What is not to like about Manny?
Seriously, not that I care if people hate him, I hate lots of fighters for crazy reasons, there's a guy named Luis Yanez and he's only had 1 pro fight and I already hate him
but seriously I can't think of any reasons to unless a)he beat your favorite fighters, a bit lame IMO but who cares or b)you can't stand his fans, granted I see your point somewhat
Other than that, he fights anyone. LOL the guy moves up a division to fight a pretty much prime MAB then in his next fight takes on an incredibly dangerous high risk/low reward guy in JMM that he didn't have to fight at all, gets a draw (which would have been a win if there had been some judging competence in the first round) and then immediately wants a rematch ;D After Beristain prices JMM out he decides to move up to 130 to fight Morales. And its just gone on and on since, dude is scared of nothing.
And how often do you find a P4P number 1 guy as exciting as Manny? How many times do you see him stink it out in a fight he should dominate?
Exciting, fights anybody, not too obnoxious outside the ring. There's not much to dislike IMO.
This avatar was a joke because of the backlash on here against Manny because of his fans but its become serious, I am now officially a Manny Pacquaio nut hugger.
Expect me to get more obnoxious as the day goes by.

Stop gloating you pactard.

Re: What is not to like about Manny?
Pacman enters the Wild Card Gym for the 1st time and is greeted by Freddie Roach.
Roach- "their strength, and their speed, are still based in a world that is built on rules. Because of that, they will never be as strong, or as fast, as *you* can be."
Pacquiao- "What are you trying to tell me? That I can dodge punches?"
Roach- "No, Manny. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't have to" ;)

I wouldn't gloat about that, I like Ricky. I might be forced to if he beat Floyd.

Re: What is not to like about Manny?
He's an ATG and I feel privileged that I get to watch him in his prime. I'm salivating at the prospect of Pac - Mayweather, or Pac - Cotto
My only problem with him, and the only problem I have ever had with him, is his fanboys.
-
Re: What is not to like about Manny?
I like Pac. Ive never been bothered by his fans in the slightest. In fact, I don't mind people running their mouth if they can back it up... obviously Pac lets his fists do the talking.
AS it goes - I'm gonna be a Pachugger from now on as well.

Re: What is not to like about Manny?
Pacquiao is a rockstar. He is awesome, I was Bilbo I'm sure I could find a way to wank to that fight last night. Fucking beautiful, I really did not think he would be able to pick Hatton off so well like that and with that speed and accuracy, it was beautiful and it's funny because before that first knockdown I thought the early signs were Hatton was going to be able to fight the fight he wanted to fight and then boom, knocked down. That was great, really great one of the coolest moments ever, way better then the De La Hoya fight. Awesome, Pacquiao is AWESOME.
-
Re: What is not to like about Manny?
I love Pacquiao, he's a great fighter and exciting in every fight. What makes him so great is how humble he is outside the ring, he certainly fights for his country every time. It's the same reason with CFH, the only problem is a few of his fanboys. However being totally honest, there hasn't been one problem from them after this Hatton fight.
-
Re: What is not to like about Manny?
Everytime I've seen him interviewed etc I've liked him.. seems very humble and down to earth... obviously you can't fault his career/skills either.
I need to check myself sometimes though... his fanboys (not his fans) piss me off to no end... reading some of their posts (especially from a new member currently gloating all over here) I find myself thinking 'This fanboy is a twat... I hope PBF beats Pacman just to piss this guy off'.
I don't think that Pac's fanboys realise that they actually make us want pac to get beaten... despite the fact we have every reason to like Pac... they're just so irratating!! ;)

I don't think they care. I've repeatedly said that Pacquiao is a fighter I should be absolutely in love with watching, but because of his idiot fans I routinely find myself cheering for him to get brutally knocked out. It's juvenile and senseless, I know, but I can't help myself.
If Mayweather is even 80% what he used to be, I think he takes Pac to school.

Re: What is not to like about Manny?
Wlad's fans annoyed me when I first came on here which made me turn more against him so its not just you CFH, but then he became boring which made my dislike more legitimate.

At least you have some justification for disliking Wlad. I readily admit that I have no defensible reason for wishing savage defeat upon Pacquiao other than an overwhelming desire to bathe joyously in the swift-flowing tears of his fanboys.

Re: What is not to like about Manny?
Hes he kind of fighter that will be talked about alongside some of the ATG fighters in the years to come. When its all over he will probably be a real legend in boxing without any quetion marks. Hes become bigger than a sports figure. It is pretty amazing watching him evolve into something so big and its humbling to see how he has stayed honest and true to his roots while maintaining his focus on boxing. He seems to take his place in the world very seriously. It is hard not to like him.

Pac is a liar. He said he's not gonna go for knock out.
Plus, don't you feel any kind of compassion to Hatton family?
-
Re: What is not to like about Manny?
A truly extraordinary fighter that has transcended the sport. Great fighter. Always enjoy watching him fight.

Re: What is not to like about Manny?
He's a fighter with a freakish straight left hand who throws from all angles.
I thought(wrong) the loss to Medgeon was a big turning point, Its not sure if he's going to have a title shot again. props to his Handlers for bringing him to Roach ( *Roach was already training Penalosa againts Tokuyama b4 Manny came)
He's now a complete fighter w/c is very very difficult to solve unless you're JMM ( @140 PAC KO's JMM IMO).

Re: What is not to like about Manny?
I've been following Pacquiao since my assignment in the Philippines (1997) comparing his success to that of Espinoza, and I am just amazed ever time he defeats such big names in boxing. He just gets bigger and bigger... Today pales in comparison... most people in the Philippines didn't even know who he was then. I love watching this kid!
I love Brawlers and I loved watch Ricky over the years, I felt bad when he got Ko'd by Mayweather. I especially liked seeing him rough up Mayweather.
I saw the Hatton fight PPV with a bunch friends and was totally shocked to see Ricky come out right away and do his thing. When that KO came at the end of the second, 'Everyone' in the room was totally dumbfounded at the sight of Ricky being turned on his side with concern. When the announcers sad they weren't sure they should move him some people commented yea they shouldn't but I said because he could have a reaction and swallow his tongue its better to turn him and it didn't look like he had any neck problems. (some nurses in the room) The first reaction was arms in the air, (A Pacquiao favored room) the second was concern for Ricky's health. Many of the comments were they felt sorry for all the Hatton fans because they were so excited and their party is dulled down by the lose so fast. My reaction was the same but I'm sure Hatton fans found something to celebrate even without a victory. I wouldn't be surprised if thousands fans showed up to greet Hatton when he steps off the plane. I kinda thing that nuthuggers respect Hatton and brit fans not to rub their noses in it. I can also see a few trying to run Mayweather Sr. out of town!

Re: What is not to like about Manny?
The thing I don't like about him is he's beaten four yes FOUR of my all time favourite fighters-
Oscar De La Hoya
Erik Morales
Marco Antonio Barrera
Ricky Hatton
-
Re: What is not to like about Manny?
PACFANS those who doesnt know much about boxing but are pac nuthuggers.
most of them lurks on youtube posting comments about how god like pac is and that he is the mexicutioner. imho thats stuupid!
im pinoy too not as knowledgable about boxing but i never hated on pacs opponents.
even more liked pac cause he fights for our country, god and his fans. some think that its a race thing but we pinoys are just like this we are proud to be filipinos. we stick together we even put our flags design on everything.

Re: What is not to like about Manny?
I think most people do like Pac but become annoyed with his fans. Pac is the ultimate fighter, willing to brawl, not afraid to lose and has the tools to give anyone trouble. On top of that he seems to be a nice guy.
