Re: The fight we all wish we could have seen.
Jones would've trashed Calzaghe in his prime, but I dont think the OP meant that, did he:confused:. I think he meant who would have won. I personally think Ali would have done it. Tyson's opponents often came in with the wrong gameplan. Either that or they couldn't stick to it. The plan to beat Tyson was:
Throw the jab which he will certainly bob-and-weave to escape then throw a right uppercut or hook and catch him as he comes in. Ali was good at this especially in his prime when he could do this the quickly get out before Mike could do anything.

Re: The fight we all wish we could have seen.
Ali would have had Tyson. He was too smart & cocky to lose. Tyson was all about his opponents being afraid of him, similar to Sonny Liston in that respect, Ali had too much confidence to be afraid. If he could take the left hooks of Frazier, and the punches of Shavers & Foreman (possibly after his prime) then I think he could easily take those of Tyson's. Prime against Prime, I say Ali takes it by either a late KO or a UD. The only Heavies who I think might beat a prime Ali were Louis, Holmes and Frazier. Those years out of the ring took something away from Ali.

Liston - Frazier
This would be an awesome match sparks would fly from round 1. I'd have to back Frazier.

Interesting. Especially when you consider a fighters prime and that Henry Cooper had him glassy eyed, who knows how history would have been different if not for the cheating:cool:. Clay/Ali dropped by Cooper but withstood Frazier/Shavers/Foreman vs a fast powerful short puncher like Tyson.

Yeah, but all great fighters have those moments if they're coming up against top-class opposition, which is what Cooper was. Can you imagine any prospect now fighting a guy of Cooper's class? What do you mean by the cheating? Is that the vial or the mythical 5 minutes/seconds? But I stand by it, I think if anything that fight made Ali what he was in his prime.

This time last year we were all creaming ourselves over a potential cotto-mayweather match and that would of indeed been something special.

3:17 they ask Ali himself, and as much as I love him, I'd have to agree.

Re: The fight we all wish we could have seen.
For the first question,Ali would have won,he was too good at sniping away, and letting his opponent make their own mistakes,as time went on,it became very apparent with Mike, that if you frustrated him,he'd make plenty of mistakes. And Ali would have driven him to distraction.
As far as a bout Id love to see, prime Manfreddy vs prime Mancini, two pitbulls of a fighter going hammer and tongs for however long it lasted.
