If Hoya and Hatton will pick a winner in a PAC vs PBF fight, who would it be?
Oscar dela Hoya and Ricky Hatton are the common opponents of Pacquiao and Floyd...
If Hoya and Hatton will pick a winner in a PAC vs PBF fight, who would it be?
Vote in the poll and discuss...

Gauging from the mauling damage they got from each boxer, I think both Oscar and Ricky will pick PAC to win against PBF...

Re: If Hoya and Hatton will pick a winner in a PAC vs PBF fight, who would it be?
Ricky Hatton and Oscar delaHoya will both pick PBF simply because it is unpopular if you consider yourself a "boxing expert" to pick Manny Pacquiao in any fight.
Equally in doing so, it is hard to disassociate this exercise, with the flak that awaits anyone emboldened enough to take that "road". Ridiculed and stoned beyond belief, until after the fight when the PacMan comes out victorious and yourself vindicated, where you are now expected to take the "high road" and disdain from any " I told you so" scenarios. It will be "classless", the same experts will declare. Who wants that!
In the past, it is in fact, "only" a segment of the general public and the solid "pac nuthuggers' that would pick the "PacMan" in a seeming disadvantageous, or at an odds unfavorable matchup. Curious tho' that they always come away with a better result than the "EXPERTS". Hello Emmanuel Steward! Hello Bernard Hopkins! etcetera, etcetera....
It is the "devil may care what they think" attitude that enables them to just go for it, time and again, rewardedly so.
Maybe the "heart of a champion" is an easier pick up, an easier "distinguishable" to the common man!
Nowadays, it is a hard sell for the experts to distance themselves from wannabes, when their "expert knowledge" are proven as just "expert opinion'" ....repeatedly.

Both Torrecampo and Singsurat have been common opponents of Manny Pacquiao and both KOed Pac in less than 3 rounds. Both seeing how easily they KOed Pac maybe they'll expect Floyd to win.

Re: If Hoya and Hatton will pick a winner in a PAC vs PBF fight, who would it be?
I think Mayweather, but he would have to do some different things, like take more of a chance offensively, otherwise Pacquiao could jam up Mayweathers offensive flow, and how he can now mix it going forward and staying back with improved skills of late.
Mayweather by decision, just. BTW.....it doesnt matter if Pacquiao beat common opponents more easily, as different styles produce different results. Pacquiao was impressive, bt if Floyd is sharp v Marquez, I choose PBF by decision.

Isn't it interesting to discuss who do you think Hoya and Hatton will pick in case a PAC vs. PBF fight will happen?? ... These 2 are the common opponents of PAC and PBF...

Saddoboxer,
How about Torrecampo and Singsurat? They are both common opponents of Pac who easily KOed him in less than 3 rounds. Since both gave Pac a beating, who do you think they will pick?
Pac beat ODLH (no credit on that one really) and Hatton (Pac did his homework, good job).
Torrecampo and Singsurat gave Pac a beating and stopped him in less than 3 rounds.
Who will the 4 of them pick?

Re: If Hoya and Hatton will pick a winner in a PAC vs PBF fight, who would it be?
Hhmm that's actually a good question. Not really a fair one for us fans though. If hoya fought floyd coming in a 118 floyd would have whooped him too. And there are some girl scouts who can knock you out if hit enough times with thier hands down like hatton did against manny so i'm not sure. No fault of manny's at all he showed up did his job, but the question seems hard to answer.

Re: If Hoya and Hatton will pick a winner in a PAC vs PBF fight, who would it be?
oscar will pac to promote the fight, not because he believes pac will win though..ricky on the other hand will pick floyd because he knows floyd is the better pick.

Nah, Oscar picks Floyd because he has a business deal with him. Ricky will Pick Floyd too, mainly because I think he believes Floyd is better.

Re: If Hoya and Hatton will pick a winner in a PAC vs PBF fight, who would it be?
Wait we actually have a thread about what we think Oscar or Ricky might think if Floyd & Pac were to fight?
This kinda thread is killin the credibility of this forum

How could Hatton honestly pick PBF lol that would be a joke after the beating he took from Pac!

I'm really confused here... I'm referring to the common opponents of PAC and PBF... PAC fought Hoya and Hatton, PBF fought Hoya and Hatton so Hoya and Hatton are the only common opponents of PAC and PBF...
PBF didn't fought Torrecampo and Singsurat, it's only PAC who fought these two...

Re: If Hoya and Hatton will pick a winner in a PAC vs PBF fight, who would it be?
If we knew who Oscar and Ricky were picking the thread might work a bit better because we could then give our opinions on why they picked whatever fighter they picked.
If Floyd fought Oscar that night instead of Pac I think DLH would have maybe been knocked out, he had absolutely nothing. I would expect DLH to go with Floyd because it's the right choice. I can't see Floyd getting hit through the entire fight like Pac did, neither does anyone else I know.
Hatton just got sparked in two rounds, he would most probably want Pac to win, that way he lost in devastating fashion to a great fighter who beat Floyd Mayweather who was the P4P king for many years.

Good points mate...
I hope PAC vs. PBF will eventually happen... It's very interesting to hear who Oscar and Ricky will pick to win... hehe...;D

Re: If Hoya and Hatton will pick a winner in a PAC vs PBF fight, who would it be?
It doesn't mean that because Ricky and Oscar were both brutalized in their individual duels with Pac, that they will instantly pick him to win against PBF.
Regardless that both even lasted longer, and gave Mayweather Jr a much more competitive battles, perception is hard to break away from, once struck with it. Even a thrashing will not change this. It is no guarantee.
Remember that initially, David Diaz still picked ODLH to win against Pac, despite the mauling he received against him in their fight. It was only after the first few rounds of the Pac vs ODLH match, did Diaz change his mind, and realized his pick was an absolute mistake!
See, even a serious beating did not improve his perception. It is a very SLOW process, that convincing thing!

Re: If Hoya and Hatton will pick a winner in a PAC vs PBF fight, who would it be?
Both Oscar and Ricky would pick PBF. Cuz Floyd was a little gentle to them compare to what Pac did.
