i no hopkins is meant to be retiring, but just had a thought,with frochs great win last night over taylor who has beaten hopkins twice, i think hopkins will see that fight and see alot of flaws in froch that he could take advantage of, i think its a very winnable fight for hopkins, does anyone think he could be tempted

Would be Hopkins-Pavlik all over again, and whilst Froch's win was great, he isn't in REAL superfight territory yet to be B-Hop's swansong. Hopkins won't go down & I think will only stay for either Calzaghe or Adamek.

I really think Froch would beat Hopkins, I'd have him a heavy favourite.
Not a prime Hopkins of course, but the B Hop of now. He's aging daily and his win over Pavlik had a lot to do with the fact that Pavlik did NOTHING in that fight.
Froch is far less worried about getting hit than Pavlik and would just wade in regardless. Unless Hopkins knocked him out he'd find it hard going in the late rounds and resort to holding, low blows and rough house tactics to stay in the fight.
You guys are seriously underating Froch and overatting Hopkins at this stage in his career. Yes he's a tough guy to beat still at 43 but he doesn't have the stamina and legs of old and could deteriorate quickly now.
It's no coincidence that his two biggest wins in his old years against Tarver and Pavlik cooincided with both of these fighters giving the worst performances of their careers.
If Hopkins and Pavlik fought again at 168 and Pavlik was healthy, I'd pick him over Bernard also.

Don't think its an advisable fight for Froch.Hes put himself on the map as far as Stateside goes,whatever the circumstances and trailing.He pulled it out from the fire,made a huge statement and earned a big match.But Hopkins would exploit his defensive lapses,willingness to walk forward,wide punches badly.Hopkins would fold him up.
Froch didnt respect Taylor and got shocked he was setting his feet and looking clumbsy trying to time Taylo with the big right ut i think he'll learn and not be so gung ho .
Hopkins has nothing left to prove i hope retires now
Froch would get embarrased and outclassed in every department by B-Hop.

If you want to kill any momentum of exposure the Super middleweight class will get then put Hopkins in there.
That fight was one of the greatest super middleweight matches i've ever seen and it put the division on notice to the world much in the way that Hamed vs Kelley did for the featherweight division. I think they should take the ball and run with it. Would be nice if Super Middleweight joined, 147 and 130 - 140 as one of the most watched divisions.

Hopkins is a smart guy though, If he fells a decline in his arsenal he will retire, Hopkins has been all about the legacy recently.
If the fight was signed for the summer i would still pick Hopkins because i fell Bhop wouldn't risk his legacy by fighting Froch not being at his current best. If the Hopkins that fought Pavlik showed up Froch would get exposed.
Lets wakeup or keep it real. This would a mismatch. Froch has more fundamental flaws than Pavlik and he is there to be hit way more than Pavlik. Lets not forget that Froch got outboxed by a guy who in Taylor is no savvy boxer himself. BHop is an all time great tactician and would have fun with Froch's wide open style. I thought Froch would do much better against a guy like Taylor's style because Taylor isn't exactly that smart of a fighter. BHop is extremely intellgent in that ring and would have a clinic teaching Froch that there are perfected slips, dips, angles, and counters in his boxing arsenal that Froch is unware of according to his style. Froch's style of "not giving a f**k I just want in" would turn into a sparring/target session for BHop. BHop/Dawson is the only fight that matters for BHop because Calzaghe is retired. Other than that, BHop ride off into ths sunset. You're a legend.

B-Hop could deteriorate quickly but imo he could also put on another clinic and outclass Froch. I like Froch a lot and i think he's had a rough deal from a few on here just lately but i only see him winning if Hopkins fades big time.
