whos ur faviorit boxer NEVER to win a title

Re: favorit boxer NEVER to win title
Do you mean world title?
If so, then I'm voting for Paul 'Scrap Iron' Ryan.
He was the most exciting fighter I've seen live.
He either got KOd, or he'd KO his opponent, there was no inbetween with him.

Re: favorit boxer NEVER to win title
yes sorry ment world title
-
Re: favorit boxer NEVER to win title
It's got to be Micheal Watson... no contest.

Well in that case I have to say Z Gorres and AJ Banal.

Re: favorit boxer NEVER to win title
it would have to be recent fighters because fighters of yesteryear had fewer title to fight for, therefore there would be less chance of winning a title. It's a laugh nowadays because there is quadruple the amount of titles and thus quadruple the amount of title holders.
-
Re: favorit boxer NEVER to win title
I'm sure there are others, but the first name that came to mind was Oscar Diaz.
-
Re: favorit boxer NEVER to win title
My two favourites are Micheal Watson, world class fighter would of been champ if it wasnt for that tragic night, Micheal Brodie got robbed against Willie Jorrin in 2000 i was ringside and felt for the lad.

Re: favorit boxer NEVER to win title
Herol 'Bomber' Graham was a mighty fine fighter who was never quite good enough to beat Hagler, and by 1987, Bomber was slightly past his prime, even though he would give The Bodysnatcher Mike McCallum hell, and but for a point deduction would of drawn with the Awesome Jamaican.
But Herol was no so much fun to watch, so as far as favorites go, I would say Shea Neary. He was a lot of fun in the early 90s, and won a piece god awful alphabet crap, but when he finally fought at World Class (against Micky Ward); he was found just a little wanting.

Re: favorit boxer NEVER to win title
umm Jerry Quarry & Edison Miranda are two that come to minde

Re: favorit boxer NEVER to win title
Oba Carr was always a favorite to watch. The elite were just to much for him.

That was in no small part down to me, I picked him to be the fighter of the 90s; with Manny behind him, he could not fail!

Well he was the Welterweight of the 90's. Right behind Ike Quartey, Felix Trinidad, Oscar De La Hoya, Pernell Whitaker and maybe Jose Luis Lopez.

Re: favorit boxer NEVER to win title
Right now...Andy Lee, he's in a deep division and he's hit sort of a plateau as far as showing power.
In history...hhhmmm, that's tough one..... Donovan 'Razor' Rudduck comes to mind, exciting fighter, bit of a weight problem later on in his career but he was pretty dangerous...had a chance to beat Tyson in the rematch.

Re: favorit boxer NEVER to win title
How could I forget George Chuvalo. Great guy with a tragic story.

Yaqui Lopez.Nothing pretty but went to hell and back.Would of loved to have seen Kevin Pompey get a major strap, just a give and take battler that came up short.Once he went north in weight and the wars caught up...it got ugly. Thomas Tate.He had Julian jackson resembling a drunken man on roller skates.

Lopez/Saad MuhammadII should be mandatory viewing to anyone who asks: Why should I watch boxing?

Re: favorit boxer NEVER to win title
Paul 'Hurricane' Briggs. Exciting fighter who could easily have got the nod v Adamek twice. Seems those 2 fights took everything he had cos has not fought for ages.

Has to be Augustus, although I'm hoping Librado Andrade wins a title soon or he may take that spot.

Mickey Ward technically never won a world title and he was all action, basically in EVERY fight

Herol Graham was the most talented Brit never to win a world title , closely followed by Mike Watson .

I agree. Briggs actually retired mate. Apparently he had some health problems.

Difinitely very entertaining to watch. His fight with Ward is one of my top 10 greatest fight.

Re: favorit boxer NEVER to win title
I would say Armando Muniz & Bennie Briscoe.

That's for sure and it's kinda hard not to at least appreciate the guy, never back down a challenge and knows how to bring the sparks in.

Agree re Graham, however your post reads as if he fought Hagler but he didn't , pitty he got a bit too careless against Julian Jackson or he wouldn't have been mentioned here !!

I remember watching the Brodie fight as well - one of the biggest robberies I've ever witnessed.
