Darchinyan-Joseph "King Kong" Agbeko
No matter what you think of Vic's personality you have to respect where he's went in his career since losing to Nonito Who?
Now he's moving up to 118 to face fellow power-puncher Joesph Agbeko.
Should be a classic chess match ;D

Re: Darchinyan-Joseph "King Kong" Agbeko
yup, a chess match between players who are throwing chess pieces at each other. lol
Re: Darchinyan-Joseph "King Kong" Agbeko
This will be a good fight... Props to "King Kong" and "Crab"...
.
Re: Darchinyan-Joseph "King Kong" Agbeko
Brilliant move by Vic, the fight is very winable for him.
Agbekos a good fighter but Vic will win this one that will make him a 3 division champ.
Don't like the guy much but Shaws def. handling this right...
Re: Darchinyan-Joseph "King Kong" Agbeko
I'm hopin Agbeko batters him, although in all honesty I can't see it, Vic can be just too difficult inside the ring and I reckon he catches Joseph eventually.

Vic is the man if he wins this fight. Who won't Vic fight? He has challenged every major player at around his weight. And rumor has it he wants Vasquez? Geez...
Re: Darchinyan-Joseph "King Kong" Agbeko
I have not seen Agbeko but he is ranked #5 at bantam by ring.
I like Vic, he is going on search and destroy missions lately. Moving up in weight and not backing down from good opp..
If he gets past Agbeko and can get a fight with a war-torn Vasquez at 122 he has a possibility of making himself a 4 division champ.
Timing is everything..
Looking forward to see what the future holds for him.

Well to be fair both Izzy & Rafa have take out a lot of eachother I sadly say that just about anyone will beat them as I feel neither fighter will be the same...
Now Vic takes on Hozumi or Celestino then that's saying something.
Re: Darchinyan-Joseph "King Kong" Agbeko
You know...Vic may be one of the most arrogant self stroking guys around to day.But I absolutely respect him for taking all comers and backing his words with actions.
Maybe its the adult beverages and the late hour....But I think Agbeko beats him :-X.I know,I know King Kong is short on defense, squares up and leans in on guys,he is insulted at the mere suggestion of "move your head",and was in a rough back & forth battle with Gonzalez last outing but my first instinct is seeing his willing recklessness and huge volume with legit pop getting Vic all out of rhythm and legs all crossed up ???.Agbeko will take some hits but I think his output beats Vics counter shots. It may just come down to chins. This fight will be fiery from the opening bell and non stop until one is answering "four" to the question of 'how many fingers'.
Re: Darchinyan-Joseph "King Kong" Agbeko
never heard of the guy he's fighting. But respect for moving up.
Re: Darchinyan-Joseph "King Kong" Agbeko
Huge props to both guys for making this fight!
Agbeko is a tough, very entertaining fighter & their styles have the potential to clash in explosive fashion!
I see no possible way this goes the distance...
As a Raging Bull fan I gotta back Darchinyan but Agbeko will be there or there abouts the whole way!!!
Re: Darchinyan-Joseph "King Kong" Agbeko
Whos the bigger man naturally ? I'll go with him, if you all think they are that evenly matched.
Re: Darchinyan-Joseph "King Kong" Agbeko
From what I've seen of Vic the last couple of years I'm voting Vic. We know what he's made of.

Re: Darchinyan-Joseph "King Kong" Agbeko
How will Darchinyan's power do against Agbeko?.. Hell, he couldn't even hurt the bigger Donaire and we all know Agbeko is a natural 118 fighter. I wouldn't be surprised if Vic gets KOed.
But if Darchinyan wins this fight though, it will be from his newly improved defense and modified offense skill.
Re: Darchinyan-Joseph "King Kong" Agbeko
Id say Vic is one of the biggest punchers p4p and his power should move up with him .
I think a win here will propel him to the p4p listings.

I have to disagree with you as I feel Vic is the better puncher (than Gonzalez) & has proved it against a higher level of opposition.
Yeah. All Gonzalez has is power. You talking about a natural Bantamweight and a natural Flyweight. Gonzalez is the bigger fighter with the bigger punch. That don't mean he's the better fighter. Cuz he's not. There's no shame in losing to J. Gonzalez and Cordoba. Both are good fighters. And keep in mind William did floor both of them before losing.
Gonzalez' power is deceptive because it was built against questionable opposition. Nearly every time he's stepped up he's either failed or struggled! Yes there's no shame in losing to Jhonny or Cordoba as they are good fighters, I didn't aim to imply there was, its just that Cordoba is not that noted as a puncher. So its not like Agbeko done something that hadn't already been done.
Remember quite a few of Darchinyans earlier fights were around 115-118 before settling at 112. I don't think there is much difference in the natural weights. I realize Gonzalez has strayed above 118 a couple of times but has remained at 118 for the majority of the time.
I still feel is the bigger puncher!
I agree most of Gonzalez wins have been against questionable opposition. But he's done what he's suppose to do against them. And that's knock them out. The fact that he floored Jhonny and Cordoba before losing to them shows his power is not just an illusion.

No doubt
Re: Darchinyan-Joseph "King Kong" Agbeko
I saw and met abeko when he came out here and fought at arco on the dawson card, i'm not sure what that has to do with anything but i don't see any scenerio in where agbeko will win this fight vic overlooking him when he really wants fernando is agbekos best chance, agbeko has okay power but gets hit way too easy and too much for a guy like darchiniyan....it's not a matter of if it's a matter of when.
