Re: Nonito Donaire Jr. cracks Ring Mag's Top 10 P4P List
It's good to see Donaire in the top 10! Well deserved IMO.
I think Paul Williams is missing from that list though...
-
Re: Nonito Donaire Jr. cracks Ring Mag's Top 10 P4P List
I'm sorry but wtf is up with those last 3, total bullshit, none of them should be up there.
Where is Chad Dawson? Mayweather should be in the top 10 already even though he is coming out of retirement. JML is better than those three right now and has beaten better guys. IMO Wladimir Klitschko has beaten better opposition than them, Paul Williams should be ahead of them, Adamek? Shane Fucking Mosley?

I think Mosley is #4?

Re: Nonito Donaire Jr. cracks Ring Mag's Top 10 P4P List
Donaire has lots of potential to follow PAC... No, Donaire is not the next Pacquiao coz "there's only one Manny Pacquiao"...
Donaire will be Donaire, a very skilled, smart, intelligent boxer... I want to see fights where his toughness, heart and guts will be fully tested...

Re: Nonito Donaire Jr. cracks Ring Mag's Top 10 P4P List
How can donaire be higher then vic? What has donaire done since beating him? Vic has won more titles and moved up in weight and beat better fighters and donaire has fought like twice since and he moves ahead of vic. Bullshit if you ask me.
-
Re: Nonito Donaire Jr. cracks Ring Mag's Top 10 P4P List
What has donaire done to be higher than Vic? Well the answer is simple. He TKoed Vic badly and skillfully that I can't see Vic winning if they fight again.

And whats your point? If hatton beat pacman, does hatton jump to number 1? It does not work like that. Vic has done way more then what donaire has done in the last 12 months. Donaire is living off the one win, he has done shit all since it. If anything he should fall out of the p4p list. Its like when Jermaine Taylor beat hopkins, i think at the time hopkins was number 1 and he got beat...he fell in the list but taylor didnt automatically jump in front of him.

The point is, Donaire is better than Vic. Hatton beating Pac is different because it's clear that there are more fighter worthy of top 1 e.g. JMM.
Putting Donaire in front of Vic is valid since they're not fighting for the #1 position. It's like Hopkins beating Pavlik. Hope you see the point. You can't put pavlik over Hopkins no matter how inactive hopkins was before the fight.

But im not saying before the fight mate, donaire has done shit all recently. Vic has dominated arce, mijares, kirilov since donaire. Who has donaire beat since that fight? It does not matter about how skilled the fighter seems to be, it goes on what you have done recently. Donaire might of beat a couple of fighters since that fight but were they world class? Are they as good as what those 3 fighters vic dominated? If they are not then vic should be put ahead as he has done much more. P4P has always been about what you have done recently...when they update it the last couple of spots have always been dealt with in a "what have you done for me lately" kind of attitude. I agree the top spots are thought about more because they are at the top and if they are inactive then they get some slack.

Ranking pound for pound really is very tricky. For now, Vic needs to fight Donaire. If he wins, he could jump 3 to 4 spots.

Vic was already on Ring Mag's top 10 P4P list before the Donaire-Martinez fight... So Ring Mag did recognized Vic's accomplishment... It's only that Ring Mag was so impressed of Donaire's trashing of Martinez and they placed Donaire in the top 10 just ahead of Vic...;)

I was about to mention those names but that would be enticing more debates. ;D Just to make the argument short, Donaire's current wins were impressive.

Yeah yeah, i just thought well using mijares as a door mat who was ranked p4p, knocking out arce who most thought was one of the best there was to offer and kirilov who had been a highly spoken of by everybody would qualify more then maldonado who vic had already knocked out, Mthalane who had fought nobody (last fight was against hussein who arce knocked out in 2) and Martinez whos record looks like the mexican cab driver listings ;D

Re: Nonito Donaire Jr. cracks Ring Mag's Top 10 P4P List
I'm actually a bit torn about whether or not Donaire deserves to be before or after Vic. I agree that Donaire should be ranked ahead of Vic because Donaire dominated him in their fight. BUT I also think Vic should be ahead of Donaire because Vic has been doing some big things lately. I guess it's subjective to what you think is more important: head-to-head (years ago) or recent activity.

People who haven't seen the fight may now think that Donaire put a dominating performance on Darchinyan...which he didn't...the fight was even until the ko...to say that Donaire beats Darchinyan any time is pretty ignorant...

Re: Nonito Donaire Jr. cracks Ring Mag's Top 10 P4P List
WTF!! Why is Vasquez still ranked 5th? I posted this before on another thread and I'm still baffled as to why this fu##ing guy is ranked so high up there. To me there are alot more better candidates that should be ranked over him. I guess if you get in a memorable trilogy and get beaten up and bloodied then you should be considered a p4p fighter even though he has been knocked out 3 times in his career. Why is there no Paul Williams in there? As far as I'm concerned R Marquez can be dropped out of there also. Hell Vlad should be ranked in there for the title defenses and cleaning out the heavies and taking on a former undisputed champion in Haye. Chad Dawson should be in there Thomasz Adamek or even Juan Manuel Lopez would be more fitting then Donaire, Marquez or Vasquez.

i kinda agree with what u said about vasquez and marquez its been a year or longer since they fought and they still on the p4p list. bullshit if u ask me.

Re: Nonito Donaire Jr. cracks Ring Mag's Top 10 P4P List
So even if Donaire stayed in active for the rest of the yr while vic continued to dominated people this yr you are all saying he has to stay ahead of vic coz he beat him? That fight was last yr, he cant just sit in the p4p above vic coz of a fight he won a yr ago.

Vic was being given a boxing lesson against Donaire. He couldn't get any meaningful punch to land while Donaire was landing at will and outboxing him from the get go.

I'm a bit peeved at how Vasquez and Marquez are still ranked so high being inactive for quite some time now. I also agree with Paul Williams not being on the list at all!

Agreed. Vic couldn't do anything about the counter left hand. He kept eating 'em all night.

According to Ring Mag the answer is NO... I already pointed out that Ring Mag ranked Vic first in the Top 10 P4P after he defeated Arce then when Nonito annihilated Cobra Martinez, the people at Ring Mag were impressed and now ranked Nonito in the Top 10 and ahead of Vic...
You can always make a case of Nonito being ahead of Vic since Nonito annihilated Vic... IMO if they will have a rematch, Nonito will trash Vic for the second time...

Re: Nonito Donaire Jr. cracks Ring Mag's Top 10 P4P List
How big is this no. 8 P4P ranking for Nonito?
Well, I think it's the 1st time that 2 Filipino boxers were ranked among the Top 10 P4P at the same time...
Donaire's climb to No. 8 pound-for-pound makes him San Francisco (USA) Bay Area's top fighter in a century...

Nonito Donaire Jr. is a Filipino-American...;)

Damn. An even bigger idiot. It's pretty fukking clear you know nothing about Boxing and are just using the current popular names. Anybody that is stupid enough to think Adamek (:vd:) or Lopez (:vd::vd:) deserves to be ranked over Marquez or Vazquez is a fukking idiot. It's that simple

Okay your a jackass. I said that they would be more fitting to be in there not based on popularity or flavor of the month. Those 2 get into a memorable trilogy and all of a sudden there the best in the world. What does that make Gatti and Ward? Vazquez has been knocked out 3 out of 4 times including a 1st round ko. Raphs been knocked out 4 of 5 times. Does that make a p4p fighter? This is for you VD :fyou:

But your an idiot. So who the fukk cares?
:vd: And Pacquiao has 2 knock out losses. What's your point? It's better when you actually watch Boxing instead of just looking at there records. You actually surprised me. I knew you were an idiot. But I wasn't aware you were that big of an idiot. Your almost a Preme. Who the fukk has Lopez beaten that you would rank him over both Marquez and Vazquez?
Okay computer tough guy what is your example of a p4p fighter? Since you seem to know so much about it. I must be arguing with a family member of those 2.

Only a coward answers a question with a question. Before I answer your idiotic question, answer what was asked of you.

Re: Nonito Donaire Jr. cracks Ring Mag's Top 10 P4P List
Donaire's destruction of Martinez confirms his capabilities. He should moved up up soon. Darchinyan II would be great for Nonito.

Okay you p.o.s take your own advice and answer mine 1st. WTF is Vazquez ranked 5th? Can I get that out of you Mr boxing guru. You like to act like a 5 year old kid and do the name calling but you have not justified why your cousin is in the p4p rankings.

Are you fukking kidding me? You that clueless? Seriously what the fukk you doing posting here? PM bilbo and ask him for directions to the midget wrestling forums. Cuz you sure as hell don't belong here. You should be a fukking shame of yourself for even asking what Vazquez has done to be on the p4p list. No Boxing fan would ask that question. And the sad part is me telling you what he's done wouldn't do much good. Cuz you have no idea who Rafael Marquez, Oscar Larios, Jhonny Gonzalez, Ivan Hernandez or Jorge Julio even are. So what's the point? All you do is punch in Vazquez name. Or Marquez name and see there record. And your like "OMG he has 5 losses. He sucks." LOL. Fukking idiot

I know exactly who they are and we are basing a p4p standing more or less on a memorable trilogy and beating up cab drivers. If thats the case Vlad is the greatest and should be in the top 5. Oh wait he is a heavyweight and people expect more. Well then Lopez is 25-0 and has beaten Pennalosa, Ponce de leon, Medina and Andrade and should be considered a p4p entrant. If I'm aggravating you then bravo to me.:appl::fyou:

Even?! That's bull and you know it. Did you even see the fight? Donaire pretty much won all rounds. Imo, he dominated round 1 & 3.
Dominate is to strong a word. He was winning

Okay...since I appreciate C-Lo's and VD's opinion I'll have to rewatch the fight in the next days, but I couldn't care less what an overly loud newbie or Taeth are thinking...And don't get me wrong I like Donaire and think he could become a really, really big name...I just don't think that his fight with Darchinyan till the ko was as onesided as people here make it sound(but like I said I'll rewatch the fight and may see it different)...
