What do you think would have happened if Barrera was allowed by the doctor to continue fighting?
Try your best guess and vote in the poll...;)

Re: What do you think would have happened if Barrera was allowed to continue fighting
Look, the fight would have got stopped sooner or later. I can't see how he would have been able or allowed to continue like that. It would have been dangerous to let it continue.

Re: What do you think would have happened if Barrera was allowed to continue fighting
Like Missy says, it would have got stopped. It shouldn't have got past the 2nd round, let alone get into the 5th. Barrera was in no position to fight effectively with that damage. He was having to reset constantly after wiping blood from his eyes onto his shorts.

Re: What do you think wud have happened if Barrera was allowed to continue fighting?
It's a fact that the doctor allowed Barrera to continue fighting for 4 rounds, what would have happened if he was allowed to fight 'til the end of 12 rounds??
Barrera was able to "wobble" Amir on several occasions, do you think he will finally catch Amir with a big one before the 12 rounds ends?
Try your best guess...

Re: What do you think wud have happened if Barrera was allowed to continue fighting?
It's not a fair poll as no sane doctor would have allowed it to go on. This is what I wrote on the other thread...

There is the possibility that Barrera would have stopped him, but Barrera couldn't work effectively with that skull wound. I don't think continuing needs to be considered really, because it would most likely have become more of a farce than it already was. :-\

That sane doctor you're talking about allowed Barrera to continue fighting for 4 rounds before he finally pulled the plug and many said that skull cut is the same from the 1st round until the 5th...
If that sane doctor allowed it for 4 rounds then there's a possibility he could have allowed it 'til the end...

Re: What do you think wud have happened if Barrera was allowed to continue fighting?
Barrera would have been brutally knocked out. Fact. Khan said so.
-
Re: What do you think wud have happened if Barrera was allowed to continue fighting?
Obviously there was no possible way they could of got through another 7rounds which rules out a scorecard decision and barrera would of been completely ineffectual fighting with one eye hence eventually either the ref or marcos corner would of had to of pulled him out.
no brainer really!

Michael Katsidis was allowed by a sane doctor to continue fighting Cezar Amonsot 'til the end even with 4 or 5 serious cuts on his face...

Anyway that wasn't really a cut on Barreras head it looked like he'd been hit over the head with an axe.
Hit an artery too apparantley and his skull was visible too.

Well that sane doctor got a lot a criticism after the fight for allowing Katsidis to fight on... Concerned fans even wrote protest letter to the commission...
Well my point is, there could be a insane doctor out there that could have allowed Barrera to fight on for 7 more rounds (that's if Barrera can last that long)...

You implying concerned fans should write to the stuffy boys at the BBBoC.....it's an idea.
Maybe mr Parris could get coshed on the head and see how long he thinks he needs before we call a doctor to him?....only joking;D

Re: What do you think wud have happened if Barrera was allowed to continue fighting?
So far, no one voting (actually guessing) for a Barrera KO or decision win ?? Even if he's able to "wobble" Amir on several occassions ??
So I think it's only Barrera thinking he can still win since he decided to continue fighting on... Hope Barrera a member of this forum so that he can vote for himself...;)

Re: Pls. delete... Duplicate thread...
I said before that I will not vote in this, I like to think Barrera would have caught him, but Khan was taking advantage of the situation offered him.
Who knows, Saddoboxer?? I just like to think of the fight as void and leave it at that. :-\

It's not acceptable to me but fact that it happened then there's possibility it can happen again in another fight in the future... Who knows what these "sane" doctors are thinking...

Re: What do you think would have happened if Barrera was allowed by the doctor to con
it would appear not to be the fighters safety.

Well I'm just trying to stir your wild imagination... Were you at any moment in that fight thinking that Barrera has a chance to land that big one?? Specially that moment when MAB wobbled Amir...

hehe :) I'm imagining you're having mixed emotions watching that fight... Jumping up and down, screaming when Barrera wobbled Khan at one point... and biting your nails, sulking when Khan landing flurries on bloodied Barrera pinned on the ropes... ;D

Re: What do you think would have happened if Barrera was allowed by the doctor to con
Like Barrera said after the fight, it should have been stopped when the cut happened as it was clear he wouldn't complete the fight. The fact that it was Barrera a tough old proven legend probably worked against him in the end as the ref and ringside doctor probably gave him more leniency than they would for an ordinary fighter.

You leave my wild imagination out of this! ;D
There was always that chance. Barrera seemed to wobble Khan with shots that for me were not fully set. Being on the back foot and unable to see made it difficult to lauch effective, meaningful attacks though.
Barrera would throw and immediately be blinking away or having to reset by wiping away the blood.
I do think Khan would have slowed down and that would have provided more opportunities for Barrera. But it's a crazy notion to think of that fight going into the 9th or the 12th round. It's mentalism of the highest order.
As someone said earlier, he would have bled to death! Well, probably not...but you see what I mean? :-\
