Any predictions on Juanma - Peñalosa?
I believe that this will be a though test for Juanma, but I think that he should be the winner. That "Phantom" right hook of Juanma is a deadly weapon, although Peñalosa has a very strong chin and this can a 12 rounds fight. Thisis a fight where Juanma probably will have to use all his resources to win and it should be a great fight (and I don't want to sound disrespecful to Peñalosa). If he wins, then I will be expecting the big fight with Vazquez where we should not see 12 rounds, it can be for any side and I hope that Juanma is also the winner (if the fight takes place).

Juanma's punch power is amazing. He makes me think about Wilfredo Gomez who was one of the best punchers of all times, and dominated the 122 division. I am not thinking that Juanma will KO in round 1 (I will be very happy and impressed if this happens), but I feel that he should be stopping Peñalosa in the mid rounds.

I hope this time Juanma let me finish my beer watching the fight. I believe this will be a tough fight for Juanma and I hoping that he wins. It seems that we will be cheering our fighters tonight. Good luck my friend... In the next fight ;D

Penalosa is a southpaw himself so yea shouldn't really be a prob in style for either fighter, :rolleyes: Penalosa is gonna get battered, only thing is i think he'll be able to finish the 12th standing only to hear that he completely got dominated and lost the UD

Well tomorrow Peñalosa may eat some oatmeal for breakfast as he will be having Juanma's right hook for dinner tonight.

Juanma looked impressive, so strong. My respect to Gerry's chin, he received a lot of punches and kept going bravely until his corner stopped the fight.
I am hoping Juanma can fight Vazquez or Marquez next before moving to 126.

Peñalosa has SOME CHIN! He put on a good show, and got a standing "O" from the crowd. I was happy to see Juanma get the work he needed. I was happier still that he threw so many punches and yet kept coming till the end. What was it... over 1000 punches in 9 rounds? Good work.

Peñalosa is one of the very few who took JuanMa past 9 rounds...
JuanMa is just much stronger, very discipline, superb workrate and stamina... As what Julius said, JuanMa is a beast... Props to him...

juanma is way too strong... although i see that juanma is hittable but gerry has no power on his punches... but i give credit for gerry not giving up until the end...:)

Youth, size, strength, and skills JuanMa Lopez has it all. Props to him, his reign will be long and lasting, perseverance will be the key to this. He brought pride to his people as did Penalosa, altho with the later, even in defeat.

I have to say , Congratulation for both in make a great spectacle for the fans , this fight both demonstrated the courage until the end , i never seen Penalosa taking a lot of punches like he did and Juanma showed how Stamina he have also , so who think to figth Juanma next , have to be sure what will going bring ..................

Congratulations to your fighter Macho! Juanma proved me wrong. He totally outclassed Gerry from beginning to end. No excuses. I became an instant Juanma fan! I love the crowd too giving props to Gerry after the fight.

Juanma was great last night he proved that he has the stamina to fight more than one round, but don't blame him because his opponents fall to quick ;D
My respect to Peñalosa who showed a very big heart, he also gained the respect of the crowd.
For Juanma, I hope his next fight is with either Vzquez or Marquez. I believe it can be Vazquez who was showing more willingness to fight Juanma. This will be a big challenge and from now I can predict that it can be candidate to fight of the year if it happens.

JuanMa appears to have an iron chin and strong will. Penalosa hit him with some huge shots......
I would have probably let him go another round as it seemed JuanMa was tiring a wee bit.....but he had a huge uphill battle....
Lopez seems to be a machine though and will be hard to beat. Watching him reminded me of Paul Williams, they both just keep throwing power shots, they take some but never break stride.....Awesome!!!
