Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
Just seen this on fightnews.
Arreloa to face McCline! | Fightnews - Boxing News Updated 24/7
Do you think that Wlad and Haye may be close? Wlad seemed certain it would be one or the other!
-
Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
According to this...from 2 days ago mind, Haye has agreed to fight in Germany rather than pushing for the US which was apparently the main stumbling block in the negotiations....
Klitschko vs. Haye To Take Place In Berlin

Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
So it seems Wlad's reign is soon at an end.
-
Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
Ah this is where the debate starts!
I was of the utmost confidence that Haye would demolish the Klitschos when I heard he was goin to heavyweight, hes a huge puncher and has a great record, and then on his debut demolished Monte Barret, although, lets face it, he was less than good.
But as it gets closer I dunno, Klitscho is far more technical than Haye, but I dont think Wlad has had someone like Haye who's prepared to go at him viciously and throw big, mostly accurate bombs. If Haye catches him with one, could be lights out or he could be walking into a big Wlad jab plus straight right everytime he tries.

Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
Wlad was in more danger when he fought Sam Peter
#1 Wlad was in a poor mental/psychological state after 2 KO losses
#2 Sam Peter was undefeated and seemingly unbeatable (yeah people thought that way)
#3 Wlad had shown very little improvement with new trainer Manny Steward in the fights that followed the Sanders loss.
#4 Haye has been KO'd by a cruiserweight an old one at that and he's been hurt by many fighters
#5 David Haye is usually wild and throwing bombs when the other fighters have very little chance of hurting him back.
#6 David Haye has very little experience as a heavyweight and he has never been hit by a guy like Wladimir.
My view of the fight is as follows....Haye starts out moving in to land shots, never gets his punches off, eats the jab, starts throwing one punch at a time, Haye clams up as the 1-2 starts landing frequently, and then Haye gets flattened
-
Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
My understanding was contracts had been exchanged so looks like its pretty close to there. You can always rely on GBP to sort it out once they sniff some lovely currency for old Oscar ;)

Ah well good on him, very likeable guy that De La Hoya chap, I'd certainly invite him into my house for a cup of tea n a couple of French Fancies

Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
I am very interested in this fight. This will be an exciting fight for as long as it lasts. McCline should lose this fight.

I still think Wlad is a vulnerable champ - if he gets caught with a bomb, it could really rattle him. But then again, Manny seems to have done an excellent job of repairing the psychological damage, and putting the brakes on Wlad has honestly made him a more dangerous fighter. Now he watches his defense and works his jab - patiently - before unloading the big gun. Haye might have a shot at it, but I see it happening the same way you do. Haye eats a few of those jabs, slows his own output, then eats a huge right or left hook to call it a night. That sounds about right.

Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
back on over to Arreola, he better not get over confident goin in against McCline cause he can actually stop him, and if that happens it's pretty much a career ender at this point
-
Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
McCline is definitely not a fighter to be taken lightly.

but honestly i don't think that McCline will ever get out of the journeyman status again, he's basically become the gatekeeper for the division

Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
Yeah - I would be really surprised at this point if Haye/Wlad didnt happen.....Rich Schaeffer is going to work his magic.......
As far as Arreola, I agree he better not take Mccline lightly......Mccline is a serious step up for Chris...he better come in in shape...If Travis had slightly better technique/experience and better stamina we would not be talking about Chrissy anymore...;);)
I think it is a matter of time before Chris is stopped and falls off the face of the earth.....The guy has no discipline and is overhyped/overrated.....The fact that he is being embraced in the US shows how bad the US HW prospects are...;..

Yeah they are real bad at the moment. I see Arreola coming through this but I think he gets hurt if he steps it up any more than a McCline type fighter.
As for Haye - Wlad I can't wait because I get all Lyle's punch power points ha ha ha!

LOl I was on the Haye banwagon for while, But although I still like Haye, his performance against a Wladimir victim (Barrett) was nbothing more then mediocre, I just see it exactly as Lyle said.

He did it quicker than Wlad and floored him as many times. I think Haye should go for Ross Purrity next. He would do better than Wlad against him too!

Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
This is a great fight to get Cris prepared for the big time and it's a good style match up for McCline as well!
I see 3 logical possibilities on the outcome of the fight:
#1: McCline opens up on Arreola right from the get go and Arreola fires back and they set a good pace but McCline starts to tire and Cris pours on the pressure winning round after round and then winning by UD.
#2 McCline opens up early on Arreola and sets too tough of a pace for himself tires out and Cris stops him in the mid to late rounds.
#3 McCline uses his height, size, and defense to his advantage and frustrates Cris throughout the fight and Arreola not being in the best of shape tires out and loses a UD.
The odds on favorite has to be Arreola late stoppage/UD but I am leaning more towards McCline by UD....he looked very good vs Sam Peter and I think he's going to come out looking for a W and not just a pay check.

And so did Sanders and Brewster.

Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
Did you not see the beating Wlad put on Brewster before gassing out.....no way does David Haye do more damage than Wladimir!!!
Corrie Sanders is dangerous to ANYONE...sure he's a fat bastard who doesn't train but he's got a very fast and very accurate left cross and Haye wouldn't have lasted with him.
Haye couldn't hang with Carl Thompson and he has only had 2 heavyweight fights so if anyone is in danger of looking daft it's you "mate"
-
Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
Good fight for Arreola, he should pull through.

You've always ducked the question like a little biitch evertime I ask you this.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF DAVID HAYE LANDS THE HAYEMAKER ON WLAD'S CHIN ?
The answer is the sole reason why Wlad is ducking Haye. If Haye lands, Wlad goes down. Easy as pie.

Stop bringing that shiit up. If your going on that then you're even more deluded than I thought. Haye was young, inexperienced, had 11 fights and was beating Thompson (Former world champion) before he gassed out, simple as. He hasn't had his ass kicked 3 times like Wlad.

Haye would still have to follow up on Wladimir and as Sam Peter found out even with illegal punches it's difficult to do. And Haye is going to have to get past Wladimir's reach and improved defense.
What's going to happen when David gets hit with a right cross??? I can bet it isn't going to tickle

thing is buddy, Haye would have to land first :-\ and with Wlad's jab in his face half the time i doubt he'll be able to get a very clean bomb in there, much less one of those wide open hayemaker's he throws,
the whole what will happen if theory could have anyone win, and is pretty gay dude :-X

Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
And to add to that it is absolutely ridiculous to think that Wladimir would be accused of ducking a guy with 2 heavyweight fights.....2!!!!

I wish people would stop saying Wlad is ducking Haye, if Wlad didnt want to fight Haye all he has to do is say he only wants to fight his mandatories....Wlad is going out of his way to make the fight.......
The question is now that the fight is on the horizon, will Haye have second thoughts???
WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF DAVID HAYE LANDS THE HAYEMAKER ON WLAD'S CHIN ?
This isnt the Wlad that fought Sanders mentally.....Wlad has fought much harder punchers than Haye since the Sanders fight and hasnt lost....(I dont count the Brewster fight because Wlad was laying a woodshed beating on him and gassed out, I dont even think Brewster landed a clean punch....
The BIG question is will Haye be able to walk through left hooks and strght rights from Wlad???
-
Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
Fact is to the few Klitchsko groupies is Wladimir has to actually land on Haye for him to go down. How will he do that ? Haye will be the quickest guy Wlad will face. I barely see Wladimir landing. Haye's chin isn't even that bad. Sure if a lot of bomb's lands on Haye he'll go down but he won't go down off 1 or 2. Yet on the other hand if Haye lands JUST ONE right Hayemaker on Wlad's chin. Wlad goes down. Wlad has a worse chin than Haye, easily. He's been knocked out 3 times. He's in double figures for getting knocked down. A slow ass in Sam Peters knocked him down 3 times. DaVaryll Williamson knocked Wlad down with a right hand. And he's a bum. Imagine what happens when Haye lands his right hand on Wlad ? It's gonna be brutal.

If the fraud that is DaVarryl Williamson can land and knock him down, David Haye will land at will and knock him out.

you mean this same Haye?
YouTube - David Haye v Carl Thompson
hell Carl Thompson was old and shot when he beat Haye, hell Thompson's biggest win aside from the fight with Haye were his wins over an old Eubank, 5 out his 6 losses have been KO's so if Haye couldn't hurt a chinny Cruiserweight, you think he's gonna hurt a guy towering over him? Williamson might of wobbled him or whatever but point is Wlad won the fight, and that was right when he was getting with Steward, he's improved leaps and bounds since then, Haye is gonna be eating jabs and straight rights all 5 rounds, then he'll fall and sleep on the canvas

Although I do agree that Haye's gonna have a lot o trouble against Wlad, could you not also agree that Haye has improved since his KO by Thompson?....I think Wlad will win eventually, but wont get through the night without being rocked and scared quite a few times by Haye.
I hope Haye does win though, but then, this is about being honest, not biased and patriotic.

Why not also explain that it was Hayes 11th fight as a Pro against a very experienced and durable former World Champion.
And if your going to be balanced - how about putting up Klitschko getting Ko'd by journeyman Ross Purrity (in Wladimirs 25th fight)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8sFwwLG5iU
If we go by your reasoning then surely if a Journeyman like Purrity can KO Wladimir then there is every chance that Haye can.

Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
There is a chance that David Haye might win.....there's a significantly larger chance that Wlad ruins David Haye's entire career with one hell of an ass whuppin'
Mark my words, David Haye won't ever be the same fighter after Wladimir destroys him....he'll become gun shy, he'll be even more chinny (if that's possible for David), and he'll avoid throwing any combinations.
David Haye is a limited fighter who has neither the strength, skill, or the heart to beat Wladimir. Wladimir will use talent and his God given gifts to defeat David Haye in a massacre for British heavyweight boxing the likes they have never seen. David Haye will be lucky to be as good as Danny Williams after getting beaten by Wladimir.
3 fighters had 3 special nights to beat Wladimir....2 absorbed great punishment and weathered a hail of power punches to beat Wladimir and 1 fighter was a strategically bad match up for pretty much anyone. David Haye is a skinnier and chinnier Sam Peter, nothing more.

Is that post a joke or the ramblings of someone who hasn't seen Haye fight.
Limited fighter with no skill? I'll have some of what your smoking.
Haye is more talented than Klitschko ability wise and technically - the only question mark on him is his chin. If he can't take a punch at Heavyweight then ability goes out the window.
He is faster than Wladimir and hits harder - he also has better reflexes. He also isn't clumsy like Wlad.
We shall see Haye KO Wladimir then listen to the haters claim a lucky punch.
As for comparing Haye to Sam Peter - again you obviously haven't seen much of Haye fighting as his style is nowhere near that off Peters - Sam is a powerpunching plodder who doesn't train properly - Haye is fast and relies on reflexes and power.
Anyway, I hope Wladimir is getting paid well as this will be his pension fight.

Lyle tends to have a little rant now and then ;D
But to say Haye hits harder than Wlad? Im pretty sure Wlad hits harder, Haye imo has improved so much as he has gained ecperience even the americans say he is one of the most improved fighters they ever seen, apparently when he first went over sparring in the USA, the sparring fighters didnt think much if anything about him, but now i read they cant beleive its the same guy.
I dont think Haye can beat Wlad i think Hayes chin is not that great and he will never have tested a shot in a fight like Wlads.

Anyway, I hope Wladimir is getting paid well as this will be his pension fight.
thats about as accurate as you`ll hope to get
Lyles samuel peter remark clearly shows he knows nothing about david other than pictures and a boxrec profile. The guy has just come up from cruserweight for gods sake and you think his gonna try a peter/toney esque plodding forward style instead of the fast paced aggresive one that saw him clear up at 200pounds??
Haye is chisseled to the max and doesnt have an ounce of fat on him. He is also incredibly fast handed, throws monster punches the only question still out on the man is whether he has the chin to fight wlad or vitali and theres only one way we`ll find that out.
If im a betting man id give the slightest of edges to haye on the basis that he would have to find a way through the Wlad jab to take him out and what mormeck can do wlad can do three times as destructive. But technically and physically haye has the edge

Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
Seriously how do you know that David Haye hits harder than Wlad? I seriously doubt this........in fact I would wager a great deal that he hits harder.
