Jmm!!!!

I know most of you will pick floyd to beat jmm but I think jmm pulls it off at 140 or 147.

Floyd jr is done IMO, if he was still a legit 147 contender he would of fought for a title there right away but instead he wants to fight a 135 champion.:rolleyes: Floyd is showing some desperation here, 147 is packed and 154 Im sure he wants no part of aswell(paul williams). I think floyd should just focus on being a 140 pounder. He should fight JMM at 140 its cowardly to have JMM move up and him not move down. If he wanted to fight at 147 he should of fought for a title against a legit 147pounder.

JMM is not a fighter you take lightly, he is suprisingly strong phsyically and mentally. JMM is in search for greatness and this is exactly what he wants! As much as I want to see a Pac floyd match I think JMM is Pacs truest rival and we will get to see a third match at 140!

I think he has a good shot at doing so also. Floyd has no respect for the sport IMO. I lost respect for him about 4 years ago. I consider him a thief of this sport. I find it hard to believe he has any fans left at all.

JMM has been nothing but great for this game.

Much as I'd like to see JMM (or anyone for that matter) smash Mayweathers face in, I don't see it.

I not only don't see it happening, I see that if it happened it could potentially be damaging for boxing. The Pac/mayweather fight needs to happen. I think it is easily worth atleast 1 million more PPV buys and a lot of attention to the sport, even draw in new fans more then anything Pac/JMM related.

So I guess in some kinda strange way, much as I like JMM and want to see him win, on the other hand I think I need to see PBF win it for the greater good.

Just about every fight fan in the world rallies around whoever floyd's opponet is and this fight will be no different. JMM is no joke, he's a badass he got overlooked for a long time and is finally getting the big fights he's should have had for some time. But i just don't see a guy his size and with no real advantages over floyd beat him. Look i'd love to see floyd loose not as much as the next guy but i think it would be pretty cool to see but a guy that had trouble and lost (for whatever reason) to chris john isn't beating floyd. If john found a way it's a pretty much guarantee floyd will. The fight the boxing world wants in pac n floyd, there's very little chance we arent seeing that fight, floyds bank card would jump out of his pocket and cut jmm's head off first, and don kings would be close behind if it missed. I would like to see a 3rd fight just for the excitement of it. I don't really expect decisions to go to JMM specially after past 2 fights and after his win vs Hatton but not only that, there's a $$$$big fight$$$$$ in the horizon (Pacquiao vs Mayweather) so do we really think JMM could get a decision? It's all against him. But at least the fight will be fun to watch like past 2 if they ever met for the 3rd time.

I wish Pac vs PBF is already signed. Imagine, we would be rooting for JMM knowing that even if he wins, we will still get to see Pac vs PBF, sweet! I am dreaming too much, I know.

I favor PBF 60/40. We will not see the PBF that we use to know. He must have lost something with that long inactivity. As for JMM, he's not that quick anymore. He kept eating JD's punches because the reflex wasn't really there for him. He's lucky Diaz is not a puncher.

I have stated all the reasons Marquez is dangerous for Mayweather, but Mayweather has been the better fighter and don't forget it. He could lose because of the inactivity, but MAyweather at his best is better than Marquez, he wouldn't have had troubles with Chris John or Antonio Barrera.

I couldn't agree more Taeth. People are letting their disdain for a fighter(usually PBF) run their sense of thinking. Mayweather has plenty of great fighters on his resume and to be in all fairness no one who dislikes PBF ever mentions his lack of size yet he made a run with the welterweights and went to Oscar's domain at 154 to fight. PBF is no welterweight sized fighter he just fought there. PBF is really a full blown 140 fighter and JMM is an average sized 135 fighter. But I do think JMM will make this fight interesting for the first half especially considering PBF's layoff. But after PBF settles in and figures JMM out it'll be an easy decision. I can't believe how many people who hate PBF are writing off JMM, the #2 p4p guy! They don't realize they are actually shedding their denial of how great PBF really is. JMM should go the distance, he is not really a guy you should focus on KOing. It could get ugly for you.

In normal circumstances I would wanting Marquez to win but I want to see Pacquiao vs Mayweather and the only way that happens is with Mayweather winning this. I don't think Marquez is as big an underdog as some people are making out though.

Not sure if JMM will be able to still carry some pop to his punches after going up in weight. I can already see Mayweather doing his typical: few but accurate punches right on the spot, staying away from danger, etc. Sure, not so many people may like that style but regardless of what we say it is a SMART way to box and it is totally legal.

Heres what I honestly think of this current era....

I think Pac and JMM are truly the best in the sport.

Since their epic rematch they have continued their rivalry without sharing a ring.

Pac batterred David Diaz to win another division title.

JMM (not to be outdone) ko's never been ko'ed before casamayor to win LW title.

Pac goes up again tko's Oscar and gets a welterweight division win.

JMM becomes Lineal Lightweight Champion, ko's Juan Diaz.

Pac becomes Lineal Light Welterweight Champioin Ko's Ricky Hatton

JMM sends Floyd jr back to retirement and awards us true fan a third match with thee pacman!

I'll agree with with 95 percent of that...but on floyd's best day MAB and JMM would give floyd a close fight. 116-112 for floyd...and 115-113 is reasonable esp if oscar managed it. keep in mind that im taking in to consideration all the bullshit influence the crowd would have in scoring those fights seeing as how most think floyd's fights are boring...but is there's wasnt a crowd, floyd by UD 116-112 maybe even 117-112...JMM is the most complete fighter floyd will have faced..

If you watch the john fight, marquez didn't fight very aggressive and there was some home cooking going on. I watche the first 5 rounds and i hade marquez winning 4 and maybe a draw in the one round. I really don't think it was a legitimate loss.

in the case of PBF v OSCAR yeah 115-113 was bullshit..but there are some cases where 116-112 UD have been extremely close fights even though its reads 8 rounds to 4...

I was wondering about this the other day. Ask any hardcore PacFanBoy about Pac facing Mayweather, Cotto, Williams, JMM 3, etc. And the immediate answer you get is the typical "Pac will win easily...Pac will destroy him...Pac can't loose, no way..." and I asked myself if these people really know about other boxers out there. Sure, Pac has talent but to not even give a slight chance to his opponents really makes you think if they know that boxing has other boxers out there.

So far, in this forum, I have seen maybe one Filipino and PacFan (C-Lo one of them) or two see the possibility of Pac winning AND LOOSING vs whoever opponent out there. The rest give the typical answer.

JMM beats floyd, floyds career is over. This is a high risk low reward fight career wise. Whats he going to come up with after he loses, "oh it was ring rust thats why i got spanked"

Without his virginity floyd has nothing to brag about, especially losing from a lightweight.

nothing from his performance inside the ring. its a combination of between the lines type theory. At 154 we all know he wont fight there any time soon, at 147 he wants no piece of the top welterweights, at 140 he doesn't want to risk being weight drain. Why do you think his facing jmm, aint like jmm is the first to call him out. Its clear floyd wants money and also the lowest risk. Fighting jmm is reaching if not damn despret. If he came back and fought a welterweight and then fought jmm or pac it would of made more sense cause he clarified his return with a win in his real division. Or if he choose to atleast fight jmm at 140 which would be more equal cause both are going up or down just 1 division.

This fight with jmm is a handicap match, its bs for a so called great fighter to have all the favors in his corner.

The fact that Marquez lost to Chris John means absolutely nothing. Fighters can have bad nights. Virtually all of the best fighters in the history of boxing have lost at some point in their career. Great fighters learn and improve from their losses. JMM has his work cut out for him, but I give him as good a chance as any against floyd.

Give it him a chance, he fought Baldomir who was the top welterweight, linear champ, and Judah who was his predecessor. Then Mayweather went up to 154 beat one of the best fighters in that division in Oscar, if you are going by what Oscar did to Mayorga, and that Mayorga was considered among the top 3 154 pounders at the time. Then Mayweather was asked by the boxing community to fight Hatton, that was a huge fight and anyone who denies it in hindsight is being ignorant to just how big that fight was in the boxing public, and it was a fight that people had wanted to see for like 3 years. After that Mayweather retired IMO he didn't like the spotlight as much as he lead on. I think he gets stressed out by it. He will face Cotto if Cotto beats MOsley again, and beats the big names. I have no doubt out of Berto, Cotto, Mosley, and Clottey the guy who comes out on top of all that will face the guy who wins the Mayweather, JMM, Pacquiao trio, unless JMM wins it.

That's an interesting thought! At first read, I'm inclined to agree, But after a second thought, surely he'd still be able to get a fight with any of the top belt holders. Just not Pacquaio. A Floyd loss would virtually assure a trilogy for Marquez, but wouldn't end Mayweather's career. It would give him that "#1" he's looking to get back, only it would be in the wrong column. ;D

Floyd gets ridiculed for beating Oscar and hatton and some even said he didnt deserve p4p number 1.

Yet defeating Oscar and Hatton were the fights that "solidified" Pacquiao as p4p number 1?

Some people like Floyd more than Manny and Some people like Manny more than Floyd. It's the same treatment it just comes from different people. Floyd's persona is a bad guy. Manny's Persona is a good guy. It's a classic match.

The guy has never been really hit with a damaging blow, never really been in a knock out drag out fight.. he is in his early 30's and is WAY under mileage, and one of the most cerebral fighters of the last 50 years, not to mention is blessed with physically tremendous gifts and abilities, but relies on his technical brilliance and ability defensive/offensive 1st and physical gifts 2nd. Julius, Floyd has never struggled or labored through a fight and has never shown to have an off night. The guy is 1000000000% prepared for every fight, mentally and physically. He also with 2 months to go has to lose a whopping 6lbs:rolleyes: (he has been said to weigh about 150) judging by his latest press conference and the shape he was in, I would say he's dead on the money around target weight.
