Kotelnik is fighting Ortiz in June according to boxing rec. And if the fight is to take place that would mean Khan is going up to 140?

I would have thought he would have stuck around at 135 until a shot at a belt. Kotelnik seems like a very solid opponent, if the fight comes off it will be a decent test for Khan. A very decent matchup, I'm surprised he's going up to JWW though.Quote:

I think Khan moving up to 140 is a good decision, he's always been a welterweight draining himself down to lightweight in my eyes. is kinda typical for Khan though to fight the man he called the worst champio ever ;D Will be a good fight but Khan will win by TKO.
That would be a shorts night work. Hatton catches up with Khan quickly and out go the lights. I hope the fight never happens TBH. I don't want to see Khan near a name like Hatton until he's earned it. He hasn't done that by a long shot. This fight will be a step forward though, and if he wins it I will give him credit.Quote:

There are only 2-3 world fighters who right now would command a 10 million plus purse for the challengers and those men are mayweather, pacquiao and hatton.
Roach has convinced khan pac is gonna make light work of ricky and hatton will need amir at some point either towards the end of the year or early 2010.
If khan is indeed succesful and hatton takes a walloping then it would make perfect sense to have a hatton-khan fight at wembley stadium which would be as big if not bigger than benn-eubank!!!
Either way hatton would make amir his bitch

Something along the lines of Khan moving up to 140 to fight either Kotelnik or Rees for the title.
Kotelnik is a decent fighter.
If Khan wins he might have to defend against Ortiz which would be fun.
I've never minded Roach but he seems to live up to his surname an awful lot these days. I would even add the word Cock as a prefix. It just sounds apt. :pQuote:

Khan really is the biggest hype job in boxing. I've never really thought of myself as someone who could get on a fighters case heavily, but that Khan-Barrera fight really jolted me. And I find myself looking back through Khan's history and thinking WTF!!
A disaster waiting to happen and soon. Prescott knocked him out. I saw a video of him being stopped in the amateurs earlier too. The legs just go. The guy has absolutely NO chin. Punches fast and moves well, but can barely take a jab. He's been knocked down by smaller men all along the way too. Are people seeing something that I am missing here?? I really don't get it.
And that's the type of guy to help sell out Wembley against Hatton? Shocking really. I would be very surprised if he makes it that far.
I wonder if this will be for the WBA's regular title, super title, interim title or super interim title?

The thing with Khan is he seems to have improved his defense which was as big a problem as his chin but I don't think he hits very hard at all, at least compared to what some seem to think. Have got questions about his overall ring intelligence and instincts too.
This is pretty funny as I, like others on here, remember Khan saying Kotelnik was the worst world champ EVER on Bunces show last month. Talk about setting yourself up for a fall should you lose!

The move up will be fine as Khans a tall lightweight and he always looks too skinny at lightweight. The extra 5 pounds wont affect the speed.
And I totally agree with what people are saying about Hatton, theres no question Warrens got that in the back of his mind for next year should the results fall right this year. It would be mega$$$. Hatton will smash him to fcuk but at least he'll get paid muchos mola for taking a beating. Theres no way Khan could live with Hatton for any more than a bunch of rounds.
