It's due for limited release here in the States (NY/LA) this month and I've heard it's pretty good. I have a region free dvd player so now that I know ya'll will be getting it on dvd this week I'll just order it from over there.
i really fancy watchin it, couldnt afford to pop to cinema as promised would take my daughter to watch monsters vs aliens. the clips i saw on bunceys show really looked interesting
I saw it last Friday week. It's brilliant, the story of his life as narrated by him. He starts from his childhood and takes you all the way through his turbulent existence, right up to the present day. Really personal, unintentionally hilarious and hugely shocking all at once. Definitely recommended!
You also get to see footage from loads of his pro fights and a few amateur ones too... and amazing footage of him training with Cus D'amato, including a part where he is punching the heavy bag and producing sounds that are reminiscent of a machine gun. It's really astonishing!
Among his verbal revelations are;
He likes to dominate women sexually. ;)
He stomped Don King continually outside a hotel in front of two elderly white ladies.
And lastly, he visited the previously unknown country of Slavokia... yes Slavokia. ;D
I watched the new Tyson film/documentary last night after i bought it on its first day of release. Its really good.Like OGGIE said,Tyson talks and guilds you through his amazing life and awesome career. You get to witness Tyson crying and breaking up in tears as he talks about "CUS" training him as a young pro.Its pretty moving to see a animal like tyson cry in front of the camera's.The part during the film/Documentary were he reflects on the situation why he bit Evander Hollyfield's ear off is great. You can understand why Tyson went in a rage during that fight. In the hightlights of his fights when he was in his prime and at his most dangerous, you can here every heavy punch that lands due to the microphones being round at ringside.I've never heard his shots land soo loudly before. This dvd of TYSON is a must for any fan of Tyson.I would trully recommend you buy this.I really enjoyed it and will be watching it again soon during the week because its that good!;)
thanks for the reviews

Sounds really interesting, I've got to see this.
I agree with most of what you say, but I can't agree with the notion as to why he went into a rage against Evander.
The man is just a coward that did not want to get whipped all over again.
He deliberately went out without his gumshield & that suggests that it was premeditated, not an act of instant rage.
Aside from that, I enjoyed it & actually felt sorry for him at one point; which I cannot believe.:o
I always thought that he spat it out?

Yeah,it mentions in the dvd that he comes out at at Hollyfield without the gumshield at round 3.Soo Tyson must have been really hungry;D
Just watched it now and thought it was really good. Quite touching to see Tyson choking up, and quite glad to see him give no credit to Holyfield. Prime Tyson murders Holyfield.
Tyson should really write an autobiography. It would be well worth reading and could include so much that he is only able to touch upon in a documentary format like this.
Tyson is a name that still bounces off the lips of anyone. A total legend.
He had such incredible handspeed at a young age and they were thrown in bunches with mean intentions. The last decade of his career was a poor imitation really. But those initial years, he really was untouchable. Had it all.
The best heavyweight of all time for me.
When people talk about Tyson being around in a crap era, it's all bollocks. Certainly no worse than today. And even in the 90's, only Tyson's shadow was beaten. Lewis beat nothing at all.
Has anyone else seen the new Tyson dvd yet??I've watched 4 times now,its soo good.Infact i'd say its the best dvd i've bought this year for sure. Its a great watch!!!
I watched it lask week.. thought it would be same old same old but it was brilliant.
Completely biased told soley from his view but that was the point, obviously. He also comes across as naively honest yet smartly sly (if ya get me :-\).
He's telling the truth for sure!I love the part when Tyson is commentaing on the Holyfield fight were he bites off his ear.Holyfield did surely headbutt Tyson on a few occasions throughout both fights their had and i can understand Tysons view of it.Im not saying Holyfield headbutted Tyon on purpose but he does bore in with his head during the fight!Great watch,I REALLY LIKED THE DVD!!!!:D;)
I totally get that.. I've just started watching it last night for about 40 minutes.. And i'm sure even after watching him for 10 hours, you can't quite figure out if he's just a total dope who's missing a few brain cells but can construct an okay sentence and fight well... Or a very cunning, calculating genius who knows exactly how to keep everybody fooled into thinking he's not all there.....
I thinks that's a part of why he's so darn interesting to listen too.. You can't quite figure him out..
I had to force myself to stop watching because i needed sleep, but I will be watching this DVD tonight for sure and will be glued to it the whole time...
Im going to watch it again for the fifthed time in 2 weeks.Great!
You finally left Chantelle's thread then? :P
Yep i watched the Tyson film/documentary for the fifth last night. Its great!:)
watched it last night...really good, made alittle sense with holyfield but he wans't telling the whole truth IMO. but makes alot of excuses up for losing.... to rich, not traning, too old, the other guys cheated, not in love with the sport anymore. etc ...etc.
spoiled it alittle but not enough from stopping me really enjoying it and felt sorry for him when he chocked up talking about Cus.
hes looking more and more like George Foreman everyday :-X
Tyson does make a great point of Holtfield using his head during their two fights.Wether Holyfield intended to use his head or wether it was a accident on their two meetings is up for strong debate. It really is a interesting dvd to watch.I feel for Tyson a bit when he chokes up over talking about Cus!Great watch!;)
