Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
Fuck buttons, havent used buttons the whole way through the series. Always been a tpc user. Buttons take away the fact this game has revolutionised boxing games and taken them from being the button mashers they once were into a game of skill.
-
Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
button mashing ruins the game.. TPC is more realistic and awesome.
-
Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
I love TPC, way better than bloody buttom mashers, not that hard to get used to anyways.
-
Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
I like using the Buttons I seem to have more control on what I am doing. The TPC is very inconsistant for me. Either way though if its only TPC then I will get use to it no biggie for me.
-
Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
Heck I never knew you could use buttons. lol but that's a good thing if they got rid of the button smashing option.
-
Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
I hate when people use buttons, it really turned me off from online play.
I am excited that the option is gone.
-
Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
I used to be a button fanatic! But since I've been getting used to the demo, I find the combos coming out much easier with TPC.
I HATED IT AT FIRST, but it's really starting to leave an impression on me!
-
Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
I don't mind the TPC as long as it's a fighter who throws hook and uppercuts. But fighters like Morales, Jones the TPC is really hard, it won't always throw... you'll just stick your neck out.
I think that leaving it (button punching) out of the game might be a mistake.. but they could make it optional for fights, or a toggle setting for match.
I work with a company that writes software for controllers.. so it always baffles me when they dumb a game down in a series.. Settings, game designers!! Use them. Apply logic!

Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
YES!!!! No button mashers!!! FINALLY ;D
That shit used top make me sick. Those fuckers who resorted to 1-2-1-2-1-2-1-2'ing it cause they knew they could get off quicker than Me doing it.
Fuckers. I cant wait to get my revenge  ;)

Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
I agree with some of the other posters, the hell with button mashing. That ruined it for online when i used to play it last year, now there gonna have to learn to play the game properly like the rest of us. If they want button mashing it should only be for single player not online.

I don't play the PS3 anymore really but i was gonna get this game, and play the demo also. Is the demo out already in the USA ? because i thought it was gonna be released by May 4th. But that might be just for the UK.

YEA MAN! I've had the demo since they released it last Thursday. It's a way to get game reserves, over here. If you reserve the game, you get the demo a couple of weeks before they do a national release of it.

Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
....well if they don't have the button option then I may as well just sell my copy.
I'm not a "masher" I am just comfortable with the buttons why can't you change the options? Sure you guys who play online can hate on button mashers all you like but let me be totally honest TPC was the worst thing to happen to FN bar the parry punch blocking technique which froze your fighter for 30 seconds.
That's really disconcerting to hear...I thought this game was going to be perfect....well here's to FN5
-
Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
So is this the case for Xbox and for PS3? I hope not....TPC sucks so bad. I don't play online vs anybody so I don't care about button mashers and it's your own fault if you play against them anyway.

Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
Buttons are for skilless fags.
Fact. ;)
-
Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
If you cant use punch control it's cos you havn't given yourself enough time to get to grips with it.
I find TPC gives you exactly that. total easy control over what you want to throw and when, but it just takes a while to master it. With no buttons it will force players to become better and i gurentee those those dont currently use it you will be much better players.

Well if you're the dude going online and getting beaten by them I would have to disagree with your comment.
-
Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
I feel more comfortable with using thumbsticks myself, although I have no trouble with guys that prefer buttons. Shouldn't it should be developers' duty to accommodate different player's preferences? ???
No one is going to like the same thing, but to single out all of the button users seems to be pretty damn inconsiderate if you ask me.
-
Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
im gonna put it like this if u cant beat the guy even if hes using buttons then u just aint better than him plain n simple.

There's a learning curve, once you master it you can put together much more than you can with combos.
If you use TPC and a button masher beats you than you're also a skilless Fag.
Fact.

HAHAHA! I love how using the buttons or TPC is the barometer of how homosexual a person is..

I have gotten back into FNR3 and used TPC to get used to it before I get FNR4...they better have tweaked it so I really can control which punch I throw because I try to throw a right cross and I get a jab, I try to throw a right hook and I get a right cross and I try to throw a right upper cut and my dude just sits there. FYI that's just if I wanted to throw one punch at a time....sure the combination punching is great and all but at the expense of if you wanted to throw one punch at a time (other than the jab).
I don't want to ALWAYS put my combos together 1,2,3....sometimes I want them 1,2-3 with a little delay and sometimes I just want to land a lead right cross without having to do long division beforehand.
I think the TPC advocates are as bad or worse than the button mashers...all you have to do instead of randomly mashing buttons is randomly jiggle the R3 stick around....you skilless fags!

The FN3 TPC is a different from the FN4 TPC. Now the R3 sticks throws head and body shots.

Yeah, it's a big improvement, although throwing an uppercut remains a muthafucka for me

I thought that with the TPC when I first started getting used to it. But eventually, it starts clicking.

So it's more complicated then? I mean FNR3 had the L1 button if you wanted to throw to the body.

I'm wondering about this too. Does the R3 (right thumb-stick) work independently of the L1 button? Do you have to click it switch to body punches? What do the rest of the buttons do now?

Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
Have not played for the longest but like the option of buttons or sticks.
1st time was hell, thumbs were swollen and stiff for days....hurt like helz. And throwing hook/uppercuts was pretty iffy...had to use exaggerated slashes.

I'll go over the PS3 setup for the main configuration:
X - Specialty Punch
Box - Push
Triangle - Clinch
Circle - Illegal Blow
L1 - Hold this button and move Left Stick to weave
L2 - Switch Stances
R1 - Hold this button and move Right Stick to Block
R2 - Hold this button and punch for Hayemaker
Left Stick - Move fighter
Right Stick - Total Punch Control
Total Punch Control:
Diagonal Up/Left - Jab (Straight Left for Southpaws)
Diagonal Up/Right - Straight (Jab for Southpaws)
Quarter Circle Upwards - Left or Right hooks depending on which way you go.
Diagonal Left/Right Followed by Circle Upwards - Uppercuts
Left/Right - Body Hooks
Diagonal Down/Left or Right - Body Uppercuts

Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
It makes me laugh when i see all these posts from Forum to Forum comming from Button users who demand that the TPC is tightened up...
There's nothing wrong with TPC. Its perfect :)
-
Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
Well Im used to the TPC already. But the TPC does need to be polished a little. There is a lag when you make the motions on the stick and punches coming out. Other than that, It's a great game.
With this being said. Brizzo, The Fight Night Producer told me that the Right Hands will have more thump that the right hands in the demo. Also they have tighten up the TPC Controls because of the existing lag. So Im happy ;)

Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
So you just started using Country Boy and your starting to feel pretty comfortable with it already? If so I'm hoping I pick it up that quick, because like I said I use to be a Button guy but if its gone then I need to get use to TPC and I'm hoping I get use to it pretty fast.

I was a button guy myself. It just takes a little bit getting used to then it's all gravy!

Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
Actually it took me about 60 fights to getused to it, But it does the job.

Did they get rid of those tranquilizer dart "parries?"

Re: Sign Petition to get Button Configurations back in FN4
I can gladly say that there are no parries at all in this game.
Although there is still a bit of an animated delay when you miss badly with a shot.
What's worse though, is the fact that sometimes, the controls are a little non-responsive when trying to counter during those aforementioned 'animated delays'.
Almost like i didn't just try to throw that counter uppercut ???
