Re: What Hatton will do to Pacquiao May 2nd...
Yeah because we've really seen Pacquiao master the check hook... I am not saying he won't win, but he won't win on a hook unless he has Hatton going backwards.

Re: What Hatton will do to Pacquiao May 2nd...
1, 10 or 20 years ago. Don't matter when. Fact is its happened, and it will happen again next month. You can't grow iron on a body.

Mayweather was toe to toe with Hatton most of the fight, he wasn't in the in the middle of the ring but on the ropes where Hatton is best, and Hatton still wasn't landing the best shots. Don't kid yourself into believing that Mayweather was truly trying to stay away from Hatton that fight, he wanted to beat Hatton on the inside which is why he hardly used lateral movement.

ricky will ware him down with those power shots and ko him late.

Yep,thats they way I think the fight will go.
Pac-Man's win at lightweight was against a decent but limited fighter who just happened to hold the wbc belt at the time but was not really a top lightweight.
His win at welterweight ,well we all know the story there. At the time DLH was really a lightmiddle who was weight drained and past his sell by date.
Hatton on the other hand is the best light-welter in the world and has been for a long time.
I just hope people dont start making excuse for MP after the fight.

I agree with that. I think the De La Hoya win flatters Pacman. Hes fighting the best 140 pound fighter in the world in Hatton. I think Hatton can wear Pacquiao down and stop him in 8.

Lol. That's like Hatton digging his own grave. How the hell can Hatton wear Pac down without his face getting sliced and diced with Pac's well known extreme punching precision? Pac is faster, slightly taller and has the 3" reach advantage, can dart in and out at will, and his hands are like meat grinder... they cut like knives.
Everytime Hatton lunges in and miss, he will be assaulted with barage of punches. "death by a thousand left hands"...
...and right hooks.

LOL, someone still isn't over the Hatton loss.. Mayweather beat hatton at his own game.. did you watch the fight? Did you hear Hatton, himself, state that he didn't think mayweather would be as good as he was on the inside?
This is why i really shouldn't read any more posts about Ricky or Pacman for at least a week before the fight.. because all you really have are fan boys for each fighter and it's ridiculously irritating..
I hope this fight ends in a double KO ending both of their careers.

In the opening round when Mayweather stumbled backwards was because he lost his footing not because Hatton caught him. I hope you don't think that jab landed hard enough to stun Mayweather. Never once in that fight did I think Mayweather was hurt or in trouble.
I was routing for Hatton in that fight too so I was already looking to aggrandize anything Hatton landed..

I think JLC hurt Floyd real good with the body shot. And also, Judah knocked him down but the ref didn't see it.

Nothing to do with Hatton falling head first into a the ring post then?
-
Re: What Hatton will do to Pacquiao May 2nd...
Mayweather was just off balance in the first round. A jab landed, but that weren't the problem, Mayweather was moving back. Similar to round one of David Haye v Enzo Maccarinelli, Haye stumbled back, not because of a punch though. A punch never even landed.

You don't even know which ref has been appointed? It's Bayless, a proper referee. Why the fuck you want Cortez to ref the fight?

If by standing toe-to-toe you mean clinching and rubbing his elbows in Hatton's face because he was too scared to actually fight him, then yeah, I agree.;) I'm not taking anything away from Mayweather - he had his tactics, and they worked. However, that doesn't change the fact he was afraid to catch one from Hatton. You could see the shock in his eyes when Hatton nearly knocked him down, and from then on it was elbows galore. And if you want to kid yourself and sweep all that under the rug, and say he was happy to trade shots with Hatton, then quite frankly you've left the land of bias and entered the land of delusion.

And he didn't almost DROP floyd, getting DROPPED is what happened to ricky,if floyd would have went down on that punch which did no damage it would have been an official knockdown, but in the boxing world when we say someone got DROPPED we mean they got dropped like a sack of potatoes

Re: What Hatton will do to Pacquiao May 2nd...
I am a Massive Hatton fan so may be a little biased but I really think the Hitman can pull this one off. Pacquiao fans, the bookies and the boxing press all have this down as an easy win for Manny partly due to his one sided demolition of Oscar De la Hoya. Oscar was shot at the weight and offered little or no resistance, throwing nothing in return. Light-Welterweight (140 lbs) is Ricky's division and he will be comfortable at this level standing toe to toe and coming forward throwing bigger and harder punches, (particularly to the body) than Pacquiao has ever had to deal with. The Pacmans coach Freddy Roach is predicting a third round KO, but if his fighter tries to get into a brawl with Ricky and not outbox him he will be in a lot of trouble. I think that Hatton will have improved his defence even more since the Malinaggi fight and against someone who doesn't run around the ring it will be more evident. He will have to watch out for the Pacman's fast left hand and keep working on punishing his arms so that when the Pacman drops them he can slip in and deliver the same devastating left hook that finished Castillo and numerous other opponents. I can't wait, hopefully Ricky can prove along with Froch on Saturday and David Haye in June that British boxers can compete with the best in the world.

It's not a great idea to run around a boxing forum calling fighters "bum" when you claim to come from a boxing family... they sure better be good. ;)

THIS GUY CLAIMS TO BE FROM A BOXING FAMILY. BET HE STILL LIVES IN THE BASEMENT OF HIS FATHERS HOUSE IN THE BACK STREETS OF LIVERPOOL SOMEWHERE.EATING FISH N CHIPS IN HIS UNDERWARE AND HATEING ON HATTON BECAUSE HE CANT BE LIKE HIM .HE WOULD WANT HATTON TO LOSE TO ANYONE.

Re: What Hatton will do to Pacquiao May 2nd...
Although Pac is way improved from them days I also think Hattons bodywork will be the difference and I see him winning by late stoppage!
-
Re: What Hatton will do to Pacquiao May 2nd...
If Hatton comes in with a good gameplan, then Pacquiao will be getting very sore ribs very quickly. On the other hand he could come in, push on, miss a few and get checked by Pacquiao a few times with his fast combos.
I'm sure both are very well prepared for what they think they'll be facing, I guess in a way it depends if Roach can out think Mayweather Snr or the other way round to a certain degree.
On a side note, sorry to take this off topic a bit but why is it that I can't see the quotes from The Boxing God?...is it because he's left/been kicked from the forum?..I'm still kinda new to a lot of the forum stuff....

i think ricky will no doubt will push pac on the back foot, theres no way it will be the other way round, and from what i seen pac cant fight on the backfoot so think thats the way fight will be won for ricky, and on boxing god i hope he is banned, hes a douche

Not only is he from a boxing family apparently but in the Anderson Silva vs Roy Jones thread he said boxing was a superior sport and went on to talk about how he was a boxer who within 4 months mastered MMA and ruled the gym and beat sponsored guys in the gym and knew more about MMA then anyone on this forum ;D

Re: What Hatton will do to Pacquiao May 2nd...
He should apply constant pressure in every seconds of the round and don't give pacquiao a chance to run. He should dictate his speciality which is "in fighting". And he should target Pacman's body, his weakness (he has been stopped before in body shot twice)... and pray.

winning by late stopage? NAH! if Hatton will not knock Manny Pacquiao in the first half of the fight, Hatton's chance of winning is slim. Pacman is monster, he has a lot of stamina in his tank, his speed and power is almost the same from 1st round to the 12 round, Hatton should stop Paquiao in early round or Pacquiao will eat him alive in 6th to 12th round.
-
Re: What Hatton will do to Pacquiao May 2nd...
Ricky will try to shove Manny to the ropes or the corner the whole night to unload massive bodyshots and hooks to the head. If unable to do so he will tie up Manny.
