ton of money for an appearance. Affliction don't make that kind of money to be throwing away.
