Re: Calzaghe offers to manage Kessler
Seeing as it took him over a decade to get any meaningful fights I wouldn't want him managing me to be honest.
Any why manage Kessler a Dane, what about local Welsh talent?
I'd rather seem him in the ring again fighting Chad Dawson.

Re: Calzaghe offers to manage Kessler
LOL, Kessler should say "rematch, and you got a deal";D

Re: Calzaghe offers to manage Kessler
Joe and Enzo are the Mayweathers of England....I would stay away from them if I was Kessler.
.....but also if I was Mikkel Kessler I'd also plan on fighting someone with a pulse pretty soon, but that's just if I WAS Mikkel Kessler and I'm not, sooo, just my 2 cents

Re: Calzaghe offers to manage Kessler
I'm fed up with seeing one of my favourite fighters' talent stifled by poor management. Enough time has been wasted already and signing for a brand new, inexperienced promotional company will further delay Kessler's progression. He likes to be billed as 'Europe's De La Hoya' so he should go with Golden Boy imo.

Re: Calzaghe offers to manage Kessler
Bute, Ward, Miranda, Bika, Andre Dirrell, and hell even the guys at 175 look good right now. Kessler vs Winky Wright or Bernard Hopkins wouldn't be horrible

Re: Calzaghe offers to manage Kessler
Taylor/Kessler would be a great scrap. But Froch, may just pull a spoiler.I think Kessler batters Miranda right now.

Froch and Kessler would be a great fight , Kessler need's to get moving right now cos he is slowly becoming Mikkel who' especially when Froch burns Past Taylor straight to the top of mount Olympus on the way to the stratosphere to converse with the fistic gods of Valhalla before returning to complete his quest and become pound for pound numero uno .
There I said it .

Re: Calzaghe offers to manage Kessler
I really hope Kessler has the ambition to get to the top, as i think he has the goods. Would love to see him in with Froch after the Taylor fight, feel Froch would definately struggle with the big dane.

Re: Calzaghe offers to manage Kessler
if Joe Is As Good A Manager As A Fighter Than Kessler Would Be Well Advised To Take Him Up On It.lets Not Forget Hatton And Pac Are Only Fighting For The Best P4p Because Joe Retired.

Re: Calzaghe offers to manage Kessler
Kessler is apparently training for a mandatory against some nonentity. It looks like he's decided not to go the Mads Larsen route and retire rather than fight for Palle again. If he doesn't manage to get out of his Palle contract without it going to court it's unlikely we'll see him in any big fights again, which is a real shame. He's easily the best 168 pounder. I hope I'm wrong and he fights Bute, Taylor/Froch winner and moves up to 175, but I think Palle has him by the balls. Maybe he gets a big fight at the end of his contract, but isn't that another six fights or so?
-
Re: Calzaghe offers to manage Kessler
Kessler definitley needs some direction in his career since his defeat to Joe, and Joe knows a lot about being on the outside looking in from his days with Warren so I think it could be a good move personally

If that's the case, he should fight six times this year. All the guys in the WBA top 10 are stiffs except Ward. The number one contender is total tomato can. He's going to need to vacate that WBA belt and go for a unification match with Bute or Froch/Taylor if he wants to make a good fight and keep a belt.
If Taylor wins, I'm sure HBO would be interested in Kessler v Taylor and that might bring enough money for his current management to go for it. The risk-reward on that one would be pretty good. Froch - Kessler sounds more like a Showtime fight, probably shown on delay, but it might gate better and make it worth it for that.
Palle is probably looking to have him fight stiffs until he can make a fight with Balzsay. That's the safest fight with any shred of credibility.

I can just hear Calzaghe's sales pitch to Kessler "stick with me and I'll get you the Anthony Bonsante's of the world"

He can only fight when Palle does a promotion so twice a year or thereabouts. From what I read about the contract Palle has him by the balls.
